November 16, 201410 yr Author EP of the Year http://i759.photobucket.com/albums/xx240/MarthaJonesFan/Cover%20Sleeves/ReedDeming-SatellitesEP.png 1 Reed Deming - Satellites - 1-2-2-3-1-2-5-4-5-6-... (10+ weeks) Tracks in the singles chart: 01 Crash Test Dummy (Broken) 1-2-1-2-4-3-6-6-6-5-8-... (11+ weeks) 08 The List - 8-9-12-23-28-X (5 weeks) 09 Falling - 17-13-9-16-15-22-35-X (7 weeks) 10 Satellites - 10-17-27-36-X (4 weeks) So I didn't really want to include this in my album chart countdown, cause it's only 5 tracks long, but it couldn't go without a mention and deserves the title of my favourite EP this year. Reed Deming is a 15 year old American singer, who auditioned for season 2 of The X Factor USA but got knocked out at judges' houses by Britney Spears. Silly woman. Crash Test Dummy (Broken) is a song you'll be seeing much later on in the songs countdown, with three of the remaining four tracks also making the top 250, and my weekly top 10. The only song to not make it was a cover of Swedish House Mafia's Don't You Worry Child.
November 16, 201410 yr Looking forward to this  Hoping for Taylor to do well and Cheryl's tracks to slay EDIT: And Fancy  Edited November 16, 201410 yr by Ultraviolence1989
November 16, 201410 yr Author Albums of the Year http://i759.photobucket.com/albums/xx240/MarthaJonesFan/Cover%20Sleeves/EnriqueIglesias-SexandLove.png 20 Enrique Iglesias - Sex and Love - 5-7-4-8-12-13-X (6 weeks) Tracks in the singles chart: 10 I'm a Freak (feat. Pitbull) - 37-X-10-13-14-13-19-25-33-X (8 non-consecutive weeks) http://i759.photobucket.com/albums/xx240/MarthaJonesFan/Cover%20Sleeves/NinaNesbitt-Peroxide.png 19 Nina Nesbitt - Peroxide - 4-3-3-7-9-13-X (6 weeks) Tracks in the singles chart: 04 Stay Out - 4-6-16-25-30-35-16-18-23-33-X (10 weeks) 12 Don't Stop - 12-18-23-35-X (4 weeks) 20 Selfies - 20-31-X (2 weeks) 20 The Apple Tree - 20-X (1 week) Kicking off the albums countdown is a bit of a surprise really. I've never been that huge a fan of Enrique but I surprisingly really enjoyed his most recent album, helped by the great lead single I'm a Freak. Nina Nesbitt follows at #19, a good debut from her but suffers a tad from being too long I think - 20 or so tracks on the deluxe. Some real gems hidden in there though, and there's one song from it in the singles countdown that never made my singles chart!
November 17, 201410 yr Author it's still NOVEMBER tho wot Yes, mine happens in November every year :kink: Not entirely sure why but it feels about right, most of the new tracks I'll be enjoying until the end of 2014 will probably continue on into 2015 anyway ~
November 17, 201410 yr Author Albums of the Year http://i759.photobucket.com/albums/xx240/MarthaJonesFan/Cover%20Sleeves/Shakira-Shakirastandard.png 18 Shakira - Shakira. - 4-1-2-4-6-8-11-14-15-X (9 weeks) Tracks in the singles chart: 01 Can't Remember to Forget You (feat. Rihanna) - 1-1-3-5-3-2-3-7-11-14-19-22-26-30-34-36-X (16 weeks) 09 Empire - 39-15-34-X-19-9-14-21-33-X (8 non-consecutive weeks) 33 Dare (La La La) - 33-39-X (2 weeks) http://i759.photobucket.com/albums/xx240/MarthaJonesFan/Cover%20Sleeves/MariahCarey-MeIAmMariah.png 17 Mariah Carey - Me. I Am Mariah...The Elusive Chanteuse - 2-5-7-10-12-9-12-13-13-12-15-14-15-X (13 weeks) Tracks in the singles chart: 06 The Art of Letting Go - 6-13-23-34-X (4 weeks) 09 #Beautiful (feat. Miguel) - 39-36-38-37-10-11-11-10-9-12-16-14-9-15-20-22-26-26-32-33-38-X (21 weeks) 10 You're Mine (Eternal) - 10-13-19-21-38-X (5 weeks) 17 Thirsty - 17-18-24-27-32-31-X (6 weeks) Two artists here whose albums in the past I've paid little attention to (aside from the wonderful Laundry Service) despite my love for their singles, both Shakira and Mariah made the top 2 in my album chart this year. Shakira topped both the singles and album charts with her comeback, although I've not revisited the album much and I can't remember a great deal of it despite enjoying it at the time. Mariah's album wasn't quite as fabulous as the name, but what is? Enjoyable album nonetheless, although #Beautiful remains the CLEAR highlight.
