September 12, 201410 yr Poor Kelly. To take a page out of Adele's book, "she could have had it all". One brilliantly executed album is just not enough to qualify, when it was close to a decade ago. :( I think with Kelly she was too American in the eyes of the public to be insanely massive over here with her albums. Personally I don't see an issue with it as I love her  then again I think she has one of the best single discographies so not overly a loss B-)
September 12, 201410 yr I think Kelly is still in a position where she could potentially gain hits from her next album, but that depends if she gets it right. As she's not really released anything in quite a while it's hard to say.

September 16, 201410 yr 1. Rihanna 2. Katy Perry 3. Beyonce (unfortunately) 4. September 16, 201410 yr I have nwver even heard of Ariana while I've seen Madonna mentioned a few times in various publications.
September 16, 201410 yr Ariana has had a big #1 single this year: iS1g8G_njx8 But that's kind of all she has to her name so far.
September 16, 201410 yr 2011 would undeniably be Adele! In fact, I'd say Rihanna or Beyonce would be more appropriate than Katy Perry there.
September 16, 201410 yr Adele obviously took over in 2011 but I'm not entirely sure she's a "popstar" in the same way as those we're comparing her to, really?
September 16, 201410 yr Adele isn't a conventional popstar in terms of image nor production/sound, I'd say. Definitely not as big as Gaga/Perry, anyhow.
September 16, 201410 yr 1. Rihanna 2. Katy Perry 3. Beyonce (unfortunately) 4. Lady GaGa (still think she can cling it back with a good few dance hits!) and over each year of the 21st century: 2000 Britney Spears 2001 Britney Spears 2002 Avril Lavigne 2003 Beyonce 2004 Avril Lavigne 2005 Madonna 2006 Nelly Furtado 2007 Rihanna 2008 Katy Perry 2009 Lady GaGa 2010 Lady GaGa 2011 Katy Perry 2012 Rihanna 2013 Miley Cyrus 2014 Beyonce haha not sure about that list but anyway! Christina in 2002 ( Dirrty, Beautiful, Fighter) Britney in 2004 (Toxic, Everytime, My Prerogative) And I'd agree.
September 16, 201410 yr Ariana is bigger in my opinion. Iggy has around two hits to her name and a Top 5 album, yes one of those hits was huge, but Ariana is often the topic of conversation much more often when it comes to social media from what I've seen and I'm a HUGE fan of both artists. I'll admit there isn't much between the two though. i have to agree with Callum there. Although Iggy has just started to have huge success. Ariana is probably selling more globally (including album sales). However, at the stability Iggy Azalea is having in terms of relevance, I can see Iggy passing Ariana very soon. Plus, does Iggy count as a popstar or rapstar?
September 18, 201410 yr On the current moment (2014) Level 1. Nobody Level 2. Katy Perry, Rihanna, Beyonce, Taylor Swift Level 3. December 1, 201410 yr No one stands out particularly for 2014, which is a bit of a shame really. Ariana Grande finally broke through, yes, but she's hardly dominated the charts (in the UK anyway). I'm all for Rihanna coming back next year and showing everyone how it's done!
December 2, 201410 yr level 0: iamamiwhoami level 1: cher level 2-498: everyone else level 499: YVA level 500: The Saturdays bye
