Ooh, love all of those in that section! Glad you explained what's up with the chart runs as they do look misleading :P

Justice for LGF2 :snif: I adored this song early 2014 but definitely haven't played this since about April-ish time so I see where you're coming from with it becoming old. HOH trumps it any day

Ultraviolence is NICE! I agree with you about it'#s haunting chorus. Fab

Don't tell Um is such a guilty pleasure.

Haus: I was shocked at it taking off here really but I am glad it did, without a video too :o

SMG is definitely better than Night Changes for me at the moment but I definitely think that could change. You & I > Kiss You > the rest though

Dan: Clarity is still his best but I loved STN too, seems he is quite a decent producer after proving himself again with Break Free.

UV: Glad you're enjoying lots of the choice, really glad Oblivion got a chance to shine but I do wish Weight Of Living got a bit of a push too. I knew you'd be v happy at the Lana inclusion too.

Riser: I know, they look awful don't they? Ah well, can't change my poor decisions in the past  Glad you're enjoying it.

Neil: Aw, reminds me of your iconic old username  #bringitback

I'd like the song now if I heard it on the radio but I never get the urge to go stick it on at all. I agree, HOH >>> (hint at what'll be appearing later :cheer: )

Joe: Tell me about it, it's not the best song ever musically but how can you resist :drama:

Thanks guys!

086. Last Night - The Vamps (38-46-x) 2 weeks

087. Don't Stop - 5 Seconds of Summer (34-22-15-33-x) 4 weeks

088. Louder - Neon Jungle (14-17-10-5-4-18-x) 6 weeks

089. Partition - Beyoncé (5-3-4-4-2-18-34-42-43-44-x) 10 weeks

090. Empire - Shakira (11-14-25-31-39-38-43-x) 7 weeks

Last Night: This is definitely my favourite Vamps single, they're probably my favourite boyband at the moment because they just keep producing huge pop tunes like this. The chorus to this is just one huge hook and really upbeat. More of the same in your second era please lads.

Don't Stop: 5SOS' best single now, this is definitely the single that reminds me the most of Busted which is obviously fantastic. The video was very nicely themed too, really gutted this didn't also reach #1.

Louder: Neon Jungle's best single next (I see a theme emerging), this is a lovely ballad and quite a different direction for them. Shame it sort of ruined the hype they had going for them but I love it so I guess that's good.

Partition: This is a track I was loving for quite a while and then quickly went off it, not really a highlight from the album but that's because I think the album is so strong. This is still a very good single but I see more hype for it online that it deserves personally.

Empire: Shak's second best single this era for me, the chorus is just heavenly and it struck me immediately as being a lovely pop song with a bit of a twist. I think it's executed really well and who can deny her voice, it's so interesting

Empire and partition are both good and louder and don't stop are the best songs by their respective artists. I love the latter but I am glad it missed #1 as ghost deserved another week at the top :)
Last Night is actually my favorite Vamps song :D I don't know why but I really warmed to the song when I first heard it and it's probably my favorite of theirs yet! Cecilia is still one that I haven't really liked :/

UV: Yes good taste with your faves from NJ and 5SOS, me too! Ghost is abymsal though so no :(

Neil: The Vamps' don't have very experimental songs but I've loved them all, they're all just great pop tunes.

Thanks!

081. White Walls - Macklemore & Ryan Lewis (feat. SchoolBoy Q & Hollis) (10-x) 1 week

082. Lovers On The Sun - David Guetta (feat. Sam Martin) (7-4-6-8-3-1-6-49-x) 8 weeks

083. Show Me - Kid Ink (feat. Chris Brown) (N/A)

084. Love Too Deep - Ferreck Dawn & Redondo (37-25-39-33-31-27-32-48-47-xx[3]-48-x) 10 weeks

085. The Heat - Jungle (30-23-10-25-23-23-35-48-x) 8 weeks

White Walls: Yet another victim of my T10 chart, this is probably my favourite Macklemore song, this or Same Love. This wasn't really that big here in the UK sadly but it didn't stop me from loving it, the video was lots of fun too.

Lovers On The Sun: This sounds just like an Avicii single but that's what makes it so good, this is what he should be making and not crap like The Days. Ah well, this had quite a sharp descent from #1 in my chart but it's still a nice song to listen to when it comes on the radio.

Show Me: This song really passed me by at the time hence it not charting at all in my personal chart, thankfully I picked it up later in the year and it became another fantastic urban jam for me. Main Chick was another great single from these two as well, wish that got a bigger push..

Love Too Deep: This was my first real BJSC discovery and as you can see from it's chart run I really loved it, a great dance tune and I began loving it again after it's commercial release. Sadly it never made top 40 officially but thanks for the discovery Dan!

The Heat: Jungle are one of my favourite new bands to emerge this year, I think they make like soul music or something along those lines but it's all very feel-good and easy to listen too and this is their best single for me, hopefully they continue to get R1 support and a big 2015.

Edited by jsanta

Jungle  Possibly my favorite new artist this year!

Not a fan as such for Lovers on the Sun but Martin's voice sounds uh-mazing on it! LMAO at that huge drop in its last week

Oh wow, that section! "White Walls" is a huge fave of mine too, it never got old and the chorus is just spectacular. I listened to some of Hollis's other music recently and found some gems.

"Lovers On The Sun" is awesome, deserved a better chart run officially as well. Also excited to see "Show Me" here, very underappreciated! Kid Ink seems great and I agree about "Main Chick" :D

oh my GOD I fell so far behind. Let me try to keep up now ~

'Show Me' and 'Love Too Deep' are both stunning so it's nice to see them here. Let me go reread the thread so far! :D

SMG is definitely better than Night Changes for me at the moment but I definitely think that could change. You & I > .... the rest though

YES YES YES i agree.

