Got to say I am not a fan of the new video (I didn't see it till I came home yesterday). I can see where they were trying to go with it but it doesn't fit what the song's about or Olly at all, and Demi is Captain Cringe Times with her acting in this.

Thankfully the song is still amazing and the music speaks for itself - can see this being a big hit indeed!

it's better than most of his videos tbh, that's not saying much though as he's been let down alot by directors in the past. Troublemaker etc.

Either that or he simply has no imagination for videos.
The directors come up with the concepts for most videos.

Not always. some artists do have input.

I really love 'Up'. One of his best for me. Hope it goes top 40 this Sunday.

wow it's only been out for a day & the vid for this almost has a million views! :o

Demi and her absurdly massive fanbase/25 million Twitter followers say hi.

almost 26m & yeah I reckon that's the reason!

This is my new jam. Can't wait for them to perform on X Factor!

Now up (pardon the pun) to #3 on iTunes, glad to see this is doing well :D

Performance on X Factor was disappointing for me however. Not on Olly's part - you could see him trying to get the crowd going and he was doing a great job.

Demi could have at least tried to make more of an effort than just being all 'LOOK! BALL GOWN! VOCAL RANGE!' etc. Olly mentioned recently that she was suggested by his management after his initial choice for female vocal on this fell through. I'm wondering who that would have been had it not.

Now see, 'Troublemaker' I disagree on. Because the video for that could have so easily gone down the predictable 'temptress in lace in a nightclub' route. The serially fired, bumbling employee route was original and offered a different stance on the song and what it was about and I still really like the video for that single.

The 'Up' video just rehashes several bits from similar videos for female/male pop solo duets - and I'll particularly place reference to 'When You're Gone' and 'Broken Strings' here - and just doesn't reflect what the song is really about, because it's actually a positive song when you listen to it.

Where that and 'Troublemaker' are different is because the treatment for it is just 'Oh look, male and female solo pop duo, let's get them warring with each other and breaking plates etc'. It's lazy. As I said I'm just grateful the single is still one of Olly's best and speaks for itself music wise.

What were you expecting?! She performed the song more than competently IMO.

Exactly  I mean I adore the song but it's not the most exciting or dynamic thing ever so what else could she have done with it?

Demi was FANTASTIC on XF last night, as was Olly and I'm no huge fan of his. Easily my favourite of his to date, glad it's set to be huge.
I thought the performance on X-Factor was extremely awkward, it seemed as if it hadn't been rehearsed and that they kept tripping over eachother's lines.

Olly himself has said he was disappointed in the Toublemaker video & it's not great. Bad acting, plain love interest, everything is bad about it. One saving grace is that it actually features the rapper lol.

The Up one is simple & it doesn't look cheap like most of his others. It is a positive song but if you listen to the lyrics, things aren't going well in the relationship. They shoulda probably featured the broken heart on a window pain etc but time & cost were obviously an issue. Two busy artists. I hope he works with those two directors again for his next one.
