RESULTS: Pop Princesses 2 • The Rate
05 P!nk - Don't Let Me Get Me avg: 8.66 👑 Pop Royalty: 11 (lewistgreen, Tafty), 10 (Viper*, Jessie Where, Dobbo, 777666jason, ...ready for it, Nina West, leww, Roba.) ❌ Pop Flop: 4 (Chez Wombat), 6 (DaTilt, Henessy Lake) P!nk improves on her 9th place performance in the first Pop Princesses rate with a top 5 showing this time. She achieved the exact same average as the song in 4th place, but that track won out on a tiebreak. More on that tomorrow. They can both boast an 8.66 result. P!nk led her sophomore album Missundaztood with previous Pop Princesses competitor 'Get The Party Started', a big hit for her. She followed this up with the rockier 'Don't Let Me Get Me' for single #2. Linda Perry may have written 'Get The Party Started' but P!nk has a writing credit this time, alongside Dallas Austin, who also produced the song. 'Don't Let Me Get Me' was written about her low self esteem and sees P!nk comparing herself to "damn Britney Spears", although she since updated this line to the softer "sweet Britney Spears" in live performances. 'Don't Let Me Get Me' charted at #6 in the U.K. and was neatly her sixth top 10 to date. P!nk was the fourth highest top 40 debut that week in 2002, behind: Liberty X's 'Just A Little' at #1, Enrique's 'Escape' at #3 and 'What's Luv' by Fat Joe and Ashanti at #4. 'Don't Let Me Get Me' was a Stateside success too, as it charted at #8 there. lewistgreen and Tafty wanted to paint the town p!nk and awarded her an 11 each. Meanwhile, Chez Wombat was not so impressed and provided the lowest score of 4.

Iz ranks the 2010 #1s
Completely agree that 'California Gurls' is the weakest link from those standard edition Teenage Dream singles, very basic. I do remember enjoying the music video through 12-year-old eyes though, mostly due to the assault of colour, fun boardgame layout and sweet treats. Speaking of the latter... I recently dug out my CD copy of Teenage Dream from 2010 and the scented booklet still smells like candyfloss all these years later *.* I was wondering when 'Dirtee Disco' would drop out! This track feels so far removed from what he was doing before, especially with a member of One True Voice providing vocals, but it's ultimately harmless and preferable to 'Shout' at least.

DaTilt Top 75 May 20th 2026
Hi DaTilt I can be less secretive about Liv Del Estal now the semis are up so yayyyyy that I have such strong host support here, glad you're a fan The new entries from Tove, Jorja and DARA are all fantastic too! I was more distant from Eurovision than usual this year but this was a banging winner.

DaTilt ranks the #1's of 1994
'Everything Changes' is not really a Take That favourite of mine, even with the Robbie spotlighting, but it's leagues better than 'Sure' - so I'm glad it's higher! 'Doop' is a bit of a guilty pleasure for me too. I do love a charleston so it checks out I guess x I'm a fan of Prince but I would not consider 'The Most Beautiful Girl in the World' a discography highlight at all, so an underwhelming sole #1. At least my favourite single of his, 'When Doves Cry', did get to #1 on the Billboard Hot 100.

06 Kylie Minogue - Better the Devil You Know avg: 8.45 👑 Pop Royalty: 11 (Jessie Where), 10 (DaTilt, Scene, 777666jason, ...ready for it, gooddelta, lewistgreen, Nina West, leww) ❌ Pop Flop: 5 (Billy.), 6 (Lee_J11, Julian_) Kylie departs the countdown on the same day as the release of her Netflix documentary series! 'Better The Devil You Know' exits with a strong 8.45 average. Minogue successfully transitioned from soap star to pop princess in the late 1980s. Her first two albums Kylie and Enjoy Yourself continued to present her as the girl next door. She still worked with '80s heavyweight producers Stock, Aitken and Waterman for third album Rhythm of Love but additional collaborators were introduced to update her sound for the '90s. Kylie had been dissatisfied with her lack of involvement in the creative process up to now, so was given more of a voice behind the scenes for this era. Lead single 'Better the Devil You Know' was a club-ready dance-pop pivot and the accompanying video introduced a more mature image reinvention. This single was well-received and became a landmark moment for her LGBTQ+ audience, thanks to its heavy rotation in gay clubs. 'Better the Devil You Know' reached #2 in the U.K. chart back in 1990, Kylie's fifth #2 single. It was a neat 10th top 10 for her at this point too. Another floorfiller known as 'Killer' blocked her from the top on this occasion, as Adamski stayed at #1 for a month. Fellow Pete Waterman project Steps would later cover this song at the tail end of the '90s and reached #4 with it. Compilation closer 'Better the Devil You Know' stood out like a sore thumb on the Pop Princesses 2 track list as it is at least a decade older than everything else included! You couldn't get much better than this for Jessie Where so Kylie received his top marks. The song wasn't devilish enough for anyone to properly hate, but Billy. did give it an average 5.

Dangerous Woman • 3rd Album
I ended up ordering the '2016 art' cover but appreciate that Ariana went to the effort of doing a new photoshoot for this too. I can't justify the price of buying more than one of these vinyl variants but would've got one of the '2026 art' covers on CD, had any been produced. I was hoping for 7" 'Dangerous Woman', 'Into You', 'Side to Side' and 'Everyday' singles after the My Everything 10th anniversary rollout, but at least my bank account is somewhat relieved after pre-ordering this album, petal. and 'hate that i made you love me.' stuff recently

07 JoJo - Leave (Get Out) avg: 8.21 👑 Pop Royalty: 11 (Billy.), 10 (Viper*, Paddington James, Henessy Lake, Doug, leww) ❌ Pop Flop: 3 (777666jason), 4 (jimwatts) Next it's JoJo's time to leave and she does it in style with the first 8+ average so far - 8.21 to be exact. American singer Joanna Noëlle "JoJo" Levesque grew up around parents who liked to sing and particularly took interest in her mother practicing hymns. JoJo began singing herself when she was just 2 years old and would imitate anything, from nursery rhymes to jazz songs. Her big break arrived when she competed on a show named America's Most Talented Kid in 2003. She did not win but was contacted by record producer Vincent Herbert who asked her to audition for Blackground Records. She signed with them at the age of 12. JoJo infamously found herself embroiled in long-term label troubles but her career was off to a flying start in the mid-to-late 2000s. 'Leave (Get Out)' was released as JoJo's debut single in 2004 when she was just 13 years old. This guitar driven pop-meets-R&B song was written and produced by Soulshock & Karlin who had worked with huge names in the past, such as 2Pac and Whitney Houston. Alex Cantrall and Phillip "Whitey" White also have writing credits. The music video was directed by Erik White who is the nephew of fellow music video director Hype Williams. It has thrown me that Erik's directorial credits include the music videos for both seasons of The Glee Project, in amongst lots of big R&B names! 'Leave (Get Out)' was the first of three U.K. top 10 hits for JoJo and her highest peaking song to date here, as it reached #2. She was blocked from the top by Nelly's double A-side release of 'My Place' / 'Flap Your Wings'. She also made waves in the States as 'Leave (Get Out)' reached #12 on the Billboard Hot 100. However, this was not her highest peak in the U.S., as 'Too Little Too Late' from her sophomore era managed an impressive #3 result over there a few years later. Billy. wanted to treat this song right and awarded it with his top marks of 11. Meanwhile, 777666jason was particularly ready for this to get out, as he gave it a score of 3.
