For me What Is Love is easily her worst. Took an absolute 90's banger and made it dull and boring.

The 3 other singles are all gold though.

It be leaking all over the place!

Didn't hear any of her songs except for the first two singles so looking forward to listening to this in full <3

It's all available to stream on her YouTube channel :D
The album is good but has quite a few fillers. 'No Enemiesz' is fab <3

Well given it a couple of listens and I can't help but feel she's trying to pander to a non-existant wider audience. By what I mean is anyone who currently likes her likes her for the dance tracks, yet there's a lot of slow-tempo R&B stuff on the album which other people may have otherwise been into but have already lost interest in her for her singles output. In my mind, she should have just stuck to the Hideaway/GIMH formula for at least 75% of the album and not thrown half and half together as it splits the appeal a bit too much...

That said, the "dance" half is incredible, and I'm really loving Vietnam, The Love & Over Myself at the moment.

GAH ALBUM OF THE YEAR FOR ME.

(sorry Tinashe)

a bit surprised at Atonement saying there's a lack of 90s influence, if anything this is the 90s tbh. If I were to draw any comparisons, early All Saints and TLC with Cece Peniston type of power vocals, Afuni's production really captures the best of the 90s perfectly. Ballads aplenty <3 Very much in the vein of Katy B's 'Little Red'. Yet so perfectly crafted each and every song, lush production, superb songwriting. Tho dare I say it, as great as the album is it very non-commercial, singles aside which makes me like her even more actually.

If she were to push a post-album single, I'd say, tho not my fave, she should go with 'The Love' which is along the lines of her 'Hideaway'/'Giant in My Heart' sound. What she really needs is a high profile live TV performance where she can push a flawless ballad like 'Sound of a Woman', 'Piano' or "What Is Love'.

You're right, I meant to say it's not as '90s dance as I wanted it to be (and like the singles were).

Actually been listening to it on my headphone tonight and the album's rather good.. it just wasn't what I expected it to be and thus didn't really give it a chance at the time.
