70 Demi Lovato - Neon Lights (#8 peak)

69 Olly Murs ft. Travie McCoy - Wrapped Up (#4 peak)

68 KYA vs. LDN Noise - What I Live For (#19 peak)

67 Reigan - Dog Days Are Over (#1 peak)

66 The Vamps ft. Demi Lovato - Somebody To You (#8 peak)

65 The Veronicas - You Ruin Me (#5 peak)

64 Becky G - Shower (#4 peak)

63 Miranda Lambert - Automatic (#3 peak)

62 Ariana Grande ft. Zedd - Break Free (#2 peak)

61 Little Mix - Little Me (#1 peak)

Fittingly, the man who's known for THOSE tight silver trousers during his performance of A Fool In Love on X Factor as well as his arse being a thing of wonder is at #69. Ha. Joining him are the first two of four Demi entries, both a collab and a solo song (she has one of each to come), including a collab with a twinky boyband :o Tbf it wouldn't be here without her! We also lose two of my personal chart #1s from Factor Australia's Reigan's Judges' Challenge week perfomance of Florence & The Machine, which was recorded in full for her debut, as well as the highest of my BJSC entries, which was my first top 5 since Dia Frampton's Billy The Kid in January 2012! What I Live For doubles as yet another X Factor Australia alumni too, as KYA is the new moniker of 2011's sixth place contestant Chrisrina Parie (who I'm not over Mel B ruining but that's another story) following her move from pop/rock to DnB/dubstep.

Great sections Liam

Wrapped Up is really good but one of his weakest singles I think because his discography is brimming with great pop tunes. Shame it missed #1 though but the circumstances are understandable..

Shower really should've been bigger here. Perfect summer song and the la da di's are so euphoric they just make me happy. Hope she makes something as good as this again but seems unlikely even if her latest single is nice too.

Yes Yes Yes at Becky G and Ariana!

I never liked anyting Becks released, but Shower is phenomenal, as is Break Free but I adore Ariana so :smoke:

Lauren's best perfomance, and one of the best of the whole series <3

Agree completely, it's great but doesn't live up to most of his usual standards!

Yea, totally agree there too! It seemed like it could/should be a huge hit, especially as it did well in the US/Australia.

I didn't mind her before but Shower is so much better than the rest of her material!

60 RuPaul - Sissy that Walk (#5 peak)

59 Ed Sheeran - Don't (#2 peak)

58 Ella Henderson - Glow (#3 peak)

57 Jessie J ft. Ariana Grande & Nicki Minaj - Bang Bang

56 Charli XCX - Boom Clap (#12 peak)

55 Idina Menzel - Let It Go (DNC)

54 Vance Joy - Riptide (#18 peak)

53 Dami Im - Super Love (#11 peak)

52 Little Mix - Salute (#6 peak)

51 Neon Jungle - Braveheart (#4 peak)

Next up is the fabulously gay anthem Sissy That Walk from the iconic queen of drag RuPaul. This song won BJSC earlier this year for Pavel, rightfully so *.* There are also some of the year's biggest UK hits in this section, including an Ed hit about Ellie Goulding cheating on him, a massive collab between Jessie J, Nicki and Ariana and a soon-to-be million seller from the film Frozen that didn't even make the top 10 performed by Idina Menzel. What's impressive about the latter's placement in the top 60 here is that it didn't chart in my personal chart, but is higher than some #1s! Also present are Dami Im's wonderful pop track Super Love, Neon Jungle's ballsy club track Braveheart, Little Mix's feminist anthem Salute and Glow, Ella Henderson's understated follow-up to her megahit debut.

65 The Veronicas - You Ruin Me (#5 peak)

64 Becky G - Shower (#4 peak)

63 Miranda Lambert - Automatic (#3 peak)

62 Ariana Grande ft. Zedd - Break Free (#2 peak)

61 Little Mix - Little Me (#1 peak)

Look at this adorable pattern!!!!

I was just going to comment on how much I love them all and randomly noticed that

HELLO catching up again ~

Great to see those two Little Mix songs here - 2 of their best very easily for me <3 'Boom Clap' is amazing too, as are 'Let It Go' () and 'Somebody To You'.

The most love for 'Braveheart' though  such an underrated masterpiece!! This is getting good now with that as the latest song so bring on the top 50 :o

Don't is fantastic, maybe is best ever single for me. He's good at both uptempo and slow songs, very talented man. Glad that 2014 has been his year and he's just defeated all competition in the UK because the whole album is excellent and he seems like a lovely chap too.

Let It Go is a very big guilty pleasure too, I don't find it screechy at all really and I just like it as a pop song  So catchy and fun to belt out too :funky:

They're not their best for me exactly, but they obviously slay or they wouldn't be here *.*

Things only get better :kink:

50 George Ezra - Budapest (#13 peak)

49 FKA Twigs - Two Weeks (#5 peaks)

48 Meghan Trainor - All About That Bass (#11 peak)

47 Jessica Mauboy - I Believe (#1 peak)

46 Ryn weaver - Octahate (#2 peak)

45 Helena Paparizou - Survivor (#3 peak)

44 Sia - Chandelier (#6 peak)

43 Reigan - Stay With Me (#2 peak)

42 Fleur East - Uptown Funk (#3 peak)

41 Olly Murs ft. Demi Lovato - Up (#3 peak)

In the last bunch before the top 40, there's a nice balance of UK smashes and underrated tracks. Huge hits from George Ezra, Meghan Trainor and Sia sit alongside a Melodifestivalen track from Helena Paparizou, a blogosphere favourite from Ryn Weaver and another Reigan X Factor Australia performance that was re-recorded in studio forms for her debut EP. We also lose another personal chart #1, this time from Aussie Jessica Mauboy with a track that was re-recorded for the commonwealth Games (although the original is still better). All that plus the best X Factor performance of the year and itunes #1 from Fleur East, the rightful winner of X Factor UK this year, and a duet between two of my favourites, Olly and Demi!

