With beautiful vocals accompanied by stripped back production in the verses, it makes for an uplifting moment when the drop comes. Generic as it may sound, the crashing synths sound absolutely lush and make the song really work. Back to deep house now at #59 with Jess Glynne with her debut single as a lead artist Right Here. With her strong vocals over a deep bassline and a saxophone added for further listening pleasure, it's a pop song in the style of deep house, so obviously I was gonna love it. She has 2 more entries further up the chart. Another David Guetta entry, this time it's Showtek collab Bad at #58, which is far from what the title suggests imo as it's so good! You can really hear the Showtek influence on this one as their style is so banging! Gotta love the very computerised vocals of Vassy too, all round a catchy tune. I couldn't deny The Chainsmokers' viral hit #selfie, and it enters at #57. It's a very interesting hit, with the girl saying all these 'ratchet' (for lack of a better word) clichés over a banging beat. Unsurprisingly it got a lot of hate but I appreciate it for the novelty tune it is. Ending the section is Grimes with EDM inspired Go. It's got amazing production and sounds so fresh and different amongst the rest of today's EDM, which was his aim for the Worlds era. At #54 is EDX with the sublime Breathin. With what is best described as deep progressive house, it's just all round amazingly chilled, plus with standout lyrics like 'take my love beside your lungs, so you can be breathin' underwater' which just add to the all round beauty of the song :wub: Stay tuned for his instrumental Reckless Ardor later in the chart. The big new genre of the year has to be future house, helped into the mainstream by Oliver Heldens of course but with one producer comes a few others, and Tchami has become a big name of his own this year with this style. He appears at #53 with Untrue, I weirdly love the mysterious non sensical vocals, plus whatever that sound is called when the beat drops just elevates it to make for a real listening pleasure. Nicki Minaj enters at #52 with the insanely addictive Anaconda. It's just so fun and it's the kinda Nicki I LOVE. No more words needed. Yet another fresh sounding deep house song at #51, this time for Jenny Mayhem & The Fuzz Orchestrator with their remixed Bad Girls. One of the more obscure songs in the chart, the lyrics are very interesting and elevated with the dance rhythm, especially the drop which takes an unexpected turn, but one I really love. December 24, 201411 yr omg yes selfie, another lover of it! it's so beautifully quotable and actually quite enjoyable to listen to. definitely one of the best viral hits in recent times i think. breathin was a very nice song, was kind of expecting someone to send it to bjsc down the line. think it could have qualified. anaconda yaasss definitely her iconic moment with that video too, incredibly fun and love the raps too. future party staple surely bad girls was a lovely discovery so thanks for sending that, i like how different the drop is. one of your best entries but they're all pretty fab really ain't they?

It was a bit of a non-#1 but remains an excellent deep house tune, it's just so refreshing. Another novelty tune up next, Jason Derulo's Wiggle which is irresistibly catchy. Haters to the left. Jason's parts are essential but it wouldn't be what it is without Snoop Dogg who gives us some iconic rhymes *_* The beat is amazing too. The fifth of 8 Danaelandan BJSC entries in the top 100 (2 missed out) is the progressive house banger Fire Breather. With quirky vocals from Laurel and rising production duo Nexity's touch gives it the much needed life into the track. Sia is at #47 with a pop song that no one can deny. Chandelier gave her a massive hit and it was so deserved, her voice is stunning and so is the song itself making for an all round brilliant song. Back to bangers now, Martin Garrix makes an appearance at #46 with the thumping beats of Wizard, which works as a follow-up to Animals despite it not being as good. It was a great lead single to what was unfortunately a disappointment of an album (didn't even listen to all of it lawl). Another great trance meets progressive house moment, the production is amazing and it's good to see The Voice UK's Bo Bruce doing dance songs as I loved her on the show and she really suits this song. You can really hear the emotion in her voice, but my favourite part has to be the instrumental section between the first and 2nd choruses, wow that is so lush. Ella Henderson had one of the year's big hits with Ghost, but at #43 is the remix version by Oliver Nelson, who just adds the GROOVE factor into it, it sounds so fresh. I loved Ella in X Factor and was wondering if she'd get a career, and upon hearing Ghost I was impressed (and obviously even more impressed with the remix). Great voice, great lyrics. Shame about her follow ups, which haven't made my chart leading to her being DROPPED by her Danaelandan record label (Mirror Man AGOG). Also where is Oliver Nelson with his follow up?!? Would like to hear more. The song that needs no introduction up next, Happy was the year's biggest hit in the UK but only makes #42 here. I do love a funky upbeat/uplifting tune which is exactly what this is. WD Pharrell. Just missing the top 40 is Zeds Dead with the banging house tune Lost You, introduced to me by Ethanola in BJSC of course.
