I'll admit Frankie's overly autotuned intro irritates me, especially in their performances of it.

Higher - Although I rarely listen to it now due to how dated it sounds, and my disappointment at the way it's performed on the latest tour, it will always be my favourite Saturdays song/single. It's easily the best thing on Headlines, and reminds me of the intro to the Headlines tour, 24/7 and the brilliant New York style video. Although I love the Sats' dance pop releases, this for me is what they are about and represents what pop music is all about. Very upbeat, positive and generally full of fun. I also believe they were at their "peak" around the time of this release.

All Fired Up - This is my most played Sats song by a mile. Over 1,000 plays on my Last FM page. I'm a sucker for dance pop and love how full of energy it is. If only this caught on the same way What About Us did as it's ideal for clubs. I really like the chereography and the music video - definitely one of their best, including the shots of the girls sitting on toilet floors.

Not Giving Up - I like this for similar reasons to All Fired Up - it's definitely in the same vein. I was absolute gagging for this song after all the clips were used on Chasing the Saturdays. Regardless of how fed up as a fanbase we were around the time of What About Us for their releases being too similar, I cannot deny that this would have been an amazing follow up to WAU instead of Gentleman. The fact that this charted 20 places higher than WAYWF which had the same problems regarding airplay etc speaks volumes for how good the song is. I adore the neon lighting idea in the video and Frankie's "got me on o-ver-load". I honestly think it's one of the best songs The Sats could have under their belts, and it's a massive shame not enough people know it.

What About Us - Although I love the song, I probably love this more for other reasons. It's the Saturdays song I am guaranteed to hear on a night out, was their first UK #1 and always goes down a storm at live shows which creates a fantastic atmosphere wherever you are.

Ego - Another typical Saturdays pop single. Adored for similar reasons to Higher. Amazing vocals from Vanessa and generally well known track.

01. White Lies

- I just heard this yesterday (thank you Lee). Just perfect! :o  REALLY JUST A BOP, OK.

All 10/10 tracks, the first two being 11/10. Shoutout to 'All Fired Up' and 'Disco Love'... This was harder than I thought it would be. :drama:

AS IF you've just become more perfect than you already are with your Britney stannage  a near flawless top 5! Oh and I'm taking responsibility for this! (Unless Lee recommended it to you before I did )

Did you listen to 'One Shot' by the way? :o (The one that I said sounds like Britney - Stronger)

MY TOP 5:

01. 'HIGHER' (with or without Flo, I can take either!)

You don't get much more poptastic than this. From first listen of that LQ live performance of the song, it was actual LOVE! I don't think many people do pop quite like The Saturdays do! Makes drunken nights out with a zebra crossing nearby much more fun. ;D

02. 'WHITE LIES'

What's not to love? The production is on point for a pop song (no surprise there when it comes to The Sats), Una taking full lead of the chorus (my favourite member) and it's basically just a much improved version of the already great 'Karma' for me. This song proved to me that they DO still have it.

---

03. 'EGO'

Again, it's just Sats doing what they do best, pop music. Insane how catchy it is. A great but simple routine, the perfect pop structure to a song. Such a solid pop anthem.

---

04. 'MY HEART TAKES OVER'

I think my adoration of this song has been spoken about all too often on this forum. It is one of the most perfect, power ballads I have heard in absolutely ages. It's anthemic and when it flopped, I was devastated that such a gorgeous song that sounded like it could be a hit, didn't really "hit". I highly doubt there will be another girl group ballad single, like this in the next few years.

---

05. 'DO WHAT YOU WANT TO ME'

Literally just switched 'Issues' for this. Absolutely brilliant, pulsating dance pop. The build from one verse to the other is just chilling. Then THAT chorus... wow. One of the highlights of their AFU tour for me. If they want to continue with the whole dance, pop sound, then I wish they'd take charge and move more in this/'Faster' direction! As they sound less formulaic than some others on the OYR album.

In no particular order:

Not Giving Up - This song should be the lead single, such a great and strong track. Sounds like an "All Fired Up part 2" for me, but in a good way.

Turn Myself In - A new favourite of mine, I could listen to so many times. That chorus is just

Died In Your Eyes - Although this is a cover, the production is very amazing and it has addictive melodies.

All Fired Up - An instant classic of girlgroups nowadays.

Denial - My most favourite track from Wordshaker. Should've been a single IMO.

Forever Is Over- Anthemic, amazing vocals and I love the lyrics and production

Just Can't Get Enough- The song that made me 100% love The Sats. It's just a fun and great cover for me

Up- I love it as its so catchy

Ego- The Girls at their best with an amazing video and song with a killer chorus

All fired up and missing you just miss out

I'm surprised how easy it is for you guys to tell what's your top 5. I swear to God I wouldn't know where to start and it probably change every now and then. I just can't, basically.

I could do my top 5 for each album, that would be much easier already

Love the second gif. That's how I feel when Mollie sings her parts on Missing You. "I get high when you're mak...(inaudible)"

1. Up

Where do I start? Hooked on them from the moment they started their set at the Tangled Up tour, 'Up' is just a pop song done so, so RIGHT! I have great memories of them from around this time, it was such an exciting time to be a Sats fan. It's a shame it gets thrown-around quite a lot in this forum, without 'Up' I'm not sure album 2 would ever have surfaced.

2. Disco Love

3. Higher

4. White Lies

Again 3 examples of what The Sats do best, pure pop!...

5. Not Giving Up

...but their dance sound is also fantastic! I'm so glad it was released as a single, and although it flopped, the single mix and video really elevated this to bonafide Sats classic.

And because I'm bored, how I've rated the rest of their back catalogue:

1 What Are You Waiting For?

* This is without a doubt my favourite Sats track. It's just so feel good. Might be just cause it's a fresh track but I think I will still love this in years to come plus it just reminds me of summer.

2 If This Is Love

* This is my #2 fave because it's where it all started plus the song is just fantastic in my eyes

3 Disco Love

* This is just brilliant. Almost my fave Sats track and probably will be soon enough. It's just so poppy and feel good and I can't help but love it.

4 Notorious

* Probably their best dance track for me. And the fact that it just seems to build through out the song and just keep building. Its such a tune and probably their most original track tbh.

5 30 Days

* I think this was their third attempt at dance music but really a poor attempt compared to the likes of Not Giving Up but this is a much more fun track than NGU. I know a lot of people don't like it but hey it's not everyday you get a video about speed dating that looks fun ♥
