With Union J making history tonight by failing to make it number 1 officially while still topping sales, and with no chance of recovering, I was wondering when the opposite will eventually happen. Thinking Out Loud has already topped sales during its other week as the overall number 1.

It'll probably a post-album single from a big album vs. a held-back single in its first week (now I think about it that was the scenario this week!).

Let Her Go or Just Give Me A Reason could've got #1 with streaming last year (I can't remember what blocked them).

I'm sure the latter was that bloody Ant & Dec """song"""" :(

Well Pink could've got that week with streaming then, unless Let's Get Ready to Rhumble was really far ahead in sales (which I don't think it was).

I seem to remember Let Her Go peaking around the same time of Get Lucky and Blurred Lines, so probably couldn't have beaten them anyway if I'm correct.

Maybe sometime early next year where sales for the #1s are low and all the Q4 releases are releasing their post-album singles it could happen.

Had streaming existed in 1999 then Alice Deejay's Better Off Alone would have easily beaten Westlife with If I Let You Go to number 1 seeing as there were only 470 sales in it that week.
Yes! More people stream each day! And less will buy physical sales!

Just Give Me A Reason was less than 5,000 copies behind Let's Get Ready To Rhumble, and was 4 on that week on streaming, when Ant & Dec weren't in the top 40. So maybe Just Give Me A Reason would have been number 1... I think Pink might want a reason why streaming wasn't included in the charts earlier... :D

Cheerleader has tonight become at least the first single to top the overall chart before reaching the sales summit, still likely to top sales next week though.
