He has a much better voice than Fleur, Fleur is mostly smoke and Mirrors, huge performances to cover vocal weakness. They are very different which makes the final interesting (if they are the final two, where will Andrea's votes go?) Very similar to Olly Murs when he was on the show, massive production to cover his shortcomings.

Not really.

I've heard and seen every Fleur performances...she showed vocal abilities with Will You Be There, I'm Every Woman, If I Ain't Got You.

She might not have the strongest voice in this world but she is the most flexible contestant I've ever witnessed and does justice to everything she touches.

She's the PACKAGE and I hope she wins it.

I've heard every Fleur performance too and Not really :)

Any sign of a note of some degree and she struggles. I'm Every woman the backing track was louder than she was (same with AIWFC last weekend, not even sure that was live in parts) and once again it was all about the fun and performance element. If I ain't got you was bad, even Mel who praises her to high heaven said she struggled. I understand people like Fleur for her performance qualities and confidence on stage is a big plus but a good voice? No. Having said all that a good voice is not essential to be a pop star as we've seen over and over and she is quite marketable.

This seems like an odd thing to say  Perhaps she's just offering her own criticism to help him improve rather than praising him and making out as if he's the best thing since sliced bread? Why does she have to have been told to say it? Mel just likes to speak her mind.

Besides, why would Andrea be telling her to test the water?

I don't know that's why I said Simon NOT Andrea  Maybe read the post again. Andrea as her contestant, Simon re the comments as reasons.

She often looks embarrassed after some of her comments. You think the judges comments are not scripted? Poor Cheryl is always looking down at her piece of paper bless her. I loved the massive boos after the TOL performance. Her comments were so far off it was hilarious.

I think I get it  Not entirely clear from your post if you get what I mean.

Mel wasn't "far off", I know that I and many others agreed with her critique on that performance. I doubt she'd allow herself to be bossed around by anyone in terms of giving comments to the acts. This is just a case of reading too much into it. Sure, the audience booed, but they'll boo any negative critique even if the performance was shite. Personally, I think his voice is too rocky for a soft ballad like Thinking Out Loud so it didn't work and the intimacy was totally lost.

Yes having re-read it I could have worded it slightly better.

I personally loved that performance and we all have different tastes including Mel but it felt like she couldn't have watched the performance because it was very stripped back in the beginning and gradually built up. He's not Ed Sheeran so he's not going to "talk it" like he does. It has felt like over the show she is trying to pigeon-hole him into just rock and even when he does a great performance (subjective) she brings that up. I think his first audition shows he's also go a great blues voice but he has never been allowed to show it. There are boos which happen every week but those boos were something else. I've never heard the other judges and Dermot drowned out for that long and that loudly. To me it felt negative for the sake of being negative, scripted or not. If you can bear to watch the clip again :) look at Simon's face while the booing is going on,he has an expression like "well that's told me what I needed to know" Just my interpretation of course.

I think you're overexagurrating just a tad Torresgirl though I do, in a sense, agree with some of the points you're making. Of the three left, who would I say has the weakest voice? Fleur, yes. However by no means has she got a bad voice, the intro of I'm Every Woman would be a good example of that imo. So, add the fact she has a pretty good, though not reliable, voice and she brings the performance factor (something which neither Ben or Andrea have at all), she's a more well rounded contestant.
I completely agreed with Mel about TOL. To me, his voice made it pretty horrific... He doesn't have an awful voice (it's just not my thing), but it doesn't sound good when it's exposed like in an acoustic ballad such as TOL (Hallelujah was a little better because it's got more belting and stuff to cover it up a bit) at all imo. She was right about Hallelujah too, not his song at all. He should have performed more AC/DC and stuff like that, then I'd be far less critical of him tbh. I would actually say Fleur is just as good as him vocally, if not better. Neither have particularly amazing technical skill tbf but Fleur's voice is more rounded and suited to a wide range of things whereas to me Ben usually sounds pretty bad on ballads for example.

Its interesting how two people can watch (or hear?) something and have such differing opinions. Have you watched Ben first audition? His voice is stunning. Its always the same in these shows though, they take the acts away from what they do best because of the theme weeks and you rarely get to see it again.

Thank you I think :) Just my opinion. I've never said she's not a good performer, she is. I just think the praise is way over the top. Her strength is in the performance and not necessarily the singing (she can sing "ok") I disagree about performance skills of the other two though (well I agree about Andrea) Ben has a good stage presence and a certain charisma but I doubt he could dance as well in hot pants as Fleur. Although that could be interesting

His audition was even worse  I remember hating it because I just don't like the tone of his voice when it's exposed like that. It's ok for me when he does rock songs like AC/DC which as I said he should be singing more of, but I just don't like his voice on softer songs or when it's exposed.

Its just clear we have different tastes. I find it amazing you can say that Fleur has a better voice. But each to their own. Just get those ears checked ASAP :) Kidding :D Also I really doubt he wanted to sing IWALY or Hallelujah. I loved Mel and Cheryl's reaction to that first audition as he was singing, completely bowled over. I have no idea what's happened to Mel since.

I take it no news on the winners singles yet.

The duets will be performed on Saturday, hopefully Ben will go on Saturday but I doubt it, as Fleur won't have that much competition over Andrea Sunday night, if that happens.

Apparently Sam Smith has said he's only performing on Sunday? So I think the duets will be different people. Hopefully they're big ones and they've blown the budget because as much as I like Ed, Meghan, Demi and Olly, most of the guests have been on already this series!
Still praying Mel B has something on Vic and is blackmailing her to duet with Andrea and the other girls #friendshipneverends

Mel C hates the X Factor so she wouldn't be likely to do it either.

Mel C doesn't hate it really she just has to be seen to be credible. She made me laugh I saw an interview with her and she was asked who she liked on X factor this year and she was like 'I don't really watch it but I like that guy, erm I think his name is Andrea' it looked like how every kid at school used to lie about something like that.

She was also scheduled to perform on Xtra factor a few back but got bumped for a 390273724th JLS performance and has been Mel B's guest Judge on Aus X factor.

If there was something to gain from it she would do it, I mean Elton slagged the show off and he performed last years final.
