October 7, 201410 yr They've done really well for a group that has not came from a reality show (Little Mix, Girls Aloud) almost every other group have tried and failed (Wonderland, Stooshe, Perfume). Completely agree. I think it's easy to forget because they have always just seemed to have done the wrong thing at the pivotal moment of greatness, but they've done a lot right as well. They have a core group of fans which will always make sure they chart, and not many girl bands have had that in recent years. Banarama never had number 1 hit. But when i'm asked to name an 80s girl group, they're literally the only one I can name. I think our Sats have done a great job and will have classics that live on for years    Plus as bad as things look at the moment, I still have faith they have one last push in them to finally do something which makes everyone take notice of them. I think the hardest part for me as a fan is the way people laugh at them. I can deal with people critising their abilities, because every music act ever will have that. But I hate how much of a laughing stock they've become to some people, when it's completely unjustified. Parade shade  Finest Selection #736 I still think the release of 808 would revive this campaign. Just saying.
October 7, 201410 yr If Not Giving Up couldn't revive LFTW, 808 ain't gon' do sh*t. Would love to see a video for it though
October 7, 201410 yr If Not Giving Up couldn't revive LFTW, 808 ain't gon' do sh*t. Would love to see a video for it though  It's a fair point, but Not Giving Up got to 19 with No airplay and less promotion than they'd usually do, if it's got some radio attention I think LFTW would have re-entered the chart all be it the lower end but still. I think 808, especially if they release the one with Angel, will get some airplay. If not, I would personally boycott Radio 1 for the rest of time for screwing my girls over 3 times in a row! Maybe Frankie can threaten to put butter under Scott's shoes on Strictly and make him worse than he already is, and force him to play it! Edited October 7, 201410 yr by QueenRochSlays
October 7, 201410 yr Maybe Frankie can threaten to put butter under Scott's shoes on Strictly and make him worse than he already is, and force him to play it![/color] Only Sophie Ellis-Bextor can do that with such immaculate flair. Hoping for Radio 1 from now on is a completely lost cause.
October 7, 201410 yr Only Sophie Ellis-Bextor can do that with such immaculate flair. OMFG! so true! Then they need to do a good radio tour to get the public back interested. Force Radio 1 to take notice again, because they're charting better. They did it with 30 Days! And let's face it, if they can get that to chart top 10...
October 8, 201410 yr The introduction of streaming makes it so much harder for them to go top ten. Their image and brand relies on top ten singles (no matter how little their sales are) so it's been a big blow that they missed the top 15 and just scraped the top 40 with two releases this year. Album flops can sort of be 'saved' by a top ten single or two (like their last albums) but the singles flopping completely has put them in a very dangerous and 'irrelevant' position. Their next move is vital.

I really hope there is an album coming and it isn't just smokescreen for blowing the news of an end of them making albums etc.

Marvin confirmed they weren't splitting in a interview on Popjustice. He also said on the same interview that "everyone love a Christmas album"...which is really vague. Peter from PJ also mentioned he was still waiting for them to announce the Christmas album, so we still don't have a confirmation...and to be honest, it's taking quite a long time. Are they thinking about releasing in December? I can't with these girls. -_-

I can't with these girls. -_- I don't know what's taking them so long. They haven't even said anything like "look forward to some exciting news coming SOON!" in the mailers. It's just nothing. They haven't even mentioned anything to fans, Tweeted about anything coming up, there's nothing on the release schedules, no leaks or rumours online, no album titles floating around. It's just so quiet. I mean isn't the pattern usually - Announce "news coming soon"....2/3 weeks later - announcing the album and single.....next week - announcing when we can hear the single on radio....next week - radio premiere/pre-orders/artwork/title etc.....6 - 8 weeks later the single and album release? Do we even have time to do that? (unless they're going to do a random pointless Christmas cover medley on Strictly with no album or single to promote themselves)
October 8, 201410 yr It will have a planned release date of 22/12 only to get pushed back to the 29/12 at a discounted price. Hah! Amazing. A November release may get them a total of 30,000 sales, a late October release would probably give less than half.

October 9, 201410 yr 'What Are You Waiting For?' has held up in the top 1,500 rather well tbh. 566. The Saturdays - Finest Selection
October 9, 201410 yr Unless it's been scrapped. I think they're better off continuing to promote the Greatest Hits until Xmas, and then move onto new music in the New Year possibly :/
October 9, 201410 yr Unless it's been scrapped. I think they're better off continuing to promote the Greatest Hits until Xmas, and then move onto new music in the New Year possibly :/ Yeah, they should try and fit some more GH performances in. There are shows they could do acoustics on. And they could do a Tumble-like medley on Strictly. It's such a shame that their last/only performance on Strictly was under-rehearsed and void of any energy of a song that didn't suit the audience at all. Edited October 9, 201410 yr by Joe.
