I would say 'Living For Love' soundwise is perfect for Radio 1.

 

Of course they have the right not to playlist her if they don't want to, but to lie about their reasons for doing so just makes them look pathetic and spineless.

I'm glad they haven't playlisted her. There will be the exact same arguement occurring on here in 15/20 years when they don't playlist a first single from a Riri album!

Sigma (feat. Labrinth) - Higher

 

Noticeably weaker than their previous two singles for me but still a good track :cheer:

They need to change it up a bit. The sound/same beat is getting boring.

Sounds a bit formulaic to me, which is a shame as Labrinth has a reputation for being innovative. Still a good song, but it reminds me of "The Power" and "Won't Look Back" - songs tipped for #1 of the back of previous successes, but were weaker than their other songs.

Agree with most of Joe's. Except it feels like it's too late for Maroon 5 now, and I doubt Marina will continue to be supported.

 

No idea what's going on with Sam Smith, it would be really bizarre if they snub him but based on impact date 'Lay Me Down' should have been added at least a couple of weeks ago :unsure:

 

Probably a week too early even for Ed Sheeran yet, and definitely a week too early for Cheryl and Jessie J, assuming they will playlist both of those.

I did think the same regarding Marina, but Greg played the song on his show last night - saying he's excited to play new music from Marina and confirmed the impact date as the 22nd.

 

I, too, will be so disappointed if Jessie Ware's support isn't continued with this amazing song.

I think this will happen to Rihanna is less than 10 years tbh. :(

I don't get why Radio 1 would have to "defend" not playlisting Madonna anyway. They're not Capital therefore they don't have to play every song that's gonna be a chart hit, plus it's well-known that R1 think their target audience don't want to hear old popstars (see also Robbie Williams/Take That)

 

You'd think it was Logan's Run, not a national radio station! :P
