December 31, 201410 yr Did anyone else notice the utter bollox that Fearne Cotton 'announced' in today's TOTP? Instead of saying that Meghan Trainor had the first song to enter the top 40 on streaming alone, she said AATB got to number one on streaming alone! Where do they get the scriptwriters from? They're just making up stuff. Whatever happened to fact-checking and BBC journalistic standards? Happy new year!
December 31, 201410 yr It was probably just a mistake, they've gotten it right when saying the fact before.
January 1, 201510 yr Did anyone else notice the utter bollox that Fearne Cotton 'announced' in today's TOTP? Instead of saying that Meghan Trainor had the first song to enter the top 40 on streaming alone, she said AATB got to number one on streaming alone! Where do they get the scriptwriters from? They're just making up stuff. Whatever happened to fact-checking and BBC journalistic standards? Happy new year! I'm watching it at the moment and was about to comment on that. Isn't it good to know that Ms Cotton is still just as clueless as she was in her Chart Show days? EDIT: Oh, she's just stated that Ed Sheeran's × was the only million-selling album. Wrong again.
January 1, 201510 yr Yeh, George Ezra doing Listen To The Man :cheer: Let's hope it finally makes the top forty (I might even be able to resurrect the commentary paragraph I wrote weeks ago). And what a lovely smile he gave us at the end.
January 1, 201510 yr EDIT: Oh, she's just stated that Ed Sheeran's × was the only million-selling album. Wrong again. I'm not sure exactly when this was filmed but it was possibly before In the Lonely Hour crossed the mark? Correct me if I'm wrong of course :kink:
January 1, 201510 yr I'm not sure exactly when this was filmed but it was possibly before In the Lonely Hour crossed the mark? Correct me if I'm wrong of course :kink: I did think about that before I posted. However, even if it was recorded before Sam Smith passed the million mark, he must have been close enough to be an inevitable million-seller.
January 1, 201510 yr Fearne Cotton symbolises whats wrong with radio 1 now it's all about presenters not djs passionate and actually knowledgable about music!
January 1, 201510 yr Fearne Cotton symbolises whats wrong with radio 1 now it's all about presenters not djs passionate and actually knowledgable about music! I've never rated Fearne as a presenter, its the reason I don't really listen to radio 1 anymore since theyve been chasing that younger audience though I listen to Scott and Zane the most of the current line up I miss the good old days of Jo Whiley playing new music and sounding enthusiastic about the tracks she was playing...(unpopular opinion i know but) I even miss Chris Moyles!
January 1, 201510 yr I never liked Jo but at least as you say she was passionate about music and came from outside that presenters sphere that we get now like most come from T4 and things like that!
January 1, 201510 yr Fearne Cotton is passionate about music though... Just because she's not passionate about how the charts are operating doesn't mean she's not about music.
January 2, 201510 yr I didn't say anything about the chart. I don't think she's passionate about music in the way Zane Lowe, Jo Wiley or Steve Lamac were/are!
January 2, 201510 yr I didn't say anything about the chart. I don't think she's passionate about music in the way Zane Lowe, Jo Wiley or Steve Lamac were/are! Have you ever listened to her show on R1?
January 2, 201510 yr I've always got the impression from Fearne that she jumps on some random indie act and gushes about them until she's blue in the face to seem 'hip' and 'cool', she doesn't strike me as especially passionate. Passionate about her street cred, maybe.
January 2, 201510 yr Have you ever listened to her show on R1? Yeh and Ive also listened to her predecessor Jo and she was much better.
