Aleks' daughter, Ineta, just manages to edge out Lily Branning into 84th position. Ineta first appeared via a video call to Aleks early last year. Since then, her and Marta (her mother) showed up in Walford in search of Aleks. After Marta discovered Aleks was in love with Roxy, not her, she decided to leave Ineta in Aleks' care and returned to Latvia. Ineta speaks far better English than her mother, leading to an amusing translation scene between Marta, Roxy and Ineta.

Narrowly finishing ahead of Ineta is the youngest of the Beale children, Bobby. 2014 has been quite a year for the character of Bobby. In January, he was shocked by the sudden return of his adoptive mother, Jane Beale. It's a whistle stop initially for Jane, however she decides to permanently return to Walford after realising that Bobby needs her. In April, Bobby was seen suffering with the loss of his sister Lucy after a touching scene where Ian broke the news to both him and Cindy Williams. After Ian almost suffered another breakdown, Jane decided to move away with Bobby. In September, Jane returns with news that Bobby has gone missing. At this point, a new actor takes the role of Bobby (and a far better one for that matter). Bobby is later discovered by Masood to be sleeping at Walford Common (where Lucy's body was found). The year ended on a happier note as Bobby finally got to see Ian and Jane reunite.

'Tosh' joined EE this year to find her former girlfriend, Tina Carter. Prior to her joining, it was discovered that Tosh was abusive towards Tina and resultantly, Shirley is very angry towards her. Shirley spends a month or so trying to keep Tosh and Tina apart, but her efforts go without reward. Tosh ends up moving to the Square and living in a flat with Tina. They decide to have a baby together, however, Tosh becomes angry when she discovers that Tina kissed her friend Sonia. This is the first time that viewers see her abuse towards Tina. They make up eventually and continue trying for a child. Tosh later becomes angry again when she discovers that Tina has been selling drugs sourced from Aunt Babe to raise funds for IVF treatment. After some harsh words, Tina decides to stop. After their appearing to be a happy month, Tosh begins to grow suspicious that Tina is sleeping with Sonia. Tosh later discovers Sonia's watch at their flat (which she left by accident while visiting) and jumps to the wrong conclusion. Despite Tina protesting her innocence, Tosh brutally beats Tina with Aunt Babe coming to her rescue a little too late. Tina refuses to forgive Tosh this time and Tosh leaves Walford.

TJ arrived in the Square in 2013 alongside his family - Terry (father) and Rosie (sister). In 2014, TJ struggled with the prospect that he would become a father after sleeping with Cindy Williams and her conceiving a child. Cindy decided against abortion, despite TJ's wishes, and once the baby arrived he also struggled with being a father at such a young age. TJ left the Square with Terry, Rosie and Bianca's family and decided not to have contact with Beth anymore. In my opinion, it was a wasted opportunity making TJ the father, it would've made more sense to be Liam Butcher's child.

In 2014, Anthony Trueman made a surprise appearance in EastEnders after his father, Patrick, suffered a stroke. Initially, Anthony visited Albert Square where he bumped into his old flame, Kat Moon before heading to the hospital to join Denise at Patrick's bedside. After Patrick mistakes Anthony for his other son, Paul, Anthony leaves in an upset state. Ian offers advice to Anthony and this results in him deciding to leave Patrick in the care of Denise. He leaves Denise with a cheque to help with the financial burden and leaves without saying goodbye to Patrick.

Rebecca Fowler has been a recurring character throughout 2014 after returning last year alongside Sonia, although played by a new actress. Rebecca's only notable storyline has been her passion for music and the guitar. Rebecca was secretly receiving guitar lessons from Charlie Cotton, and also applies to a music boarding school without Sonia's knowledge. Once Sonia discovers this, she forbids Rebecca attending in order to save her marriage to Martin Fowler. After much persuasion, Sonia eventually agrees but Rebecca changes her mind and decides to stay in London. Sonia and Martin later split up and Rebecca remains living in the care of Martin off the Square, while Sonia moves back in with Carol Jackson.

Former City big-wig Danny Pennant lands himself at #78 on the countdown. He left fairly quickly into 2014 after pushing Lucy Beale too far. Danny kissed Johnny Carter shortly after Johnny's arrival on the square, and later started messaging him on a dating site under the guise 'Walford Wonder'. At the same time, Danny and Lucy had recently began embarking on a relationship after conning Janine while she was in prison and were planning on setting up their own property business after Janine sold her own. However, after Johnny discovers that Danny is the 'Walford Wonder', he informs Lucy and she sends Danny packing along with the money. Danny was an initial suspect in Lucy's murder investigation, however it was revealed on screen that Danny was abroad at the time of Lucy's murder.

The infamous scape goat of Walford, Ben Mitchell, finishes next on the countdown. He is awarded the accolade of being the lowest placing adult Mitchell, with only Amy being lower. Ben returned to the Square in September 2014 after being called by Jay to speak to Phil about marrying the right person. Unsurprisingly, Ben didn't receive a warm welcome from many of the residents and got into a fight with Dean Wicks very quickly. It was also discovered that Ben and Jay had an instrumental role in the night Lucy died - they had possession of the purse and phone which Jay had buried earlier in the year. The possessions were later dug up by Denise and Ben had to plead his innocence of the crime to Ian. Ian and Jane decided against informing the police, however it later appeared that Ben omitted the true events from his recount to Ian. The other storyline running alongside this was Ben's confusion with his sexuality. Despite coming out to Phil in his previous stint, Ben claimed to be straight and embarked on a relationship with Abi Branning. However, it's clear this was a pretence as he continues to pursue his sexual feelings towards Johnny Carter. Personally I think NuNuBen is definitely a marked improvement on the last two, but I'm still yet to be wowed by the new actor.
