39. CALVIN HARRIS FT. JOHN NEWMAN - BLAME (48 POINTS)

WEEKS IN TOP TEN: 8
OCC PEAK: 1 (1wk)
RESHUFFLE AVERAGE POSITION: 5
AMOUNT OF 5's RECIEVED: 21
AMOUNT OF -5's RECIEVED: 17
POSITIVE VOTES: 128
NEGATIVE VOTES: 120
RUN:5-8-6-7-4-3-3-2
AVERAGE WEEKLY SCORE 6

While most long runners in this chart start of high and drop, "Blame" through a curveball and seemed to grow on voters nearly topping the chart in its last week. Calvin still has "Outside" to come, John Newman's third consecutive year in the T40 btw. "Feel The Love" (36th in 2012) & "Love Me Again" (11th in 2013).

8 of the 21 +5's from me :P

There seems to be a lot of songs that garnered a lot of dislike (both now & at the time) performing very well on here.

I do quite like this track, but I must say those two could've done better

And I can't say I agree too much with its run either  there've been better tracks deserving such a run from him e.g. Sweet Nothing, Feel So Close etc. you gotta love Calvin

Another one weeker drops out leaving a Giant In My Heart/Glow/Riptide deathmatch and speaking of Ella Henderson, Ghost's first week blocked Salute from the Reshuffle #1 stopping the girls from getting their fourth Reshuffle #1, but at least it was an improvement on "Word Up".

Another pop hit at #37 with Olly Murs & Demi Lovato, this song seemed to get much more praise than "Wrapped Up" but I prefer the latter. Love both though so not a criticism.

This is from my favourite side of Guetta the more sophisticated side not purely club filler, and my favourite from him since former YE winner "Titanium".

So Riptide leaves Kiesza and Ella Henderson to battle for top one weeker. It is a great chill folky song which couldn't do much against "Rather Be" on its first week.

34. ELLA HENDERSON - GLOW (55 POINTS)

WEEKS IN TOP TEN: 1
OCC PEAK: 7 (1wk)
RESHUFFLE AVERAGE POSITION: 1

AMOUNT OF -5's RECIEVED: 2
POSITIVE VOTES: 23
NEGATIVE VOTES: 9

Ella's departure means leaves Kiesza to take the one-weeker crown. "Glow" is far superior to "Ghost" to me, but it's the latter that rests higher. Glow finishes higher than Riptide as it recieved eight "+5"s compared to Riptide's four.
The highest placing one-week wonders are lining up very well with my favourites ('Giant In My Heart', 'Glow', 'Salute' and 'Walking With Elephants' all got to #1 in my personal chart and I do adore 'Riptide' as well)!

Salute  I'm a straight guy, but this is really catchy :D

Up I prefer this to Wrapped Up, especially Demi's vocals are pretty amazing :D

Dangerous is great, still prefer LOTS :kink:

Riptide I remember when this first charted and dropped out  great track

Glow shame this track burnt out pretty quickly :( :kink:

Giant In My Heart rightfully winner of that particular sub-award then! :cheer:

Probably my fave song I didn't give a +5 to (up against Am I Wrong you see).

Salute  I'm a straight guy, but this is really catchy :D

It's not exclusively for gays you know.

33. KIESZA - GIANT IN MY HEART (57 POINTS)

AMOUNT OF -5's RECIEVED: 1

NEGATIVE VOTES: 5

So Kiesza triumphed with a history pretty similar to "Glow", both successors to Reshuffle & OCC debut number #1s which gave both artists their second Reshuffle #1. I prefer Glow to GIMH, but i prefer Hideaway to Ghost. Previous highest one weekers for those interested (in my years) are: 2013: Hard Out Here - Lily Allen, 2012: Euphoria - Loreen & 2011: Back To Black - Amy Winehouse.

For reference do you happen to know/remember what the respective scores were of those highest 1-weekers? (no issue if you don't :))

This section's great here's another of my favourite songs of 2014, this one a bit of a grower. I always knew it was good but it took it's time to go into "love" territory.

Hard Out Here: 52

Euphoria: 79

Back To Black: 31

Clear winner there :)

Another #1 on my personal chart from ZHU  On a run of great songs at the moment (I love 'Dangerous' and 'Up' as well, though 'Blame' not as much)!
I'm pretty sure there were quite a few people who normally don't vote in this but turned out just to give Loreen a +5 hence her massive total! IIRC it was the busiest week for this game ever at the time though I think that may have been beaten since.
