I like Scott but it's always disappointing when he's filling in these days cause he's simply not Jameela :kink:

Scott's been better than any of the permanent fixtures since Mark Goodier.

I like Jameela and all but her limited vocabulary grates sometimes.

Hasn't he got Strictly later that evening. Doing the multitasking I see :P I like Scott though so I'm all for him filling in :D

That's part of the fun for me

I do like Scott but I'm glad that he's not the main chart presenter, it's much nicer to have a fresher person on the show. Like others on here I've really warmed to Jameela Jamil, yes she's not perfect but she has her iconic moments too so it makes for a great listen.

Would prefer it if we had other people filling in for her instead of just Scott every time. I do love the rare occasion when Dev does it.

I noticed this recently. I think he gets the authority vs informality thing just right. It's weird that someone who filled in on the chart show in the Mark Goodier era is still at Radio 1 and doing the chart show! But very good to see. Tomorrow's is one to record for me as you never know when it'll be his last...

I agree with this! I loved listening to the charts when Scott was covering, at least he doesn't keep saying the same thing again and again

I do miss the good old days when Scott and Mark Goodier did the charts back in the early 2000's when I first got into the v

Charts and would follow them religiously :)

The day Scott Mills leaves Radio 1 is the day I will stop listening but I'm thinking if he does well in Strictly (unlikely but weirder things have happened) I think that day could come sooner than I'd like

Edited by James1987

If Scott presents a chart show any time after mid-April 2016 then he will break the longevity record for any Radio 1 chart presenter permanent or not which is currently set by Simon Bates who as stated on post 8 first hosted on 9th May 1976 while standing in for Tom Browne and did his final one on October 25th 1992 while covering for Bruno Brookes.

Scott is great, he's the longest presenter on radio 1 now ain't he? Or is Annie Nightingale back?

Remember Mark Goodiers last chart show - they played Angels at the end of the chart!

Annie's still going strong at Radio 1 now having been there for 44 years. :)

Scott is miles better than the current host. I've stopped listening to the charts regularly since Jameela came to host. She is so boring and dull.
I always loved how he seems genuinely passionate about the charts by giving out facts and other little tidbits and remember he's on a chart show rather than a chat show, I don't think any regular chart presenter he's stood in for since I started listening has matched his enthusiasm.

I agree 100%

The charts show need someone who's intèrested in the show they're doing and not in talking down at us like we're morons and making mistakes. It just looks really unprofessional I know mistakes happen on live radio but Jameela just makes them every other link!

Looking forward to tomorrow's chart :)
