Atom Dance is really fabulous :') Her collabs with Hegarty are constantly on point.

Atom Dance is currently my least favourite :P The previous collabs with him have most certainly been extremely pretty though.

I cannot get enough of this.
I like it ten times more than Biophilia.
Black Lake is rather good.

I love the part where the strings get really really loud together with the beat.

Black Lake is the best thing she's done since Pagan Poetry. (Discounting Surrender)

I'm not all that crazy about Pagan Poetry these days. Don't know why. Vespertine is still my babe though.

It's obviously still really early days in terms of Vulnicura, but the ones standing out to me most right now are Lionsong and Quicksand. The album really is bloody good!

At least I like one song from this album - which is more than I could say for the last three.

Björk is like poetry these days, it's all about rhythm and words and not about the tunes.

That said, I like poetry, but it's a far cry from the musicality of her peak years.

I find that there is melody in places, it's just a little subtle. Stonemilker, Lionsong, Notget and Quicksand sound quite melodic to me. The latter has an abrasive sound, but there's melody in the vocal line.

This has just gotten better and better. Still can't get enough. Even Atom Dance has majorly grown on me, what a track! Quicksand is my favourite, addictive.

Straight from Wikipedia, the most reliable website in existence of course:

On 6 November 2015, Vulnicura Strings (Vulnicura: The Acoustic Version - Strings, Voice And Viola Organista Only) or simply Vulnicura Strings, is set to be released, featuring eight of Vulnicura‍‍ '‍s nine tracks in strings only renditions in what has been described as a more uncompromising and intimate take on Vulnicura. It features the same vocals as the studio album but without the beats of co-producers Arca and The Haxan Cloak. The album will include additional string arrangements by Una Sveinbjarnardóttir, who was a part of the Icelandic String Octet that joined Björk on stage for her 1998 Homogenic Tour, as well as alternate takes of string arrangements recorded during Vulnicura‍‍ '‍s original recording sessions that Björk felt were more appropriate for the far more delicate atmosphere of Vulnicura Strings, stating, "I dug out the more close up pick up miked versions, other sonic point-of-views...". Additionally, several songs will utilize the Viola Organista, a unique instrument designed by Leonardo da Vinci but built for the first time centuries later by the Polish musician Sławomir Zubrzycki. Björk described how the instrument works: "...(it) uses a friction belt to vibrate individual strings (similar to a violin), with the strings selected by pressing keys on the keyboard (similar to an organ)." Zubrzycki plays the instrument, the only one in existence, on the album, which was mixed by Chris Elms.

Track list for Vulnicura Strings:

1. Mouth Mantra

2. Lionsong

3. Black Lake

4. Atom Dance

5. Stonemilker

6. Quicksand

7. Notget

8. Family

9. Black Lake (Viola organista instrumental - Digital edition bonus track)

So two versions of Black Lake. History of Touches is obviously the only track not to be re-interpreted this way, which is probably because it doesn't seem to contain strings in the first place. Would have been interesting to do a strings version of that song too though.

Looking forward to this. I always enjoy it when Björk's songs get reinvented. I can imagine this being extremely pretty and indeed intimate. Should be a nice little companion to an album that has become one of my favourite Björk albums.

It already leaked.