40 Tove Lo vs. Hippie Sabotage - Stay High (Habits Remix)

UK peak: #6

US peak: N/A (Habits #3)

My peak: #6

(30-25-6-13-22-29-39-40-43-47-55-67-75) // 14wks

I have to say, Habits is one of my favourite songs of all time and most probably my fave of 2013. I heard it when Tove had 600 followers on twitter and it was an instant hit for me, her vocals and the lyrics just paired perfectly and gorgeous isn't enough of a word <3 The remix naturally has nothing on that, but being a spin-off of such a fabulous song, it was bound to be great to some degree. The instrumental and vocal productions make for a super dreamy and hypnotic listen, which is further aided by the repetition of the same few lines throughout.

39 Hozier - Take Me To Church

UK peak: #20

US peak: #2

My peak: #2

(66-72-xx-55-67-72-xx-18-2-3-4-6-12-16-24-30-28-34-39-40-46) // 20 n/c wks *still charting*

This has been a huge hit worldwide, and whilst it has stick around a while in the UK it didn't have the same impact :( But it did have quite am impact on my chart, so Hozier can rest easy I'm sure. I kind of overlooked a bit this late last year and when it was in BJSC even, but because I'm a mainstream whore I came to love it as it climbed the charts worldwide. This is nothing revolutionary, but his gruff voice and the relatable-even-though-they're-specific lyrics make this a must listen.

38 Tinashe ft. Schoolboy Q - 2 On

UK peak: #127

US peak: #24

My peak: #8

(26-13-16-19-22-23-20-19-27-32-40-47-55-xx-12-8) // 16 n/c wks *still charting*

The UK peak for this (just like its parent album :() is absolutely ridiculous! The impending re-release had better remedy that, but that's doubtful :( Anyway, the word jam was made for this song *.* Her voice is just perfect for any type of R&B; so smooth and effortless! The production from DJ Mustard is perfection too, giving this song a great beat. All in all, this is pretty much the best pure R&B song of the year and it's a travesty Tinashe isn't bigger in general.

37 Katy B - Still

UK peak: #116

US peak: N/A

My peak: #2

(4-4-2-6-8-14-24-30-34-38-41-45-53-60-68-74) // 16wks

Another criminal flop :( The first of two stunning ballads for Katy B in this countdown, Still failed to make the top 100. Maybe it would have done better as a 3rd single seeing as it followed Crying For No Reason but we'll never know. Whilst she's fab at most things in her repertoire, stunning ballads like reallt are her lane! The tone of her voice makes me really believe every word (god, that was very X Factor judge of me!!) she sings and feel all the pain. This could run the risk of being a rip-off CFNR, but the two are the highlights of a great album for me and this isn't too far behind its predecessor.

36 Sigma ft. Paloma Faith - Changing

UK peak: #1

US peak: N/A

My peak:

(3-4-6-7-15-22-26-31-34-40-46-53-60-74) // 14wks

Paloma is known for her soulful pop, but Sigma enlisted her vocals on this and crafted a brilliant DnB anthem <3 It gave Paloma her first #1 and Sigma his (their?) second, rightfully so (Paloma still has a better song to come though). Although it's nothing amazingly revolutionary, this is pretty much like a better version of Rudimental's Waiting All Night (weirdly, Ella Eyre was apparently the first choice of vocalist for this song!) and it has me wanting more dance from Paloma!

Boom clap is such a great pop song and glow is a masterpiece

AND YAY YAY YAY FOR ONE OF THE BEST SONGS EVER :cheer: :cheer: Slay Let It Go

YAASSS, the haters need to obey the title tbh.

'2 On' and 'Chandelier' too low :( (but yay at them making it here anyway).

'Take Me To Church' is really growing on me now, i'm properly loving it - just in time that it looks to be peaking officially too, such a mainstream whore i am :P

Nice to see Fleur, FKA, Katy B, Tove all appearing here too. And 'Up' is becoming one of my favourites from Olly <3 i did expect it to be much higher here tbh, going on the artists involved alone :o

Aquarius was 3rd in the albums :smoke:

It took a while with me too tbf  It wasn't until it charted, so I'm a tad mainstream whore-ish too!

It's a bit too twee to be an absolute favourite, and it might have been higher if it wasn't so new!

all about that bass is growing on me again, i was really charmed by it at first but then it seemed everywhere and i got a bit sick of it but now it's increasingly getting better for me. although lips are movin >>

at first i loved stay high but i think habits is my favourite now, i prefer it slowed down and less repetitive i guess. want her to make something just as good again now

still was such a lovely follow-up and i wish it took off more, she has a wonderful voice and it was a great ballad. she's so underrated..

Such floppage for Olly :o

There were 40 better songs than Up this year is all :smoke:

I always loved it  It helps that I never listen to the radio, so if things are overplayed it's my own fault :P

I do love both but yeah Habits is wayyy better, it's a shame that it had to be dressed up as a faceless producer led song from a dance sub-genre to be successful :(

It's a shame but like I said I think it was too similar to CFNR to be released straight away :(
