May 26, 201510 yr Good to see all the promo lined up. It will be interesting to see what Leona performs at GAY.
May 26, 201510 yr Sunday Night at the Palladium Sunday 7th Jack Whitehall introduces the variety show, featuring an appearance by Simply Red. Leona Lewis performs her new song Fire Under My Feet and Jess Glynne sings her number one single Hold My Hand. Last in the series. Edited May 26, 201510 yr by Joe.
May 26, 201510 yr Which date is that? Sunday 7th - Good to get some early promo, get pre-orders up high which means more aiplay. Hopefully she'll be on Norton on the 26th (2 days before release - it's the last episode) and John Bishop on the 4th of July (to give late week boost) Edited May 26, 201510 yr by Joe.

Hopefully she'll be on Norton on the 26th (2 days before release - it's the last episode) and John Bishop on the 4th of July (to give late week boost) I hope she has a few mornig tv show performances during the week aswell, I want her to remain relatively steady on itunes for the week. Also Leona's manager said the track would be on Spotify June 7th, though that was before the push back in release date, but I hope it will still be released to Spotify that week. Let her streams build up before the proper release, I want her to get a good peak position.

Me too, fingers crossed she get's more than just Radio 2 backing, which has been okay for Brandon, Madonna and Will Young's albums, but hasn't gotten their singles high enough to chart well.
May 27, 201510 yr Record of the week for Radio 2! Which means it's going to get heavy rotation all week and will be straight onto the A list next week. :D
May 27, 201510 yr Author Record of the week for Radio 2! Which means it's going to get heavy rotation all week and will be straight onto the A list next week. :D They don't always go straight to A-list though? OMS & Trouble were record of the week and went to C/B-list the following week. Either way great to see Leona's airplay will start picking up now. :cheer: Radio tour starting monday too (regional one so across the UK)! :D

Like Madonna recently for example. Fingers crossed she gets Capital or Heart on board too!

May 27, 201510 yr Ooh fabulous! It does seem like Leona is now a Radio 2 artist, I can't see her getting Radio 1 support as well. Let's just hope at least Heart or Capital get on board.

Really? They've supported all of her lead singles so far and Leona's been on Scott Mills' show and will be on Nick Grimshaw's June 2nd. So I think they'll at least C-list it. Going to look out to see if it becomes their track of the day at some point.
May 27, 201510 yr I agree with Ryan, I think it'll be very unlikely for her to be supported by R1 but that's not a bad thing with good Radio 2 support and at least one of the main commercial stations on board she should do fine. Going into the station has no link to getting playlisted. Many artists go in for interviews and get plays of their songs but never get playlisted (Paloma for example) It's also not about 'lead singles' being playlisted. Once Radio 1 snub a song from their playlist (Lovebird), it's very rare to get back on board again. You can usually tell if Radio 1 are going to playlist something in advance because they start playing it on their day time shows occasionally or have it as a track of the day. (The only daytime play she had was when she did Bingo - and even Peter Andre managed to get a play when he went in for Bingo)

(The only daytime play she had was when she did Bingo - and even Peter Andre managed to get a play when he went in for Bingo) That point is rather invalid though given the success of "One More Sleep" and it being played a lot by BBC Radio 1 not only the year of release, but they also played the song last year too. And the Endor remix of the song did get a spin from BBC Radio 1. Plus her being on the shows is a form on promotion and I would have thought would increase the chance of her being playlisted. I think track record is important and I don't see why they won't support Leona. I mean they didn't B-list or A-list "I Got You" due to "Happy" not being very successful despite A-listing it. But this time it's coming off of "One More Sleep" which was a resounding success. So I don't see why they won't at least given it C or B-list support.
May 27, 201510 yr The simple fact is, Radio 1 dumped Leona after 'Trouble' (and Glassheart's release) and haven't playlisted anything since. I know she's only released two singles since then, but it was a long time ago and whenever Radio 1 does not playlist a single by an act like that it means they've dumped them period (see also The Saturdays, Cheryl, Britney etc.) I'm hoping miraculously they'll get on board with her, but I'm not expecting it. They didn't really dump her though. They don't playlist Christmas songs, but played "One More Sleep" a lot which was around a year and a half ago during its original release and then subsequently played it again last Christmas a bit. I mean they didn't dump Kelly Clarkson. "Dark Side" performed poorly despite support and then didn't go on to play "Catch My Breath". But they supported "Underneath The Tree" and went on to B-list "Heartbeat Song". Given that Leona is in a similar situation, I don't see why they wouldn't support her. I don't get the Cheryl comparison, didn't they support all her songs except Only Human, how can you say they have dumped her when she hasn't released anything since? I still think there is a chance Radio 1 could playlist Leona. Edited May 27, 201510 yr by Dmdr

I agree with the Kelly Clarkson comparison. Both were tracks of the day with their Christmas songs but not playlisted. She was given a good amount of airplay considering, so I'd expect the same for Leona.
May 28, 201510 yr I hope R1 play it, Looking forward to the 2nd radio tour and for promo to start! I can't wait for next week's radio tour, things have went very quiet this week.
