December 11, 201410 yr YAYYYYY '2 On' Really should be huge officially too, but i don't think that's ever going to happen for her unfortunately :( glad you're loving the album too!
December 11, 201410 yr Dark Horse is the clear highlight of the Prism era for me too. Probably her third best single for me but ET/Dark Horse/Teenage Dream seem to swap every day for me. Took a while to hit me though, was never hugely keen when it was a promo single :o
December 11, 201410 yr Braveheart! Fantastic song, my favourite girl group single from the past 12 months (yes, I prefer it to Not Giving Up/What Are You Waiting For? :o ) Dark Horse & Fancy =
December 12, 201410 yr Author #7 FKA Twigs – Two Weeks 3yDP9MKVhZc (UK Chart peak #200) I've said this a few times but this song really is off my favourite album of 2014. This isn't even my favourite song off the album (Lights Off/Give Up anybody?) and it's made it to my top 10 of singles, so that gives an idea of how much I love this album. Trip-hop at its best. Higher than a motherf***er.
December 12, 201410 yr Author #6 Charli XCX – Boom Clap AOPMlIIg_38 (UK Chart peak #6) After loving 'True Romance', so much I've been a little disappointed with the direction Charli XCX has gone in. Her newer polished sound is just too "run of the mill" for me. However, 'Boom Clap' is a standout. (though 'Superlove' was also great) and from what I have heard of the new album, she won't be topping this anytime soon. Sadly 'Boom Clap' just about missed out from my top 5, but it is an absolute anthem regardless, shame it has been paired off with that cheesy teen flick. Edited December 15, 201410 yr by MistleJoe.
December 12, 201410 yr Boom clap is amazing  It is so catchy and great, I also love the stuff I've heard from sucker as well so far :)
December 13, 201410 yr 'Boom Clap' and 'Two Weeks' are both sensational. Was disappointed at the former's album but she gave us that which is enough for me <3 Excited for the top 5 :o
December 13, 201410 yr Two Weeks is absolutely stunning and just continued to grow on me with every play. It is the best song by her for me but Give Up / Video Girl are second and third for me  Boom Clap's chorus is so huge, really hoped Sucker would be just as good but the reviews seem to suggest otherwise and BTR was little underwhelming too.
December 15, 201410 yr Author #5 Marina And The Diamonds – Froot WZzcY7ASQno (UK Chart peak #N/A) This woman. Though I'm slightly annoyed at her release strategy, one of the most exciting parts of quarter 4 has been Marina & The Diamonds. I'm totally buying the visual and metaphorical concept of the FROOT era. What makes it all the more exciting is that she came back with such a massive song. 'Come On Fill Your Cup Up...' Amazing. Another radio airplay omission, but that can't stop me from absolutely loving this single. Edited December 15, 201410 yr by MistleJoe.
December 15, 201410 yr Froot  Glad it did well here! Definitely under-rated, I really wanted this to go top 100 :nocheer: I still don't think that Marina's company actually sent the single to radios which ultimately lead this to being a flop. I actually think it's a promotional single and that's why it didn't get a proper push? I absolutely agree though, this Era is such a hit for me
December 15, 201410 yr Author #4 Taylor Swift – Blank Space e-ORhEE9VVg (UK Chart peak #4) Storming my top 5 is Starbucks loving Taylor Swift with her second entry in my chart. With what is battling to be my favourite Swifty song of all time, Taylor's second single from 1989 is a huge stomper which grows with each play - it quickly evolves from being 'quite good' to 'very good' and then to 'OMFG THIS IS ADDICTIVE'. It's also accompanied by a brilliant music video. which is mostly just brilliant because I'm in love with the model
December 15, 201410 yr apologies for having a pavel moment but -- marina and the diamond's foot? have you got a fetish for singer-songwriter's limbs?
December 15, 201410 yr 'Gunshot' feels like one of the more upbeat tracks off the album and it's now used to sell cars. Oh wow Gunshot, never actually heard anything from her before but I heard the song on an advert and it instantly attracted me and I reached for my phone and shazamed it immediately. Late (both to this interaction and 'Gunshot' in general) but I was on Youtube last week and an ad came up for Peugeot (?) with the song and it completely hit me round the face with its excellence that I had to DROP EVERYTHING so to speak and pause it (imagine pausing a Youtube ad :o) to find out what it was. Interestingly a load of the comments on the official video for 'Gunshot' are about the car ad bringing them there - just shows you the impact of that form of promotion. Anyway I really love this and wasn't at all disappointed with the full thing. Beautiful track
December 15, 201410 yr I really need to listen to Marina's stuff is era as I like her but haven't heard any of it :kink: STARBUCKS LOVERS AT 4   Definitely one of the best songs of the year and I agree that the video is superb (and as 3rd in my video countdown for this year)
December 16, 201410 yr Froot & Blank Space. Adore blank space! Really. Up there with her very best! I had noticed what to expect after Shake It Off but Blank Space is an amazing follow up and I prefer it to the Former! Great countdown so far :cheer:
December 16, 201410 yr Good to see the love for Ben Howard, FKA Twigs and the Elliphant, Haim, Tove Lo & Tom Odell songs in here. Edited December 16, 201410 yr by RabbitFurCoat
December 16, 201410 yr Froot is nice but not keen on Happy. She's not really slaying me this era like she has in the past, hopefully her album is still good. Blank Space is fantastic, I agree it is so addictive. Definitely her best single for me, not sure if she'll ever top it either. Her best efforts a pretty fab too though, 22
