December 17, 201410 yr Author Black widow is also amazing  It is! Sadly couldn't make the 100 though, only one Iggy appearance in there, you already kno-oh what it is :music: Some really good stuff I know in here so far, interested to see what's high up as you're always good for the odd excellent discovery. Pleasing to see the likes of Paperwhite, Mainline Mussy, James Bay and Henry Krinkle appear. someone else who likes Paperwhite! They were a nice discovery a few months ago, their new single 'Pieces' is great too~ hope u like the 100 Don't Look Back was a so catchy but tbh Control >>>>>> . One of the best singles this year, dnb is one of my favourites sub-genres of dance so hoping for some more big dnb tunes from them in the future. Black Widow is a great pop tune too, definitely Iggy's best. Hoping Rita comes back with some more great material too, would hate for her career to be ruined because of Calvin :( Speaking of Calvin his album really is fantastic and as you mention, I agree that Pray To God needs to be heard by erry1, such a good fusion of artists. both the M&F singles were great, almost inseparable in terms of quality although DLB just edges it for me as the vocalist is better Iggy's best is the ever underrated Beat Down for me, and Work remains my fave of her solo singles. Shame about Kris Menace missing the top 100. Really close though! Probably one of mugabe bjsc entries all year. Brilliant list of near misses though <3 Kris Menace was a great discovery so thanx 4 that, shame I couldn't place it in the top 100 but competition etc Any chance of Jeremih in the top 100?? 'Loyal' on the other hand is far too low :oAs great as Don't Tell Em is it missed my top 200. Loyal gets too much hate here, definitely one of Chrs Brown's best. thanks guys http://www.sherv.net/cm/emo/christmas/smiley-says-happy-holidays-emoticon.gif

Her smooth vocals and the chilled production really make this work as a song, and it builds perfectly up to where you really feel her 'crying out for more' in the climax of the song. It was great that this was the song that broke her curse of never having a UK top 40 hit anyway. At #99 is FKA twigs with her best song to date. Having been introduced to her by BJSC with the songs 'How's That' and 'Water Me', I was intrigued as to what she would come up with next, and it was this grower of a song, Two Weeks, which appeals to me in a similar way to 'Tough Love', but its production is slightly more edgy which places it just ahead. It wasn't gonna be long before we first hit EDM in the top 100, and so at #98 we have Wonder by Adventure Club, a song which passed me by until it was entered into BJSC (a few more of those to come). It was an instant favourite and got my 12 points, what a beauty of a track. Gorgon City's first of two entries, or their only entry if you don't count 'Right Here' as one of their songs, is the deep house smash Here For You, which doesn't stray too much from what we're used to hearing from them, but works very well. I'm probably one of the few who prefer this to their massive hit 'Ready For Your Love', but the vocals on this are more appealing, so it is a shame that it didn't last very long in the chart. Hopefully 'Go All Night' doesn't suffer the same fate (that is yet to chart with me but could certainly make an impression soon). Finally we get to what is unarguably the most recognisable song in this section, Fancy by Iggy Azalea, which by charting makes this the 3rd year in a row she has made my Hot 100. Slay a bit. I can definitely get behind a swagtastic song like this, even though the chart run doesn't suggest it as it was a bit of a grower/trickle seller for me, it is the best thing she's released since 'Work'. ◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊ Recap: #96 Iggy Azalea feat. First released in 2009, but didn't chart anywhere on buzzjack until Persephonia brought the song to everyone's attention. And we of course thank them 4 that because this is a real banger and has packs of emotion at the same time. With the gunshots and strings giving it a sad feel, the drum n' bass beat reminds us that there is hope in these times. Overall an amazing instrumental which feels very fresh despite being so old (needless to say this is the oldest song in the countdown as most of the songs here have a release date of 2013/14) Another (nearly-an-)instrumental up next, this time from Michael Calfan with Prelude. It is the first Spinnin' Records related song of many in the Hot 100. And it's evident why this was released on the biggest dance music label in the world. Its piano chords in the drop are instantly catchy especially when put together with a stringtastic buildup and a v. banging dance beat. We have Kathaldazia to thank for this discovery anyhow, although it is likely I would have discovered it myself considering I'm a big follower of Spinnin' Records and the Beatport chart. Either way it is a brilliant tune. The song contest related songs keep on coming, except this one comes from Unknown Pleasures. Ironic now considering Shift K3Y has since gone on to UK chart success but I entered Make It Good into the first UP of 2014. Another great house tune with use of the piano (my fave instrument incase you didn't know/guess) and a fresh drop. Would definitely recommend it if you haven't heard it already especially if you like 'I Know' (still to come). DJ Fresh is one act who has had continued success with me in my EOY charts, having appeared in every one since I started doing them: 2010 (Gold Dust), 2011 (Louder), 2012 (Hot Right Now/The Feeling/Gold Dust), 2013 (Earthquake) and now this year with Dibby Dibby Sound. Ha consistency ha real. Whilst not being his best song ever it gets the right dose of the fun factor for me which I love. A good effort from him considering moombahton isn't really my fave sub-genre (Skrillex's Bangarang remains the best by far of that sub-genre though). An overall not very commercial hoe friendly section as we end on another song that did not chart. It did go to #1 on Beatport though. Hook N Sling isn't really a producer I'm a huge fan of but he really impressed with Tokyo By Night, helped of course by Axwell on the remix. Good melodic progressive