Did anybody watch the first of the second series of Extras last night (Thursday, BBC2 21:00 Hrs)?

 

I thought it was much funnier than anything from the first series (with the exception of Les Dennis).

 

In the first episode, I thought that Keith Chegwin was hilarious, with his near the knuckle "racist, homophobic rant", the very opposite of his cheery persona.

Orlando Bloom was excellent, sending himself up as a vain actor who is obsessed & hates Johnny Depp

& Ricky's co writer Stephen Merchant was very funny (as usual) as Andy's rubbish manager

I saw it last night and it was a lot better than some of the first series episodes. ^_^ I feel sorry for Barry from Eastenders though. :( He's the but of most of the jokes in the show. :(

I'd love to have this show here in Portugal ... :( It looks great! I've only seen the Orlando's parts (and now these videos), and loved it! :rofl: I think this guy should do more comedy. :P

I thought the last series was quite poor when compared to The Office. However I felt that the first episode of the second series was a big improvement, as clearly Ricky & Stephen had worked on making this series funnier than the first series.

Watched it this morning and really enjoyed it. It's clever comedy that sends up its peers (Little Britain / Catherine Tate / Peter Kay) as being popular due to catchphrases.

 

Easily as good as series one, and better than many of the episodes in there.

I really liked the first series but I've missed the first two episodes of the new series. That David Bowie one looks hilarious though! :lol:

out of the first series of extras i found only thre shows funny (Les Dennis, Ross Kemp and Kate Winslet) and the rest poor and humourless. so far after two episodes of the new series i have not stopped laughing. an improvement in my opinion.

The last 10 mins of last nights episode made up for the beggining not being as funny as previous episodes.

I thought last night's...especially Ronnie Corbett sniffing coke in the toilets... was genius. Brilliant stuff.
