Delighted for her. Hope this continues to be big for a few weeks yet as I think it's got real generational crossover appeal.

All her albums have been big actually.

Wikipedia says her first 2 albums both passed 600k, her 3rd may do the same one day (so far it's on 325k)

Which makes it more puzzling why radio 1 dropped her just not their type of music.

Wow at the 60% lead for Sigloma! We finally have a massive No1 again at last - 120k please!!

She is touring at the end of next month/Nov, seeing her in concert on the 29 Oct (Southend) :cheer: :D

She's fabulous live, I saw her at the O2 last year, excellent show and her crowd interaction was probably the best out of any artist I've seen

1st: Do You Want The Truth Or Something Beautiful?

2nd: Fall To Grace

3rd: A Perfect Contradiction

All of which I'd say have been bigger than the previous.

They randomly dropped her after 'Picking Up The Pieces' and pretty much blacklisted her after that. Stupid station, I'm so glad it's not hindered her.

Radio 1 absolutely baffle me at times, dropping her after her biggest hit at the time... I find it odd that they snubbed The Saturdays when they did also, I mean, they could've done it following My Heart Takes Over or Gentleman, but did it after Disco Love which was a decent sized hit...

I think it's Living For The Weekend which caused that, sadly. :(

2. Taylor Swift - Shake It Off

OA/OS is winning with this and Calvin single.

Well just a thought, perhaps that's precisely the reason they didn't playlist those songs? Like the artist has just had a big hit, time to give someone else the chance?

Idk, i don't really follow playlist patterns closely enough but they might just want to mix it up and not saturate us with the same artist/band for too long in a certain time :P (but then they do so for other acts - see Bastille/Coldplay etc. but those are staple radio 1 fodder now whether they get hits or not)

Also, I think NGU and WAYWF were too generic for them.

Radio 1 don't really base their playlisting on the song itself, it's pretty much always to do with an artist's profile. Especially with a pop act.

An act reaches a point where they're not gonna make the playlist no matter what song they release.

120k?

I know she has a big lead but I'll be really shocked if she manages 120k, I think 100k will be pushing it lots. I predict about 85k but maybe I'm just crazy

4. Professor Green - Lullaby (feat. Tori Kelly)

61. Joel Compass – Girlfriends

644. Rubylux - Lovers of New York (feat. Lee Ryan)

Fantastic to see Sigma storming to No1 , hopefully Changing will clear the 100k mark with ease this week. :cheer:
I still think 100k is quite optimistic as surely 'Prayer In C's sales must have decreased quite a lot now - surely only around 50k for that next week? So to get 100k Sigma will have to hold up very well and increase quickly on streaming.

Possibly but in all honesty, if they like an artist and they've had a hit, they'll typically continue to playlist their songs, because they've proved that they can get a hit and are worth supporting. The Bastille/1975 singles still getting playlisted just proves that I think. Aly hit the nail on the head IMO with it being to do with LFTW's disastrous sales.

 3. Professor Green - Lullaby (feat. Tori Kelly)

This is turning out to be massive! I still am yet to hear this (along with George Ezra's new track {in full}), but if I can scrounge up a clean version I'm intrigued on what the fuss is about!
