December 24, 201410 yr Author However flopfan for Idina + Shake It Off  . The former was 1,3 and 7 in my chart and the latter was 79 place higher than you in mine  I'm not exactly a Idina fan in general though so I'm not a flop fan really :kink:
December 25, 201410 yr Author Top 3 ALBUMS (oh yes I'm doing this based on what albums I have bothered to listen to this year) #3 Iggy Azalea - The New Classic http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/81nDZODvc1L._SL1400_.jpg So I liked some of Iggy's stuff last year like 'Work' and 'Bounce' but it wasn't enough for me to became a big fan until the album came along and may I add what a fantastic debut album it was. I only really gave this a listen out of curiosity based on 'Fancy' which was smashing the chart when it got released around this time. Most definitely the best rapper in some while, yes even better than Buzzjack's favourite Nicki Minaj. The next single was 'Black Widow' featuring vocals from Rita Ora, accompanied with perhaps one of if not the best music video all year round. It's safe to say that she had plenty more tunes on the album and I liked the majority so it's definitely an album I'd recommend to anyone who likes Iggy but not enough to check her album out! Highlights Work Fancy Black Widow Bounce New Bitch Goddess Don't Ned Y'all Edited December 25, 201410 yr by HONKBONKXMAS
December 25, 201410 yr Author #2 Paolo Nutini - Caustic Love http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/71o66HBqbgL._SL1425_.jpg OKAY so Paolo may not be so likeable on this forum but I'm in the majority who loves his music :magic: (SNS) :smoke: Possibly one of the better returns to music for me this year, he returned Funking up the chart once again like he did 5 years back with 'Scream' which was a little bit different to what we normally hear from Mr Nutini. He then followed it up with others great songs, the lovely 'Better Man', 'Let Me Down Easy' and 'One Day', the latter proved to be the biggest grower for me after not finding it that great when I checked the album out but it was the live performaces at R1 Big Weekend, Jools Holland & Glastonbury that actually improved my thoughts on the track and now thinks it's brill. Although not as good as previous hits Scream and 'Iron Sky'. Which leads me to this sensational performance at the live Abbey Road Live Sessions. ELKbtFljucQ This was hugely praised by Queen of the chart Adele who said... and I quote 'One of the best things I've heard this year'. I completely agree with her too. Literally spell bounding performance with his signature authentic raw vocals! He also managed to score a 2nd UK #1 with the album. One would think that Paolo hasn't missed a beat in his 5 years abscence. December 25, 201410 yr Author BTW Taylor is automatically placed 4 after hearing her album today :) will need to re listen to a few songs that I found forgettable but most of the instant grats/ singles are fab and Ella Henderson's at 5 with Chapter One, every single on this is perfect and so many wonderful highlights of the album. Right my #1 Maroon 5 - V http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/5/53/Maroon_5_-_V_(Official_Album_Cover).png Quite simply the best album I've heard all year and I'm a bit surprised because if you go by 'Maps' as the lead single then you will find that my interest for this M5 album was reducing and when I mean fast.. I mean FAST haha, purely cause I assumed it would be the same old same old but to my delight they actually bothered to experiment around unlike a certain other band 'Cough (The Script) Cough'. 'Animals' was the 2nd single and was accompanied by the very bizarre and some might say disturbing video . It proved to be a hit in their home country the good old United States of America by racking them up their top 3 single of this era thus far. Elsewhere on the album are the free giveaway track 'It Was Always You' which is by a long mile my favourite song off this album. Most notably the song that represents a big change in sound bringing in electro synths and more flasetto to make this sound very anthemic. Other highlights off the album for me were... Leaving California Feelings In Your Pocket My Heart is Open Excuse the shoddy commentary, I'm tired whilst typing this up so forgive me for some jumbled up words haha. I'm just hyping up to my countdown a bit more Edited December 25, 201410 yr by HONKBONKXMAS
December 26, 201410 yr excited! not really listened to any of those three albums so can't comment sorry :(
December 26, 201410 yr Author excited! not really listened to any of those three albums so can't comment sorry :( Not even Iggy :o i guess you preferred Nicki's then :kink:
December 27, 201410 yr Caustic Love and especially The New Classic are very good  Though can we swap numbers #1 and #4 :) One is one of the best albums ever and the other is another terrible Maroon 5 album with not even 1 good song [at least the last one had the amazing moves like jagger] So excited for the countdown tomorrow :cheer:
