Posted March 2, 201510 yr With both Ed Sheeran and Sam Smith having 4 tracks in the Top 40 this week, I was asked elsewhere to see when the last time that happened was. It's taken a bit of work, but I've found it. Any guesses to how long ago it was, and who the artists involved were?
March 2, 201510 yr Author Yes she was. She has also had more weeks with 4 or more tracks in the Top 40 than anyone else.
March 2, 201510 yr That doesn't surprise me. How many weeks in total? And was the other artist David Guetta?
March 2, 201510 yr Author Rihanna has done it 15 times - full summary to come when someone hits the nail on the head, or 1:00 pm if not. The other artist was not David Guetta, he's never had 4 in the 40 in the same week. Mods - sorry for somehow creating a duplicate thread, can the other one be deleted please? March 2, 201510 yr Is it W/E 26/02/2011? Tinie Tempah had 5 songs (Eyes Wide Shut, Wonderman, Pass Out, Written In The Stars and We Bring The Stars Out - whatever that last one is?) alongside Rihanna's S&M/Who's That Chick?/What's My Name?/Only Girl (In The World).
March 2, 201510 yr Looks like you've hit the nail on the head! I never would have guessed Tinie Tempah.

March 2, 201510 yr Well, Tinie Tempah was massive in 2010/11, but that is a massive achievement for a Black British rapper tbh! Saying that, I've never heard of 'We Bring the Stars Out', was it a Brits mash-up or something? Forgot about the JLS feature too.
March 2, 201510 yr Chris Brown w/e 16 Apr 11 4 tracksI think this would be the most recent if Kanye West's 'All Of The Lights' counted towards Rihanna; that song seemed to be credited differently in every source but the OCC do have her listed, surprisingly. Thanks for counting this!
March 2, 201510 yr So Michael Jackson having 13 songs in the Top 40 the week after his death is a record? The only artist I can imagine would beat that record is Madonna if she were to pass away in the near future - not that I would want her to of course. Edited March 2, 201510 yr by Mango
March 2, 201510 yr I was going to guess the 1950s. If credits as a featured artist were excluded, I would have been right.
March 2, 201510 yr We Bring The Stars Out and Pass Out are the same song surely? It was a mash-up of Written In The Stars and Pass Out.
March 2, 201510 yr It was a mash-up of Written In The Stars and Pass Out. Also Miami 2 Ibiza. The title they chose is somewhat of a mystery. IIRC it was combined with 'Pass Out' initially in the mids but they then (correctly, IMO) changed their mind and let it chart separately.
March 2, 201510 yr So Michael Jackson having 13 songs in the Top 40 the week after his death is a record? The only artist I can imagine would beat that record is Madonna if she were to pass away in the near future - not that I would want her to of course. I doubt she would get that many songs back in the top 40, whilst she's undeniably iconic she doesn't have quite the status MJ does. Her effect will probably be slightly bigger than Whitney Houston; she had 'I Will Always Love You' (#14), 'I Wanna Dance With Somebody (Who Loves Me)' (#20) and 'One Moment In Time' (#40) in the top 40
March 2, 201510 yr Would a famous singer dying affect the streaming chart more than the download chart, I wonder? Edited March 2, 201510 yr by AntoineTTe
