December 3, 201410 yr Author Seriously people... we're talking about The Loving Kind, right? Mid-table on their singles list at best? The rather inferior version of Call The Shots? The song Nicola quite rightfully doesn't think all that much of? :( *Exits thread*
December 3, 201410 yr Author I just wanted to sound overly dramatic. http://www.buzzjack.com/forums/uploads/group_images/of_18_icon.gif I LIKE the song of course, but I don't think it deserved to win this. There's far more interesting tracks on the album than this one, and it's not one of their better singles, not for me anyway.
December 3, 201410 yr It's a superior 'Call The Shots' in every way for me, much more depth. Nicola can't help having bad taste in music, bless her.
December 3, 201410 yr Author I don't know how anyone can think that, but never mind. :snif: :heehee: I think one being their 3rd best selling single and one barely making the Top 10, save for loons multi-buying copies, says it all anyway. *.*
December 3, 201410 yr Different circumstances. :P In 2008/2009 it was nigh on impossible to get into the top 10 with a post album single.
December 3, 201410 yr Author Mollie says hello! ylJ7eNrvrug :kink: This actually climbed from #6 to #4, it was on its second week of full release in the week that Girls Aloud climbed to #10. I know 'Out of Control' sold a LOT more than 'Chasing Lights' but I don't think that totally excuses the chart performances of 'The Loving Kind' and 'Untouchable'. There must have been quite a lot of post-album hits during that time period, surely? Another post-album single above them in that particular week was Kings of Leon's 'Use Somebody'. Edit: And Beyonce's 'Single Ladies' & James Morrison's 'Broken Strings' were both post-album singles higher than them that week too!
December 3, 201410 yr Those were exceptions, I remember most people around that period did struggle (there was P!nk at the same sort of time with 'Sober' who performed similarly). I think with both of those it was a case of the previous single overshadowing it, which caused those to struggle. In terms of overall sales it didn't do so badly though!
December 3, 201410 yr I love The Loving Kind! The only thing that I wish is that Nicola/Kimberley's(Then Nadine) bridge bit was repeated in some way a second time (not necessarily the same lyrics) in the song after the next chorus. I feel as though the second half of the song is nowhere near as interesting as the first. Edited December 3, 201410 yr by MistleJoe.
December 3, 201410 yr It's a superior 'Call The Shots' in every way for me, much more depth. !!! I love TLK but REALLY!? one of the reasons i love it is the lack of depth, the simplicity of the lyrics/music etc. Call the Shots is their masterpiece and offers SO MUCH MORE ALY YOU SILLY BEAN :drama:  Untouchable would have been my one to win this, but just happy The Promise didn't do it.
December 3, 201410 yr I agree that Call the Shots is better than TLK but that's not taking anything away from the latter, it's a wonderful track
December 3, 201410 yr FULL RESULTS 1. The Loving Kind 2. The Promise 3. Untouchable 4. Miss You Bow Wow 5. Revolution in the Head 6. Love Is the Key 7. Rolling Back the Rivers In Time 8. Turn to Stone 9. Love Is Pain 10. Fix Me Up 11. Live in the Country 12. We Wanna Party
December 3, 201410 yr 'Call The Shots' is superior to 'The Loving Kind' in every way. The middle eight from Call The Shots is probably Girls Aloud's/Nicola's finest moment.
December 3, 201410 yr You've FINISHED ALREADY. I've only just found my passport! http://www.look.co.uk/sites/default/files/imagecache/scaled_620px_wide/nadine-coyle-main_3053283r.jpg
December 3, 201410 yr Author The loving kind is really good but the promise should have won :( Agreed! :( Adam!! Thanks for posting those Joseph, a generally good set of results overall.
