oh yay a UKIP propaganda song in the chart :nocheer:

if it does actually chart officially though surely R1 won't play it cos BBC have to be politically neutral?

Historical precedent is that they will play it with the minimum possible fuss - that's what happened with 'War' by The Ugly Rumours and 'Defenders Of The Land' By George Bowyer - I suspect I may be the only person who remembers that.

Didn't realise R.Kelly was up to 71% - should sell 65-70k this week then!
Marlisa is 385 now with Stand By You *.* I know that's hardly any sales but it always surprises me that the X Factor Australia winners make a bit of a dent on the top 500 ish each year when it's not aired on TV at all here. I'm sure Dami and Samantha peaked at at least ~300 too!

They did that with Notsensibles' '(I'm In Love With) Margaret Thatcher' as well, just played it without introducing it and then immediately moved onto the next track, only acknowledging its existence in the 31-40 recap. More recently though when The Irish Brigade's 'Roll Of Honour' made the top 40 they introduced it and played a short snippet of it then moved on. I think they'd be more likely to do the latter with this. (I can't see it making the top 40 anyway).

Haha, some of them are for the 100th time 59p :D

But YES for Kylie & Oliver Heldens

Is Welcome to New York an instant gratification or not? I'm assuming it isn't as so far it's climbed to #9, and with 1989's pre-orders in the mix it'd be a lot higher.

It's an instant grat.

Pre-release tracks on Shazam UK's chart:

#5 Real Love - Clean Bandit & Jess Glynne

#12 Dangerous - David Guetta

#15 Wicked Games - Parra For Cuva

#16 TINA - Fuse ODG

#22 You Ruin Me - The Veronicas

#30 Wait On Me - Rixton

#36 Wrapped Up - Olly Murs

Could definitely see all of these becoming huge. Although Jeremih's "Don't Tell Em" is #1 on Shazam and thankfully not a contender for #1 on the singles chart yet.

In the US in took a while for the pre-orders to be added to Out of the Woods' sales but when they were its popularity was outselling the #2 by 9 to 1. Hopefully the pre-orders will be added to it soon.

TINA is already out

Real Love and Dangerous sound like top 5 hits. Wrapped Up will probably do well too cos it's by Olly Murs. Rixton/The Veronicas/Parra For Cuva may go top 10/15

Welcome To New York has performed significantly worse all over the world, so perhaps it's not an instant grat? Cause surely instant grat singles perform better as time goes by, not worse?
It definitely is an instant grat. You can see this yourself by just looking at iTunes. I don't get why people are debating this.
They're debating it because 1989's pre-orders are high and because when you consider them WTNY should be higher than #8. I'm convinced, like Ryan, that the pre-orders haven't been added to its tally.

iTunes did mess up the release of 'Welcome To New York' last night, which might explain why it doesn't appear as high as it might have, but it's definitely an instant grat.