December 27, 201410 yr Author Oh I disagree on M5 obviously :kink: like I said I was pleasantly surprised by how good I found the album as I didn't really have high hopes for it. Maps and 3 other tracks are a few duds on it but I enjoyed it a lot so each to their own I guess :) the other two are brilliant albums and Paolo especially gets a hard time on the site for me. He's not that bad really. I'll give Taylors album another listen this week as I'm sure I'll love it much more. Thanks Ultra :D
December 27, 201410 yr Author Rob's Smashdown Top 200 Countdown :w00t: 191 / The Vamps - Can We Dance / Peak #22 - 3 Weeks 192 / Christina Perri - Trust / Peak #23 - 3 Weeks 193 / John Legend - You & I (Nobody In The World) / Peak #25 - 3 Weeks 194 / Hozier - Take Me To Church / Peak #25 - 3 Weeks 195 / Jessie J Ft 2-Chainz - Burning Up / Peak #26 - 3 Weeks 196 / Lily Allen - Hard Out Here / Peak #26 - 3 Weeks 197 / Idina Menzel Ft Michael Buble - Baby It's Cold Outside / Peak #27 - 3 Weeks 198 / Say Lou Lou - Better In the Dark / Peak #27 - 3 Weeks 199 / Sophie Ellis Bextor - Young Blood / Peak #27 - 3 Weeks 200 / Calvin Harris Ft Alesso & Hurts - Under Control / Peak (this year) #27 - 3 Weeks So first up we have the first appearance of a couple by DJ Megastar, Calvin Harris. This was his 4th #1 as a solo artist (which he does best ;) ) if you exclude 'We Found Love where Rihanna was the main artist. It was also his first single from his 4th studio album, Motion. Sophie Ellis-Bextor gets a surprise little dose of chart glory after many years of not really being the big chart star she once was and guess what? It's all down to Strictly. Bravo! Indie group Say Lou Lou enter with their debut single 'Better In The Dark' at 198, it was a good little change of music for me as this sorta isn't usually or used to be my thing. Look Ultraviolence... LOOK WHO IT IS NEXT AT NO.197..... None other than Queen Idina Menzel :kink: and to a lesser buzzjack favourite extent, Michael Buble who released this surprisingly decent rendition of the Cery's Matthews and Sir Tom Jones wintery classic, 'Baby It's Cold Outside'. Sadly this will be Idina's only appearance. No sign of 'let It Go' :( Lily Allen's late 2013's release, 'Hard Out Here' places 196th on the countdown. Jessie J is someone who has massively declined for me, in fact it's kind of a off then on then off pattern as I didn't like her debut single but loved PT & NP but ever since being a judge on The Voice UK I seem to gotten quite irritated by her existence which probably explains why 'Burning Up' is quite low for a Jessie J track compared to dominating days in 2011 & 2012 respectively. Up at 194 is the debut single by Irish born singersongwriter, Hozier. The very religious and dark, 'Take Me To Church'. John Legend's flop follow-up to the MAHUSSIVE phenomenom that is ' All of Me', 'You & I (Nobody In the World) sits at 193, prepare yourselves people because mega overplayed smash is still to come ^_^ Finally we have an album track by Christina Perri at 192 from the excellent album ' Hand or Heart' (shite I left this out when doing the top 3/5 albums of the year :( ) 'Trust' is one of the clear highlights for me since it's her 1st of 4 entries inside my top 200. Finally teen boygroup The Vamps are at 191 with their debut single from last year... almost getting to #1 officially back in August of last year, 'Can We Dance'. December 27, 201410 yr Hey Robert :cheer: 191 / The Vamps - Can We Dance / Peak #22 - 3 Weeks 194 / Hozier - Take Me To Church / Peak #25 - 3 Weeks 196 / Lily Allen - Hard Out Here / Peak #26 - 3 Weeks 197 / Idina Menzel Ft Michael Buble - Baby It's Cold Outside / Peak #27 - 3 Weeks 198 / Say Lou Lou - Better In the Dark / Peak #27 - 3 Weeks 199 / Sophie Ellis Bextor - Young Blood / Peak #27 - 3 Weeks 200 / Calvin Harris Ft Alesso & Hurts - Under Control / Peak (this year) #27 - 3 Weeks Brill list to start off with. Young Blood obviously the most gorgeous here!
December 27, 201410 yr Fabulous start here with The Vamps, Lily, CHART SAVIOUR John Legend and Hozier! :D
December 27, 201410 yr YAY that we have started here :cheer: Can we dance is a great boyband song and my favourite by The Vamps, take me to church is stunning and I am glad it is becoming big now, the Christina and Sophie tracks are stunning, burning up is very good and baby it's cold outside is a great Christmas cover which Queen Idina shines on (obviously :kink:). We nearly have the same peak for the latter (it was originally 27 but I think it got a week at 25) John legend though :puke2: Thank god it is not that screech of me (which is not a chart saviour Joseph ) but this is still bad On a better note, Hard out here :cheer: :cheer: Definitely one of my favourite songs of the last few years, it is such an amazing comeback track and song