Liking 'Last Night', 'Louder' (just missed out on my chart ) and 'Partition' <3

'Show Me' is fab too. One of my go to swag moments B-)

Lovers On The Sun: This sounds just like an Avicii single but that's what makes it so good, this is what he should be making and not crap like The Days. Ah well, this had quite a sharp descent from #1 in my chart but it's still a nice song to listen to when it comes on the radio.

Incorrect

Lovers On The Sun is great though but not up with Avicii's best productions

Love Too Deep  Gonna be VERY high in my EOY chart~

Jungle are quite good but I never really caught onto them.

White Walls is quite weak compared to Mack's BIG hits, hope he comes back with a chart smash soon

Neon Jungle Louder is re only one I like from those two sections :o. I

not sure of NJ will have massive success though since it looks like Trouble was more of a one off for them

Neil: definitely one of mine too. sams voice is very nice i agree, hope he has some more features to come and maybe even something solo (although i see he is in a band). and yeah oops i think i just got tired of it very quickly..

Riser: ooo i'll have to listen to more of hollis, i agree the chorus is the best part. the raps are good too from mack. wish LOTS stuck around longer in the charts too, hope it isn't completely forgotten in the future though.. seen kid ink has a new album out in 2015, here's to more urban/hiphop jams

UV: Busy Earnin is nice but Time/The Heat are much better for me, their album is quite similar too so therefore good as well.

Math: Love Too Deep is really stunning, glad Dan provided us with that discovery.

Haus: Show Me is a v swag song indeed, bit like Don't Tell 'Em in that respect. Hoping 1D keep on making actual good music like they have done this era, beginning to really enjoy their music at the moment.

Dan: v correct, i think thats why they scrapped it tbh, too bad to even be put out there. Love Too Deep is such a tune and by far has the longest run of any BJSC discovery this year for me, thanks! I'm shocked you even like Jungle a little bit, didn't think they'd be your thing at all but glad you like 'em a bit. Same Love/White Walls are my two faves of Mack's. TS/CHU are way too unbearable now due to overplay :( liked them a lot at the time though

James: oops hope the tunes pick up from here for you then, wish they had a more successful debut era but i thnk that may be it for them now.. fickle industry i s'pose.

071. Tsunami (Jump) - DVBBS & Borgeous (feat. Tinie Tempah) (18-xx-37) 2 weeks

072. Love Me Harder - Ariana Grande (feat. The Weeknd) (15-14-26-35-xx[1]-31-15-21-5-2-3-...) 10 weeks (so far)

073. Tough Love - Jessie Ware (43-xx[1]-27-18-14-39) 5 weeks

074. Heart on Fire - Indiana (23-31-19-12-15-20-43-28-50) 9 weeks

075. 7/11 - Beyoncé (9-1-4-6-...) 4 weeks (so far)

076. Am I Wrong - Nico & Vinz (20-24-33-24-12-5-6-12-10-4-9-33) 12 weeks

077. Video Girl - FKA twigs (10-4-1-13-42) 5 weeks

078. Stay With Me - Sam Smith (43-xx[1]-36-xx[3]-44) 3 weeks

079. Our Time - Lily Allen (15-29-36-31-29-27-18-40) 8 weeks

080. Drunk and Incapable - Krishane (feat. Melissa Steel) (23-4-2-5-32-50) 6 weeks

Tsunami: This didn't really hit me at the time and my love for this still continues to grow, I think Tinie's addition makes this better too. The drop is very refreshing as well.

Love Me Harder: Definitely Ariana's best single (not highest here though as this was compiled a couple of weeks ago). The production is just so atmospheric and her vocals are beaut as always.

Tough Love: Talking about beautiful vocals, this woman HAS it. Production is fab too, glad she really grabbed me this year.

Heart On Fire: While I did like Solo Dancing, I never really got the mass hysteria behind it which other buzzjack members seemed to feel but i absolutely loved this. her vocals really shine on the verses and the chorus is very strong/catchy too.

7/11: Sadly this is still quite new so not as high it could be but this is a huge guilty pleasure, I shouldn't love it but I adore it. Packed with strong hooks too.

Am I Wrong: Always liked this from first listen but grew on me a lot once I heard it more on radio, sadly we heard it LOADS on radio so overplay has killed it a bit for me but still enjoying it :cheer:

Video Girl: The 'ahah oohooh' things in this are just stunning, as is all of her music really. this was always an album highlight so i was glad to see it be a single

Stay With Me: this clicked with me way too late for it to have a good chart run but i can reflect my love in this eoy chart. one of the voices of the year provides this excellent ballad with lovely choir voices in the back too

Our Time: Lily's best single this era, loved the video and the relaxed vibe to the song. Take My Place is still the best thing from this era but thoroughly enjoyed this as a single too

Drunk and Incapable: melissa with her easy-on-the-ears vocals appears here, krishane is nice too but this song is just good as a bop tbh

lol im too tired/lazy to do proper commentary, thanks for your comments

Nice section there.

Tsunami I find works so much better without the rapping, it made my top 20 of 2013.

Love Me Harder is alright but doesn't stand up to Problem or Break Free. At least she's turned into a good popstar this era

Tough Love is brilliant, far better than Say You Love Me but I know you think differently.

Stay With Me is good although a bit tired of it from the overexposure.

Forgot how Our Time sounded like oops, don't remember it being that good though

Krishna's voice ruins D&I for me :( Melissa Steel's voice is lush though~

Some amazing songs here. Tough Love, Louder, Empire
