US Peak: #29

Shame on me for thinking I can get into this song when really, I just couldn't because it was so boring.

#48 BEST: Bruno Mars - "Treasure"

3rd Single, Unorthodox Jukebox

UK Peak: #12, US Peak: #5

Probably one of his best songs. My sister wanted this to be a single, and for some odd reason, she got her wish when we heard this on the radio. Can't blame her: his uptempos and midtempos are a lot catchier than his typical sappy love song (bar "Grenade", which I absolutely adore). It's funny how his third singles I usually like the best.

Too bad he had to ruin all that momentum built within this album for the sh*tshow that was "Gorilla"... :puke2:

#48 WORST: Wale f/Tiara Thomas - "Bad"

Lead Single, The Gifted

US Peak: #21, UK Peak: #112

Sooooooooooooo boring. Like, so boring that it's snooze-worthy. Not even the remix with Rihanna could redeem this song from being a perpetual bore fest.

It's back!

#47 BEST: Britney Spears - "Work Bitch"

Lead Single, Britney Jean

US Peak: #12, UK Peak: #7

I do agree that producing every other track with will.i.am (and even that's an exaggeration) did hinder the performance of her album as a whole, but the Ingrosso/Otto Knows production and the infectious and iconic chorus definitely make the song. Plus, it's pretty much everyone's workout song of the 2010's.

#47 WORST: Jay Sean - "Where You Are"

Lead Single, Neon

US Peak: #46 Pop

We all know his story: released a single in 2004, disappeared for five years, made a song that put him back on the map, then just kinda faded into obscurity. Most of the singles from "Down" on were decent but didn't match the success or momentum of his biggest hit. Then he comes out with this and it's... pretty mediocre. At least the follow-up, "Mars" is slightly redeeming.

#46 BEST: Austin Mahone - "What About Love"

Non-album single

US Peak: #66, UK Peak: #83

I LOVE THIS KID. :cheer: "Say Somethin'" (not to be confused by the horrible A Great Big World song) was killer, to say the least, and I was so excited to hear this track. Of course, he doesn't disappoint, and this became one of my favorite songs of that summer. As to why this wasn't included in The Secret... I will never know.

#46 WORST: Lupe Fiasco f/Ed Sheeran - "Old School Love"

Non-album single

US Peak: #93

Also got left out of Lupe's album. Lupe has really disappointed me with his recent work: I'll mention "Battle Scars" later (spoiler), but this is hella boring. It's sad because this is one very rare occasion where I will rip on anything Ed Sheeran's involved in. His part's fine, I guess, and that's probably the only reason why this is so low on the worst list. That and the collaboration isn't the usual generic "add Juicy J or 2 Chainz to a fairly slow song".

Glad to see a fellow hater of 'Treasure', awful song. Minus 'Locked Out of Heaven' and 'Gorilla' to a lesser extent, the singles that era were terrible.

#45 BEST: Olly Murs f/Flo Rida - "Troublemaker"

Lead Single/2nd US Single, Right Place Right Time

US Peak: #25, UK Peak: #1

I'd say that Olly Murs is one of the only people who can get away with being all suave and smooth at his age. This song is funk pop at its finest. While at first I was a little apprehensive about him teaming up with Flo Rida, I'd say both men did their job pretty well. Being exposed to this song near the beginning of my last high school semester, it was kinda hard for me to get into it, considering I didn't have that much experience with current Britpop other than Olly's last single, 1D, Cher Lloyd, and (at the time) Little Mix, but it grew on me like HSAB did.

#45 WORST: John Mayer f/Katy Perry - "Who You Love"

3rd Single, Paradise Valley

US Peak: #48

Okay. I get that they were in love, and I normally enjoy John Mayer on a certain level, but this probably had one of the highest burn rates of all of his songs. While I really liked the Heartbreak Warfare era and was expecting something similar, I thought this was... just plain boring.

#44 BEST: John Newman - "Love Me Again"

Lead Single, Tribute

US Peak: #30, UK Peak: #1

I first heard John Newman by getting exposed to "Feel The Love" fairly late, around the spring of 2013. This was just complete lush for me. Now, I'm never usually the one to like songs with a Hot Adult sound, but it was one of the catchiest things I've ever heard. This is also one of the songs that I love to play on the piano.

#44 WORST: Eminem - "Berzerk"

Lead Single, The Marshall Mathers LP II

US Peak: #3, UK Peak: #2

Bar "The Monster" slightly, Eminem has really disappointed me with his output of songs since "Not Afraid". Now that was an example of his more mature raps being effective. This was basically just noise.

And NO, CONOR DESERVED THAT TOP 2, NOT HIM.

The next two songs are brought to you by the word, "Hey".

#43 BEST: Avicii - "Hey Brother"

3rd Single, True

US Peak: #16, UK Peak: #2

Probably his best single on this album, despite not being the best of the album itself. It also has the best Avicii by Avicii remix of the four singles remixed, not to mention the best video. Now, the lyric video was what gave this song the instant jump over the rest of 2013.

#43 WORST: Billy Currington - "Hey Girl"

Lead Single, We Are Tonight

US Peak: #39

WAAAAAAAAAY TOO SAPPY FOR ME. Nuff said.
