Here’s the debut single from a brand new Danish girlband that’s been put together by Rene out of Aqua. It’s ‘Weekend Girl’ by World of Girls.

 

A jovial merging of dance music and bubblegum pop. It’s Denmark’s answer to GRL (although more ‘Vacation’ than ‘Ugly Heart’). ‘Weekend Girl’ makes herself known with a big chanty chorus – a call to arms for all good time girls (and any men who want to be one!).

 

As an introduction to the band, we can tell that we’re going to be liking them a lot. And since they’ve been put together by one quarter of Aqua (and signed to his label, Popbeat), we’re confident that the people in charge know their pop.

 

Here’s ‘Weekend Girl’ (at present she’s just on SPOTIFY, but we’ll update with a YouTube link as and when it appears online) which came out today;

 

So saw this posted by Scandipop; and with it being a new girl group, I was more than willing to check it out. It's a nice little pop song. Not quite 'Ugly Heart' standards yet, but the potential in them is definitely there and I can see the GRL similarities!
