Not if giving away music for free on spitify cannibalises sales. I know I was sick of nico n Vince by the time u could buy it so that was at least one lost sale from me:-)

That records fail to do well until they are specifically featured just proves that it's not a true reflection of what people choose to buy or listen. It shows it's a passive radio type of useage. So spitify control it to an extent.

Merry Xmas!:-)

Meghan Trainor improves her stream-only position of 'Lips Are Movin' to #73, not quite matching 'All About That Bass' of course but another top 75 on stream-only which is great!
Surprised it didn't do what The Days did tbh (taking into account it wasn't released but no one knew this until a few weeks after it entered)

Meghan Trainor re-peaks from #72 to #60 on stream-only. She has one more week to increase this peak before Lips Are Movin gets officially released. Also we get a new addition from Omi whose Cheerleader enters at #96 on stream-only. It's also worth nothing that Kygo is this week's #97 with Firestone which most of its sales come from streaming, but it is on sale so does not make this list. The whole update is in the OP but here are the changes:

60 • 60 • Meghan Trainor - Lips Are Movin (#22 streaming)

96 • 96 • Omi - Cheerleader (Felix Jaehn Remix) (#48 streaming)

updates:

50 • 50 • Meghan Trainor - Lips Are Movin (#14 streaming)

86 • 86 • Omi - Cheerleader (Felix Jaehn Remix) (#47 streaming)

#50 is Meghan's final stream-only peak then, matching MAGIC!

Omi still has another 2 months to improve on his peak though, lol.

Also Kygo is #80 from mostly streaming, but he is selling a bit, with the proof being in that he's lower than Omi on streaming but higher officially.

Meghan Trainor peaks at #2 officially after being released to sales and Omi re-peaks again, going top 75 officially on stream-only.

73 • 73 • Omi - Cheerleader (Felix Jaehn Remix) (#46 streaming)

changing the subtitle a bit as Cheerleader got some sales last week (ten copies, lol)

update as Omi is STILL not released (and won't be until May)

6161 • Omi - Cheerleader (Felix Jaehn Remix) (#29 streaming)

wonder how high it can get before it's out? Possibly top 50; it's #21 on Spotify so should get another climb this weekend.

At this rate, it could be the second song ever to enter the top 40 on streams alone. The UK need to stop changing the release date for this song and leave it alone

According to this week's Music Week, OMI has received some sales, although it received 0 last week.

Omi overtakes Nico & Vinz, Meghan Trainor (LAM) and MAGIC! to become the second highest on the list

Streaming clearly has a bigger impact in the chart already, Omi's only #15 on streams alone but made #37 in the official chart this week

3737 • Omi - Cheerleader (Felix Jaehn Remix) (#15 streaming)

the following all peaked higher on stream only when they peaked officially without sales

5001 • MAGIC! - Rude (#13 streaming)

5002 • Meghan Trainor - Lips Are Movin (#14 streaming)

5201 • Nico & Vinz - Am I Wrong (#10 streaming)

And 'All About That Bass' was a #4 streaming hit when it smashed at #33 before getting released to sale

Updated the OP with Natalie La Rose making #91 on streams alone

Also decided to include Wiz in this despite the song being on sale on amazon, as it is too notable to not get a mention here.

Natalie La Rose climbs to #76 this week and Deorro/Chris Brown enter the chart at #99 from streaming alone. And neither are even top 50 on streams this week. :o

You missed Robin Schulz's 'Headlights' from about a month ago by the way :D

(also belated sorry for kind of hijacking the thread with my top 200 post, I'll remove it if you like)

Deorro and Chris Brown climb to #95 this week on streams only. Natalie La Rose climbs on streaming but drops 5 places officially.

Slightly related...

Felix Jaehn feat. Jasmine Thompson - Ain't Nobody (Loves Me Better) enters the UK Dance Chart at #38 on streaming alone.

Lost Frequencies - Are You With Me is also at #29.

Not quite sure how these translate into UK Singles Chart terms, but yay!

Usually means inside the official top 200 so expect it to climb gradually.
