As Mark Ronson looks set to stall at number 2, I thought we'd look back at some other weekly number 2 or lower peaks.

Technically he's falling to Number 2, not stalling at Number 2

That's an interesting list though, anyone know what the all-time highest weekly sale for a #2 is? Could it possibly be 'Last Christmas'?

Probably whoever lost out in the RATM vs. Joe McElderry battle for #1?

"Last Christmas" sold 500,000 copies in its first week but still, it remains the fastest selling single which failed to reach number 1

Battle of the Spice Girls in 1999 where Geri beat Emma to #1. Both songs passed 100,000 sales in the week

Joe McElderry unfortunately went to no1 the week after so he didn't stall at no2.

The darkness - christmas time

Chef - salty chocolate balls

I think it was Dario G that was behind Candle In the Wind, but it only did about 85k..

Victoria Becham had huge sales behind Spiller in 2000

I think one of Sash's singles had huge sales when it was at #2 behind "Candle In The Wind '97".

I know which one you're on about. "Stay", but not sure about the first week sales though

Didn't Shakira's Whenever, Wherever have huge sales for a #2? When it was stopped by Will Young selling a million in 1 week

Surely there's a few before Brookstein? Like 'Roll With It' (surely that did over 100k?) they're not in the thread anyhow

Tin Tin Out aren't in the thread either. "What I Am" passed the mark on 06-11-1999

Yes Roll With It did 216k and 105k in it's two weeks at No 2

Sorry obviously the list isn't "full" haha- though I think it comprehensively covers the last 10 years

Didn't Whitney's It's Not Right, But It's OK clear something like 150k first week at No.3? Doesn't seem to be in the thread.