house isn't something we get too much of now with big room and deep house having taken over the past year so I'm glad Axwell has stuck to what he knows best and he really delivers here. ◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊ Recap: #91 Hook N Sling feat. It's how a ballad should really sound like, instead of boring me to sleep it keeps me interested the whole way through with its production values. The main highlight though, of course is Katy's vocals, she really showcases her vocal and lyrical talent here. It's great to hear a subject matter like this done in a pop song and it works so well. deadmau5 is at #89 with album track Pets. The album wasn't up with his best, having missed my top 5 of the year whereas 2010 effort '4x4=12' was my fave of that year. At least we got this track though, which is just deadmau5 doing his classic progressive house thing, showing us why he's one of the most respected producers in the game. It's long, at 7.5 minutes, but worth every second for the way it builds and progresses throughout. #88 is unknown producer Tez Cadey with Danaelanda BJSC entry Seve. A catchy house song which I discovered from browsing house music YouTube channels, this instantly stood out for its memorable melody in the drop but keeps my interest with the chanting in the middle section. Definitely check this out if you haven't heard it already. Far from unknown now with Pryda at #87 with the progressive house Lycka which appeals to me in a similar way that Pets does. Repetitive as it is, it works so well, and with Prydz being one of my favourites ever of course I was gonna love this, with it not departing from his usual style. #86 is a song from last year but I didn't put it in my chart then so here it goes now, Revolution is a great mix of melodic buildup and a bassy drop which R3hab and Ummet Ozcan are known for. I'm still not sure where NERVO come into this but I guess they helped produce the melody so good on them. Not such a fan of the vocal mix so I've linked to the instrumental version here, as that really focuses on the production of the song. ◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊ Recap: #86 R3hab, NERVO & Ummet Ozcan - Revolution #87 Pryda - Lycka #88 Tez Cadey - Seve #89 deadmau5 - Pets #90 Katy B - Crying For No Reason ◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊ • click the artworks to hear the songs on YouTube • certifications: gold = 250k, plat = 500k

Paloma Faith 21-9-4-4-4-5-7-20-39-41-41-x 06 Sigma ~ Nobody to Love 20-26-x-12-6-9-24-31-x-43-x ◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊ At #85 is house jam Everybody Be Somebody, originally a 90s tune by Ruffneck but was remixed by rising house duo Lucas & Steve to become a massive hit on Beatport and in my chart. Not much to say about it other than it's a real bopp~ :music: Continuing the chart is Showtek at #84 with the Miley-inspired We Like To Party, it doesn't actually sample her vocals thankfully. Featuring the big hard room sound they're known for it was one of the first big club hits of the year and it still impresses now. Let's forget the vocal version ever happened though cos that really ruins it. One of the most recent songs in the chart comes from David Guetta, with the first of 3 entries, Dangerous is very different for him which pleased many including myself. Of course it helps that the production in this isn't lazy, but then again I do love some of his uninspired songs. The Robin Schulz remix of this is also worth checking out. MK at #82 with Always, except it's not the original from the 90s, like with Everybody Be Somebody earlier on it's been remixed for 2014, in this case by Route 94 who makes it sound very up to date and giving it a catchy house vibe which I love. Onto drum n bass now with Nobody To Love by Sigma. Taking a bit of Bound 2 and making it a happy upbeat song was always gonna work, and I'm especially glad they kept the 'a-ha honey' sample in there. They would go on to top it with Changing though, more on that later. ◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊ Recap: #81 Sigma feat. December 18, 201410 yr Author Tough love and two weeks are both great and here for you is one of my favourite Gorgon City songs but I barely listen to any of them very often. Fancy is of course stunning and definitely one of my favourite songs this year  But dibby dibby sound is a racket and terrible :puke2: :puke2: this Dibby Dibby Sound hate :hand: Thought you'd approve of Fancy being in the chart ;) Crying for no reason is absolutely stunning and I finally got round to buying it 2 days ago. I love that song so great to see it here  Katy B in general is so lush  Nobody To Love was my Jam early this year :music: I didn't know it was sampled from a Kanye West (diabolical) song :o did u not :o at least Nobody To Love doesn't sound like 2 different songs put together like Bound 2 (lol) 'Seve' is a MASSIVE grower and Nobody To Love is incredible ~ yay for another Seve fan in this thread! It was quite instant for me actually but it is brilliant. Agreed with NTL too, standard drum n' bass but I love the piano melody in it
December 18, 201410 yr what are you referring to by CanCon? Google doesn't help here as it links to some Canadian broadcasting law.I was talking about "Wonder" lol "Dangerous" is growing on me a lot, sad that it's going nowhere in the US now :(
December 18, 201410 yr Dangerous is very good and nobody to love was definitely one of the best dance songs this year  But always is terrible :(
December 18, 201410 yr Author I was talking about "Wonder" lol "Dangerous" is growing on me a lot, sad that it's going nowhere in the US now :( I didn't know Adventure Club were Canadian lol. doesn't stop Wonder from being a tune though. David seems to be very hit and miss over there, at least Titanium was a massive US hit as that's my all time fave of his  Dangerous is very good and nobody to love was definitely one of the best dance songs this year  But always is terrible :( Always does feel repetitive but I do love it. Yay for the Dangerous/Nobody To Love loving though, two brilliant tracks (just wish Dangerous was released on a less competitive week so it could've had a higher UK peak)
