So happy for her. This is such an achievement! Basically, everything she has released since Born This Way has hit #1 :cheeseblock:

But the U.S. has no taste if 'The Fame/Fame Monster' didn't even get to #1

True but at the same time, they have phenomenal sales there so it proves that #1 isn't everything! It does seem odd that her only projects to miss out are her most successful ones

I wonder if the US could’ve gotten TFM to #1 had the release there been like ours where it was combined with the original The Fame.

That would be such a quiz question though! Nobody aside from those who follow charts closely would think Gagas huge debut era would be her only one not to top the chart in her home country.

Stupid Love: 800,000 units

Rain On Me: 600,000 units

:cheer:

I think SC is 200,000 units too  1.6 million in the US from singles alone.

800,000+ Rain On Me (Gold)

600,000+ Stupid Love (Gold)

200,000+ Sour Candy

500,000+ Chromatica (Gold)

2.1 million from the album and 3 singles alone in the US. Pretty impressive. Will be interesting to see where the figures stand in a year from now.

I investigated and no, the numbers never lined up for it to be higher than #2 combined! (Though that said, the reason for the separate chart entries in the US was because 'The Fame Monster' was released both on its own and as the 2-disc set [the latter of which counted towards 'The Fame'], whereas I think only the 2-disc set was released in Europe? So it's not a matter of different chart rules as much as different releases, and it surely would've sold less combined if the 1-disc version hadn't been released.)
