So this seems to be a massive shock judging by the predictions as The Veronicas storm into #6 with their beautiful ballad and comeback track You Ruin Me. The song was another OA/OS release in my chart and debuted in 3rd place before reaching a new peak of #2 two weeks later. The song has spent a massive 14 weeks so far in the top 10 culminating in a gross of over 1.5M. The only positions in the top 10 that is has missed is #1 and #10. A massive comeback hit for the twin sisters

Lily Allen's big comeback album may have not lived up to the highlights of the 2nd album [which sold 9.7M] but Sheezus was massive success that has sold over 1 million copies and has had 3 weeks at #1

So kicking of the top 5 is Kristen Bell and potential #1 contender Idina Menzel with For The First Time In Forever from movie masterpiece Frozen. The song spent 4 weeks at its peak of #2 and is the highest song in this countdown to not reach the number #1 spot. The track spent 20 weeks inside the top 10 despite never hitting the top spot and 36 weeks inside the top 40. This is definitely one of my favourite songs from Frozen and it has sold over 2 Million total sales

I absolutely adore Ella's debut album Chapter One which spent 2 weeks at #1 in my chart and has shifted over 1.3M copies since mid October. The album would have spent 8 weeks at #1 if 1989 didn't exist as it has spent 6 weeks in the runner up spot behind Taylor's 5th album. There are many album highlights including Ghost which is still to come and Mirror Man and Empire which I hope both become singles :wub:

All of your last set is fabulous! I agree that 'Sheezus' wasn't QUITE as good as 'It's Not Me, It's You' but still a very, very good album. And of course I'm a sucker for everything related to Frozen and The Veronicas so nice to see both of those so high up :heart:

We had double Christina earlier on and now we have a double dose of Queen Lana Del Rey. Nothing amazing had really happened for me with music in 2014 apart from Let It Go so when I first heard West Coast, I fell in love with it absolutely immediately. The song clocked up 3 weeks at the top spot and 15 weeks in the top 10 and 31 weeks top 40. This was a well deserved and gigantic hit for Lana and West Coast has sold 1.76M and should go 3x platinum in a couple of weeks

And the albums overtake the single sales as the 2nd best album of 2014 has sold 1 million more than Chapter One. I absolutely adored Ultraviolence and I bought the physical on opening day but I had to walk home for half an hour as my bus was on strike that day [i have a similar story with 1989 and Frozen as well later]. The album is a stunning masterpiece work of art with my highlights being lead single West Coast [as above],Ultraviolence, opening track Cruel World and the beautiful Money Power Glory. Definitely one of the best albums this year :wub:

So we reach the all important top 3 and in 3rd place is where Ella Henderson resides with her debut smash hit Ghost which has sold a whopping 2.080M copies since June. The track was a long runner at the top by spending 4 weeks at #1 and Ghost hung around forever spending 18 weeks in the top 10 and 30 weeks inside the top 25. Ghost also spent 3 weeks at #11 and had one of the biggest opening weekends with 261k. I am so glad Ghost has been such a big hit because it is so stunning :wub:

And my favourite album of 2014 was released too late in the year to get the number 1 but 1989 anyway ends up smashing into 3rd place after only 2 months and selling just under 300k. The album has spent its 1st 9 weeks all at the top spot and it debuted to over 600k which is the highest ever sales in a debut week for an album. Anyway the pop masterpiece contains many single choices such as the stunning and haunting Wildest Dreams and Out Of The Woods to the enchanting I Know Place, shouldn't have been deluxe tracks New Romantics and Wonderland and catchy pop numbers such as Bad Blood and AYHTDWS. I adore every track on this album apart from I Wish You Would and 1989 is definitely one of my favourite albums of all time already :wub:

Paloma scored her biggest album hit yet with A Perfect Contradiction which has gone 11x platinum and has sold 3.3M copies since March. It was the album that knocked Frozen off its perch and spent 7 non consecutive weeks at #1. The track also spent weeks at #2 [5 weeks], #3 [5 weeks], #4 [3 weeks], #5 [5 weeks], #6 [2 weeks], #7 [2 weeks], #8 [5 weeks], #9 [7 weeks] and it hasn't reached #10 yet. The album has spent 40 weeks in the top 10 this year and includes highlights such as the beautiful OLCHLT, the catchy Can't Rely On You and an array of other amazing album tracks. Even though I love this album, it should probably be between #3-#5 in this EOY countdown.

And the biggest selling album of all time in my charts is the Frozen compilation which gets the #1 spot here and features classics such as let it go. I also love the score from the movie with my highlight being Vueile [i don't know how its spelt :kink:]. This album includes the amazing vocals of Idina Menzel And Kristen Bell. The album has spent 16 weeks at the top of the album chart [it was top from 6th December till 2nd March]

I'm sorry to all the Taylor lovers and Idina haters but it wasn't even close one bit as Idina has sold around double of Taylor this year but Taylor is so unlucky as SIO would have been the biggest selling single in 2010,2011 and 2013 in this decade and it beat last years EOY winner by over 1 million. By the time it has finished its run it will be in the top 3 for this decade so far behind Let It Go [?.?? sales] and may overtake Black Heart in 2nd [6.21M]. I absolutely adored Shake It Off from first listen and it has over 150 listens on my Phone and 220 listens on my IPod and probably about 100 more listens at least from other device. The song is so catchy and very addictive, definitely one of the best this year and I absolutely adore the lyrics by Swift which I know them all off by heart and Max Martin's production is amazing. The song had the 2nd biggest opening singles weekend ever in my chart with 802k and spent 7 weeks at the top spot. The song also spent 4 weeks at #2, 5 weeks at #3, 2 weeks at #4 and 1 week at #5 which is the lowest position it has ever been in which is remarkable for an August release. The song has spent 19 weeks in the top 5 already and continues to sell bucketloads. I adore this song so so much and following the official chart broadcast today, in my chart it is also shake it off then let it go being played [albeit both 12 places higher than those positions].

It takes a lot for a phenomenon to come along in my chart. Arguably there have been many massive hits but Because Of You by Kelly Clarkson is the biggest ever which has sold 22M and spent 20 weeks at #1. The 2nd biggest selling single has now sold 10.1M so if you see the total sales figure, you can tell this is Idina Menzel's classic hit Let It Go from movie blockbuster Frozen. The song spent 18 consecutive weeks at #1, 37 weeks in the top 5, 49 weeks in the top 10 and 56 weeks in the top 20. The song debuted at #4 in early December before climbing to #1 which started a number #1 run going to late February with a one week break to mid March. The song also returned to the spot for a couple of weeks in June after a Britain's Got Talent performance by Jodi Bird and 1 week in October after Lauren's Platt performance on X-Factor. The song first fell out on the week I was on holiday in August I believe but Idina's classic always finds a way to sneak back in. Let It Go is a powerful, spectacular, amazing, stunning, fantastic, beautiful, wintery, superb, super, great stunning song and it is definitely one of my favourite songs ever and I am glad it is #1 on my EOY countdown for 2014 :wub:
