so i compiled the chart and we're starting this fabulous countdown yassss. getting the first bunch out of the way we meet porter robinson's song which should've been sent to bjsc instead of that sell-out one; le1f released the hey ep this year and it was rather fabulous. 'wut' is utterly fabulous and 'sup' isn't that far behind. very interested to see where le1f ends up in the future. hopefully a new smash is on the way; marina's 2nd single made it to top 100 even though it's only been out for 2 weeks. pretty crazy. the album is going to be a bomb and #1 spot better be vacant before she comes in and takes it this time next year. quote this bitches; persephonia's bjsc entry which made it to top 5 in the regular chart is one position above. the vox mix isn't doing the song much justice but i love it nonetheless; mr.kitty is perhaps one of my favourite discoveries of the year. the entire music catalogue is so strong. and he doesn't have a record deal or a proper label. you really need synthpop with dark lyrics sung by a queer artist in your ipod library sometimes; one of the late 2014 discoveries for me was willow beats. clean interesting 'now' sound, great image, everything to be popular in the indie scene really. but there's been like no hype for it which is sad; arcade fire and the controversial 'we exist' (due to the fabulous video) is #93 despite it being the 2013 release technically. but who cares; 3rd ceo entry of the chart 'omg' is #92 and eurovision's flop twin twin are one place above the swedish genius.

despite peaking only at #26 in the chart ema's 'satellites' finishes 90th in this bitch. it happens y'all; the polish entry for eurovision this year which peaked at #3 earlier this year is 89th; the current #4 on chart and 88th overall in 2014 is the chemical brothers/miguel duet from the latest 'mockingjay part 1' ost; tv on the radio's first appearance in this chart is with 'careful you' which currently holds #9 on chart; dvw's parody song 'blurred bynes' is one place above. sadly, the trio had broken up earlier this year but that didn't mean we wouldn't get new music from the drag race royalty. and let's be honest we only cared for them because of willam. now that she's with courtney act and alaska, it makes my boobs feel relaxed; my former bjsc dnq is #85. sadness all around because it's a gorgeous gorgeous song; wife's last appearance this year is the album's closing track 'further not better', the last 10 seconds of which became so ikonec that without those 10 seconds i would probably not have cared about the band/album oops; zhala's stoner anthem is #83; i didn't even know troye sivan was a youtuber before he was a singer. the ep is soooooooooo good. especially the two particular songs, including 'touch', which finished just outside the top 80. another song is yet to appear so watch that space; fka holds the 2nd best record for most appearances in the top 100 of this chart with 6. iamamiwhoami are present in the top 100 with 11 songs. but now that we're up to #81 and their song is yet to appear i guess we should say 11 song in the top 80 now v fka's 5. still not bad. first song is 'video girl' and ironically i am yet to watch the video. bye

so the q1 gay anthem that says f*** you putin is #80. first song i have ever bought on itunes too! yay; iamamiwhoami's bonus track 'dive' officially only available to islanders is placed at position 79; my bjsc61 entry is next. it's an upbeat kooky track so y'all are crazy for not loving it but loving 'hey qt' for example. boo u whores; sohn's highest entry in this list is 'bloodflows'. a very classy pleasant fresh track with soft vocals. production really blows everything else out of the water though; espen's bjsc61 entry is placing higher than my own one! despite peaking just outside the top 10 it reached 75th place; lydia ainsworth's 'malachite', my latest up entry and a deserved top 10 finish, is next. it also peaked just at #11 and is still on chart. maroon 5's comeback single 'maps' really brought my attention back to the band once again after their last album in 2011 which was in my opinion a total case of missing the mark; tijana and macedonian best eurovision entry ever is #72. i sadly couldn't make it to see her live but she didn't do the song much justice at the contest. however, i still adore the studio version and hope macedonia will keep up the good work and send something amazing for the third year in a row!; banks' sissy that walk anthem 'beggin for thread' that peaked at #4 earlier this year is almost top 70.

industrial intrumental ambient eleganza is next on the list. very happy bandcamp allowed me discover this band. both of their eps were very enjoyable although i loved 'acid rain' better by faaaar; the midnight were also my bandcamp discovery. they actually placed 2nd in bjsc69 too which was quite a shock to me even though people kept telling that it was always going to happen. another entry i'm really proud of. and if not for the Cheapyr Muunilinster i'd have bagged myself a 6th win and 3rd in 2014. damn u john; yet another bandcamp discovery and 30th place finish in bjsc belongs to $waggot. his queerness goes beyond himself, it transfers to his songs and to anyone who listens to them. i hear a few people got into the whole gay thing because of him. yay gay power! #hetero2homo and it needs mentioning that it was soooo close to being #69 which would be an amazing touch *.* elliphant/moe collaboration is 67th. never was a huge fan of either of them so it's great to finally be able to say that i love something by moe oops; trust's comeback single 'rescue, mister' completely blew me out of the water in q1. what even was life without trust! speaking of alfons, i got you covered lewww. some yammy fan hoe tried to get him but i told that skank that he's already yours. i think he backed off but you never know them gaiz; ben frost is the final bjsc entry of mine for this ten. sadly it DNQd but its impakt still remembered~; adore delano was one of the most surprising hits for me this year. all 3 songs of hers that i charted this year debuted inside the top 10 with my address is hollywood' having the highest peak of 5th place. all in all, yo dragalina faves could pretty much neva

we are opening this b with 'rival dealer' which also placed 20th in last year's ye chart despite being only available for just a couple of weeks. it never fails to give me goosebumps, just like the rest of the ep; how to dress well's 'face again' is 59th. the album is officially 3rd best of the year and this is one of the two songs appearing in the chart; caribou's 'our love' (the album) really grew on me over time. it leaked about 3 months before release and all of the excitement about it i had prior to the leak vanished by the release date oops. this song is a completely underrated jam. it's not as obvious as a lot of his more instant songs. but it's worth the wait; another former bjsc entry of mine is at #57. a random find turned bjsc qualifier and 17th place in bjsc. it famously made #3 in persephonia's bjsc ye chart last week; oskar linnros holds the record for having one of the most persistent and resilient entries in the chart this year. not only it re-peaked after spending 8 weeks on chart but it did that gracefully and left the chart peacefully having made the #impakt. she's sexy and she knows it; adore delano's final entry for this list is at #54. having released the first single from the debut album almost immediately after drag race was a very smart move. i'm taking bets for her winning the all-stars, if it's going to happen. everyone now knows that she is easily capable of that and if not for bianca del reina (means queen in portuguese~) she'd have been crowned as winner already tbh; okay so kiesza's hype got me as well. 'hideaway' didn't chart but it made quite an #impakt so an extra spot in this list had to be made to accomodate this need. soz holly herndon but it was kiesza that bumped you out of the top 200. the closing track on 'sisyphus' is the highest song for the trio in this bitch. the last spoken line on the song (and therefore the album) is absolutely amazing and makes the song! i love the craziness of the rapping style that serengeti has too. suffy can stay with them for a while to record one more album but he should get back to solo material tbh. we missed you, come back xxx

ben frost with one of the best industrial eleganza releases of the year finishes in 50th place with a weekly top 3 'nolan'; caribou make their final appearance with the highlight of the album 'back home' which only peaked at 16th place but left a lasting impression on me; former #1 clean bandit and love ssega's telephone banking is #48; danish indie synthpop band de dødelige with their track 'det har jeg' managed to get a fabulous 47th place but the fellow scandinavian ceo beat them and settled for a 46th position with 'whorehouse'; marina & the diamonds' highly anticipated first single from new album 'froot' makes an appearance in the top half of this bunch. sadly it's by far not her best position in the ye chart. 'hollywood' bagged 2 positions in both 2009 and 2010 ye charts, 'i am not a robot' was #37 and 'obsessions'/'mowgli's road' finished at 5th place in 2009 while 'radioactive' got to 8th place in 2011. marina has been top 200 in ye charts every year since her debut in 2009, this year making it her 6th in a row; next we have fka twigs' double appearance with top 5 smashes 'closer' and 'give up', both stellar tracks lingered in the weekly top 10 for a bit before leaving; evian christ's jammy 'salt carousel' and a german 2-week #1 'auf uns' by andreas bourani just didn't make it to top 40 and had to settle for 42nd and 41st places respectively.

say hello to mr.kitty's penultimate song in this bitch, a track that is now very much associated with the death of my grandmother earlier this year so I don't like to listen to it much anymore for obvious reasons. it's still absolutely incredible though and not one of those instant songs that hit you from the first 10 seconds; fka twigs' collaboration with americans inc. that preceded the release of her solo debut is #39. both artists have similar aesthetic and musical styles so it was a very successful project and a fabulous start of 2014 for twigs; perfume genius with a stunning atmospheric emotional instant-as-a-heart-attack 'no good', which is by far the strongest track on his 3rd lp released this year, is #37. this is the example of a song for which i love him as much as i do; taylor swift makes her first ever appearance in the ye chart this year because she finally decided to release something groovy and fun and amazing. 'shake it off' is one of the traditional cheesy pop mainstream entries that enter my ye top 40 for the 3rd time. this year there are even two of those. iiris' incredibly catchy 'tigerhead' is the second one. it's usually so not my cup of tea but the song just works. can't accuse me of being anti-cheesy pop/mainstream now~ ; the latest 2 back2back number ones of the weekly chart are in positions 33 and 32. 'love stained' and 'alchemy' spent 3 weeks at #1 in total and 'alchemy', which took no less than eleven weeks to climb to #1, is looking like to be the last #1 of 2014; one of how to dress well's softest and most melodic album tracks, 'pour cyril', is 31st. it was a pleasant surprise to hear such a fragile piece from him. it's partly why i placed the album as high as #3 in the albums chart for this year! so fab

30 Clean Bandit | Mozart's House (feat. Love Ssega) (1-2-3-5-10-18-24-35)

 

okay, so every song in this bunch peaked in the top 7 with 9 reaching top 3! so it's getting tougher and tougher to count the tracks down. former #1 clean bandit's 'mozart's house' is the first song we get rid of; a wild fka twigs appears again, this time with a fabulous top 3 hit 'kicks'; iamamiwhoami's last single off 'BLUE' and first song of the entire iamamiwhoami project is #28. this is one of the 3 runner-ups of the weekly chart from the album; mr.kitty peaks at #27 with former bjsc top 3 hit and persephonia's favourite bjsc entry of 2014 'destroy me'. coincidentally before i even discovered this fabulous american synthpop artist i started calling my (female) cat 'mister kitty'. because really your basic cats could neva; owen pallett's fabulous first single off 'in conflict', 'riverbed' places at #26; iamamiwhoami's 6th single off 'BLUE' and first only-second place of the album, 'thin' finishes in 25th; rupaul took a bit of time before climbing to #1 but when he did he stayed there for 3 weeks in a row and bagged himself a pretty damn respectable 24th position in this chart. some may say it's a trashy song but i won bjsc with it and haters can go eat my poo quite honestly. i know what real art is bye; nik & jay's classy utterly stunning collaboration with danish sensation de dødelige, 'novembervej pt. 2', finishes at 23rd position. danish language track might've been my #1 last year but this time the highest danish track shoutout goes to them. such seamless and perfect production the mountains would probably kill for. your swedish faves could neva. well some could. and did; ceo's last track in this bitch is in 21st place which is only 2 positions off his record of 2011, #19 with 'illuminata'; trust's 'barely' also ends the run for the canadian synthpop indie artist this year. the closing track on 'joyland' ends up in 22nd place which is exactly the position for 2012's 'sulk' that kickstarted my love for this project.

one of the most down to earth performers yet to walk this planet probably. in person she's extremely likeable and nice yet comes across as powerful and fierce on stage. still kicking myself in the nuts for not taking a picture with her when she walked right past me at the eurovision final rehearsal *.* i will meet her one day so it doesn't really matter much~~ anyway the song is so amazing. took a bit to grow on me but being in cph so close to where the action was taking place was extremely powerful so the song eventually topped my weekly chart. amazing winner, amazing artist, amazing eurovision, amazing experience and amazing year all round *.*

lorentz's 'robyn fenty' which is rihanna's actual name is the 2nd highest non-english language song this year. it's an incredibly catchy fabulous album track from an otherwise bleak debut solo album. oh well, it's only his first time and a few of his songs proved to me amazing so hope is still there. i wonder if rihanna heard the song. i'm sure that she hadn't though because she ain't gonna listen to some basics from sweden i mean come awn. she probably didn't bother to listen to that desperation anthem 'walks like rihanna' as well and it was way more mainstream. anyway, despite the cheesy name, 'robyn fenty' is a fantabulous track. there was no studio version of it on youtube but go buy it on itunes u whores

how is he a vlogger first and a pop sensation second exactly?!? surely it has to be the other way round. the ep was so good. this song is so good. discovered him a bit late into the process but oh my god it was worth it. gotta not judge people and their appearances before listening to stuff from now on. who knew this twinky cody simpson-esque cheeseface could do something as utterly fabulous as this song! floored. love love love. want moar

after last year's sensational smash 'bo peep' shlohmo & jeremih decided to released yet another collaboration called 'no more' which was a massive success as well despite a moderately low peak of #5 on weekly chart. shlohmo's production was so fresh and jeremih's vocals blended with the track so well. everything about the idea of the two guys collaborating just worked. until the whole ep was released which seemed to only have 'no more' and 'bo peep' as the highlights and by far best tracks. but that's another (sad) story so let's rather focus on the positives.

so this is the last yammy song to have not reached #1 of the weekly chart. although it was a particularly close situation that week so let's just call it an 'very-almost-#1'. groovy larger than life video adds another dimension and a lot of personality to otherwise seemingly a merely interlude-esque type of song a la 'u-2'. it's probably yammy's most fun track. and seeing how jonna immediately goes from 'ripple' to a depressing sad anthem 'the last dancer' on the album shows how genius she is. #whenwillpixie #theanswerisnever

your basic sannas could neva. ace might not have fun melodifestivalen this year but had she done that she'd have at least come 2nd at eurovisoon and outplaced sanna nielsen. maybe even beat conchita too. and seeing how this song is higher than conchita's i think i'd have preferred that scenario as well despite the gay pride thing and all. insterestingly this is only the 2nd highest eurovision-related track of the year. the highest eurovision entry was conchita so that only means there's one national final flop waiting to appear. ooooh excite who dat who dat

so next we have a pavel ye first! 'come down to us' makes the top 20 in two consecutive years. number 6 in 2013 and number 13 in 2014. i think that says it all really. perfect song that is slowly becoming one of my favourites ever.

fka's 2nd single, 2nd #1 in my chart and one hell of a track is finishing 12th in the 2014 race. it managed to climb to #1 after spending 5 weeks elsewhere which is quite a big deal for this chart. high expectations and all~
