Why would the X Factor single sell 300,000 copies? It didn't even sell 200,000 last year and this year has had less viewers. Although I would agree that whoever wins tonight is more appealing than Sam Bailey I also think that the viewing figures along with the choice of lead single (the song doesn't exactly scream hit does it?) means the single will stuggle to reach 200,000 copies again.

Sam Bailey only sold something like 150k, I expect either Ben or Fleur would both be more popular than that but not so popular they have twice the sales. But then again, Skyscraper by Demi was a hit just before it whilst the winner's single this time hasn't been released a single here. I'd say maybe 200k at a push? They'll sell more than Sam Bailey but probably not as much as Little Mix (210k first week I believe).

I want Fleur to win but Ben has pretty much won already. He's bookies favourite at the moment and the bookies haven't been wrong since Leon/Rhydian in 2007.

 

The winner's single will sell well anyway.

We shall see later tonight. It's clear that Fleur will have more success than Ben in the future anyway whatever happens tonight. If Ben wins then he will never have another number one single ever again after next Sunday.

 

This is part of why I would rather that Fleur won because it would be wasted a bit on Ben, Fleur will be like Olly Murs if she loses. She is also a lot more versatile than Ben.
