19 // Paradise (Not for Me) // Music // 129pts.

This should have been higher! 'Paradise (Not For Me') is one of my Music faves, really heavenly and dreamy sound that fits nicely between 'What It Feels Like for a Girl' and 'Gone'. I usually think "oh yeah yeah" when people say this but it really does transform me to a different place; just so peaceful. The lyrical meaning appears to be about suicide which is reflected by the

and the music.

18 // Easy Ride // American Life // 132pts.

Another favourite of mine, in fact the best album-only track on American Life for me. It's lyrics deal with ambition and to me sounds very confessional. Really lovely melody too, stripped back at times then combining the sounds present earlier in the album. A very contrasting end to the beginning of the album in general though!

17 // Nobody Knows Me // American Life // 133pts.

The highest voted American Life track is 'Nobody Knows Me'. This served as a US promo single and was praised greatly by critics and public alike. It hits out at the music/media industry and how they have the power to ruin people. In that sense it's a really strong song, however I wouldn't say it was one of my favourites, more middle.

16 // Forbidden Love // Confessions on a Dance Floor // 135pts.

Note that this is a different track to the 'Forbidden Love' we saw earlier in the countdown! This track is perhaps the one that moves around the most in my ranking of the Confessions album - sometimes I really love it and others it's near the bottom (although as I previously said, the bottom on this album is still very high). I love the "once upon a time" bits in particular.

Don't forget to celebrate 20 years since 'Take a Bow' here!

'Forbidden Love' is easily in my top 3 album tracks from her (had it #2 in my rank). Such a brilliant song and the perfect track to be centred in the middle of the album because it really sets off the shift for the second half. Love love.

Yeah, I've always seen it as the moment the albums shifts to the second half too, although 'Jump' kind of disrupts that slightly. In fact I think 'Forbidden Love' being between two upbeat tracks is what sometimes makes me like it less.

RE: my comment on 'Push', I've realised that it's the lyrics and not the instrumental that incorporates The Police's 'Every Breath You Take' ("Every move I make, every step I take"). Duh! :P

Voted for all of those tracks !

Easy ride and nobody knows me are my faves from this set . The live version of nobody knows me kills!!

15 // Future Lovers // Confessions on a Dance Floor // 137pts.

Starting the Top 15 is 'Future Lovers'. To me the spoken intro marks the start of the album's journey; I'm not too sure how to go about explaining it but 'Hung Up' and 'Sorry' at the start are so big as singles that they're kind of disconnected to the rest of the album. Madonna must understand where I'm coming from as she used 'Future Lovers' as the introduction to her tour! It's one of my least liked on the albums but easily at least a 7/10.

14 // I Love New York // Confessions on a Dance Floor // 140pts.

It's cited as the album's guilty pleasure - the rhyming is quite child-like and lyrics like "other places make me feel like a dork" make me cringe a little, but I love the production of the song!

13 // Nobody's Perfect // Music // 150pts.

Vocoders are usually a big no no but I don't think it's that bad on 'Nobody's Perfect'. The part in the middle where there's no effects contrasts nicely too. The lyrics are pretty self-explanatory but nevertheless effective. Not a song I'd have considered ranking this high but it's pretty welcome all the same.

12 // Heartbeat // Hard Candy // 150pts.

I rank this about middle on Hard Candy, I enjoy it but the vocals get too whinny at times which is why I wouldn't listen through choice. It should be cringy but I do like the "see my booty get down like" bits.

Don't forget to celebrate 20 years since 'Take a Bow' here!

The Top 11 starts tomorrow so here's the remaining amount of tracks from their respective albums:

1 Like a Prayer

2 Ray of Light

2 Music

2 Confessions on a Dance Floor

3 Hard Candy

1 MDNA

I love New York beating the utter DISCO GLORY of Future Lovers is disgusting as is Heartbeat being anywhere NEAR this high. I like it, but good Lord it's not worthy to be top 40, let alone nearly top 10.

I agree with your commentary for 'Future Lovers' Liam. I will never understand why it didn't start the album - probably the only flaw in the tracklisting of an otherwise perfectly flowing album.

Omg the "see my booty get down" bits

Amazing.

HARD CANDY has the most tracks left? I'm sorry but did people use RANDOM.ORG for their votes. I cannot possibly fathom any other possibility.
^ that is quite shocking. Though two of the tracks I'm hoping to come i voted for and highly too. In fact my #1 album track is from 'Hard Candy' :o

11 // Gone // Music // 153pts.

This is my absolute favourite from Music. Another song that can be interpreted in many ways based on your own experiences, although the general message is of someone who walks away from a relationship as the partner wanted them to be something they're not. I particularly like the line "Why should I feel sad // for what I never had?" and I like how abruptly it stops too, seems to be have a better effect.

10 // Isaac // Confessions on a Dance Floor // 165pts.

I'm sad 'Gone' wasn't Top 10 but I'm very happy 'Isaac' got here! Its title is the English translation of Yitzhak Sinwani's first name, who sings throughout and speaks at the end of the track. It's a firm favourite from Confessions and is certainly one of mine too. Even at 6 minutes long, I'm still wanting more! That drop at 4:45 is just *.*

'Isaac' is definitely an album highlight. So original, fun and uplifting.

The lyrics are my favourite - poetic and never fails to bring about a load of different images for me whenever i listen.

09 // Till Death Do Us Part // Like a Prayer // 194pts.

This was the biggest surprise in Top 10 - for one, it's an 80s track, and for another, it's not one I've heard anyone say was a favourite to them. I'm thrilled it is here though. Whilst 'True Blue' showed the lovey dovey side to Madonna's relationship with Sean Penn, 'Till Death Us Do Part' shows the negative, violent side, which is odd as the sound of the song is anything but reflective of that. I do like the rhythm though, quite racy (I mean quick and lively rather than sexual!) and that supports the lyric "Our luck is running out of time".

08 // Impressive Instant // Music // 195pts.

'Impressive Instant' is probably in the bottom half of my ranking of Music but that's only because the top half is so high; I still find this a pretty good song, although I feel I should find all the vocal effects off-putting. Yet there's just something really enjoyable about the song. This was actually meant to be the fourth single but disagreements between Madonna and her team meant it was only released as a promo for US clubs.

I guess Devil, She's Not Me and maybe Voices are worthy of inclusion in a top 40 album tracks, but nothing else from HC should be this high. Isaac is alright, definitely the main weak point of COADF for me, but it's still an 8/10.
YAAAS at the other 2 being top 10 though, especially Impressive Insant, the true lost single from Music

I hate 'Isaac'. :( It totally mars Confessions for me.

'Impressive Instant' however I would probably say is my favourite Madonna album track. It's by far and away the key highlight of the Music era.

Let me guess, Hung Up will be #1.

This isn't even close to what my list of Madonna songs would be. This list is missing all of my favorites. I think there was maybe one.
