Oops for Peace being top 3 in the first mids then ultimately barely outpeaking the debut.

Blackberry Smoke picking up a third top 40 album within one year! Not bad going ~

#4 is a great result for DJ Fresh and Ella Eyre tbh. The song is actually quite old - I first heard it in November and have played it regularly since, so it doesn't feel that "new".

Like the song, its not his best though (Gold Dust probably wins that).

Blame It On Me is this week's number 41, the reason it wasn't played was actually another George Ezra song being played on Alice's show.
I thought from the early mids that Father John Misty wouldn't quite make the top 20, #14 is a great result!
First album chart post updated with the last little tidbit of George Ezra finally cracking the top 100 with 'Cassy O''.

Biography

LuvBug are an electronic dance music trio consisting of London-born DJ & producer Marvin Humes, Manchester-based producer The White N3rd and producer/songwriter JKAY. Humes and JKAY grew up in Woolwich, East London with JKAY becoming part of the songwriting/producing duo Tracklacers. They worked with producers including Danja (Justin Timberlake, Usher) and Afrojack (David Guetta, Major Lazer) and also produced early material for JLS, the pop/R&B boy band Humes was formerly a part of. N3RD has produced remixes for Diplo and Azealia Banks and was introduced to Humes through songwriter Ali Tennant (Guetta). In April 2013, the trio came together at a London-based studio and started working on material. The group released a string of remixes for the likes of Leah McFall & will.i.am, Inner City, Case & Foxy Brown.

After signing to Polydor Records and working with producer Pantha, Humes suggested British R&B singer Talay Riley for vocals and thus created their debut single "Resonance", which was released on 5 October 2014 and debuted at #13 on the UK Singles Chart and #10 on the Scottish charts. An album is in the works for a potential 2015 release. Its second single, "Revive (Say Something)", features vocals from Mark Asari and will be released on 8 February 2015. - Wikipedia

Biography

Bars and Melody (B.A.M) are a British singing R&B/rapping duo consisting of rapper Leondre Devries ("Bars") and singer Charlie Lenehan ("Melody"). They took part in the eighth series of Britain's Got Talent in 2014. During their audition, they had automatically been entered into the semi-finals of Britain's Got Talent after the head judge Simon Cowell pressed the "golden buzzer", a new feature introduced in the eighth series, and finished in third place.

After the show, Bars and Melody signed a record deal with Syco Music. Their debut single "Hopeful" was released on 25 July 2014. Also 5 days later, they brought out a new single "Shining Star" (30 July 2014), this was an extra to their acoustic version of "Hopeful". They refer to their fans as "Bambinos". Leondres went to a school called Eagleswell and later on went to the school of pop music - Wikipedia

Maybe not the right place to ask but how is 'Umbrella' not a million seller?

Edited by Atonement

Maybe not the right place to ask but how is 'Umbrella' not a million seller?

Because it was released in the dreaded 2002 - 2008 single sales slump, where illegal downloads were in full force and digital downloads hadn't taken off yet.

You'd be surprised how many memorable hits aren't even silver from that era!

I was really surprised to see 'Only Girl' reached that status but 'Umbrella' hadn't, even though it spent 10 weeks at #1

But I guess that explains it. Thank you! It would be nice if it could hit 1 mil eventually.

So who was number 41 and why were there impartiality rules as to why they ciouldn't play it??