November 17, 201410 yr Author Albums of the Year http://i1283.photobucket.com/albums/a556/jennacolemanfan/IfOnly_zpsd6ded3e2.png 16 Kylie Minogue - Kiss Me Once - 5-1-3-3-6-8-9-12-X-11-X (9 non-consecutive weeks) Tracks in the singles chart: 08 Into the Blue - 8-15-22-32-28-29-32-X-25-X (8 non-consecutive weeks) http://i759.photobucket.com/albums/xx240/MarthaJonesFan/Cover%20Sleeves/PalomaFaith-APerfectContradiction.png 15 Paloma Faith - A Perfect Contradiction - 2-4-2-2-1-2-3-3-5-6-8-12-14-15-X-14-13-X (16 non-consecutive weeks) Tracks in the singles chart: 02 Only Love Can Hurt Like This - 24-X-40-34-7-3-2-4-12-16-20-22-28-32-37-X (14 non-consecutive weeks) 03 Can't Rely On You - 3-3-6-14-29-35-35-30-28-16-21-30-17-21-26-32-X (16 weeks) 10 Ready for the Good Life - 10-21-X (2 weeks) 23 Trouble With My Baby - 23-24-36-X (3 weeks) A huge step-up in quality now with Paloma Faith and Kylie, both of whom I'd have thought would be top 10 contenders near the start of the year. Kylie's Kiss Me Once is a great pop album, not her best (out of the albums I've heard by her) and has some real duds (I can't forgive Beautiful and I Was Gonna Cancel), but some brilliant tracks such as Sexy Love, Les Sex, Mr President and lead single Into the Blue. I had high expectations for Paloma's album following a great lead single in Can't Rely On You, and it didn't disappoint, although I'd say I prefer Fall to Grace. Only Love Can Hurt Like This is a GEM though, her best song to date.
November 18, 201410 yr Author Albums of the Year http://i759.photobucket.com/albums/xx240/MarthaJonesFan/Cover%20Sleeves/BritneySpears-BritneyJean.png 14 Britney Spears - Britney Jean - 2-5-7-11-14-12-6-9-13-15-X-8-14-X (12 non-consecutive weeks) Tracks in the singles chart: 01 Perfume - 1-5-11-12-19-29-X (6 weeks) 02 Work Bitch - 2-3-4-8-17-29-25-32-X-30-X (9 non-consecutive weeks) http://i759.photobucket.com/albums/xx240/MarthaJonesFan/ArianaGrande-MyEverything.png 13 Ariana Grande - My Everything - 1-1-1-2-4-6-8-13-15-15-X (10 weeks) Tracks in the singles chart: 01 Bang Bang (Jessie J, Ariana Grande & Nicki Minaj) - 1-3-12-20-11-15-23-26-30-37-29-37-31-38-39-X (15 weeks) 01 Break Free (feat. Zedd) - 1-3-5-9-15-24-22-25-21-22-31-35-38-X (13 weeks) 01 Problem (feat. Iggy Azalea) - 4-1-1-1-1-2-4-7-10-12-15-19-25-32-33-30-27-15-18-24-30-33-38-X (23 weeks) The only victim of me starting my EOY chart earlier than the actual end of the year, Britney Jean falls into the 2014 countdown at a respectable 14th. It's a great album from Britney, one of my favourites from her easily, so many fab tracks such as Til It's Gone and Body Ache, two JAMS. Ariana Grande's had a fruitful year in Bellamia with three #1 singles and a #1 album, but the incredibly strong albums above it push it down to only #13 in this rundown. Definitely deserves higher as it's fantastic and a lot better than her debut for me.
