I really wasn't keen on this album to begin with, but over time it's become a real favourite. There's so many good tracks on there - for the most part it's the singles. 'Stay With Me' is definitely one of this year's best, and the Mary J. Blige feature version is just as gorgeous. 'Money on My Mind' is the only thing that I really don't like from this album, it's just painful to listen to and he shouldn't ever ruin my ears like that again. Other than that, solid début x Its chart run definitely isn't reflective of how much I like it either.

What would he be allowed to ruin though? http://www.buzzjack.com/forums/uploads/group_images/of_18_icon.gif

(But I do agree with you on that, can't believe it was a number 1!)

I absolutely *hated* Ella on The X Factor, but her début album is QUITE the revelation. It does drag on a bit when you're listening to it all the way through because there are really forgettable tracks such as 'Mirror Man', 'Pieces', 'The First Time' and 'All Again', but on the whole it's such a good album. 'Empire' is such a strong track, and both the choruses of 'Give Your Heart Away' and 'Beautifully Unfinished' are just stunning. And it's also nice that there's at least some up-beat tracks on the album as well, so she's not stepped into Adele's territory completely (yet).

Never was a fan of Ella's album at all, very samey for me. I agree with your highlight choice regarding Empire though, it really should be huge and the production is excellent from the beginning. Yours is a huge grower too but really quite beautiful, might give it another chance actually.

One of two EPs to make an appearance here (the other yet to come, any guesses as to what one? x), and it's the adorable Troye Sivan of YouTube fame. Had known him for a while, along with my other favourite YouTubers, and this EP is the cherry on the cake, so I can't WAIT for his début album. 'Happy Little Pill' is one of my songs of the year, and 'The Fault in Our Stars' is still beautiful, great to finally get a studio version. The other tracks range from 'v good' to 'quite alright'.

Can't believe you ever disliked Ella on the X Factor, but then you liked James Arthur so that says it all xx

The second and final EP to make an appearance here is 'The Secret' by the cutest of the cutest and hottest of the hottest (in one part of Twink Land anyway). All of his singles to date have been on point (with the exception of 'Banga! Banga!', and all of the songs on here are great to an extent. 'Till I Find You' could probably have fared about as well as 'What About Love' had it been given single treatment, but it's lovely as it is anyway.

And up next we have the newest, and long-awaited, instalment from J-Lo herself! Wasn't really anticipating the album a great deal after the tasters we got (particularly in the form of 'Same Girl'). 'I Luh Ya Papi' was atrocious to begin with, but over time I've come around to quite appreciate it. 'Never Satisfied' and 'First Love' are among the best things she's ever done though, so so good! And can we all just admit it's an utter CRIME that 'Live It Up' is not on this album - not even tacked on the end as a deluxe track, ugh.

This is one album I was SO ready for (but not ready for at the same time, because it kind of slipped under the radar until he announced it was gonna be coming v soon, oops) this year, and it certainly didn't disappoint. So many highlights on here. The singles are definitely a lot stronger than the album tracks, but there's one album that sticks out like a sore thumb, and it's the one feature. Natasha Bedingfield getting dat relevance *.* One of the songs that defines 2014 for me. Says a lot about the quality of albums this year when a three week #1 is already out.

Okay, so one of the recent albums in this countdown - and here at #12 is Jessie's best album to date. Definitely agree with the consensus that this is the album 'Alive' tried to be. 'Alive' was very much a great album, but this one is even better. 'Masterpiece' may be my favourite song of Jessie's to date, so so meaningful and then we have 'Ain't Been Done' that is one GREAT addition, introduction of imadoitlikeitaintbeendoneimadoitlikeitaintbeendone aside, lol. I don't think I'd rate any track on here below 7, there's some weak links definitely but certainly her most cohesive album.

Another #1 album drops off now, and this time it's Lea Michele's wonderful début 'Louder'. I'm actually shocked this did as well as it did and lasted as long as it did in my chart looking back, but it is a really great pop album! I remember seeing it getting a lot of criticism from journalists, but personally I don't see where any of it came from. A lot different to what we've seen of her on 'Glee', and this was the perfect way to get more people on board! 'What Is Love?' is easily the highlight of the album though, so so beautiful.
