Well the prediction game didn't work out so I am trying out another idea which isn't really a game. The new releases are above and you vote in the poll for what you predict the film will open with. Posse post your answers and hopefully this creates discussion

US new releases:

Chappie- New action thriller from District 9 director starring Hugh Jackman and Sharlto Copley and a cute robot.

Unfinished Business- Vince Vaughn comedy

The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel 2- Sequel to the 1st one starring Judi Dench. This was getting a limited release but now seems to be a wide release at over +1,400 theatres

 

My predictions:

Marigold 2 will start small and hold great. Prediction: 7M

Chappie will bomb. Prediction: 17.7M

Unfinished business will do solid. Prediction: 13M

I'm going to predict:

 

'Chappie' - $26.3m

'Unfinished Buisness' - $19.8m >> These type of comedies always tend to do better than expected in the US. *expects this one to underperform majorly now I said that* haha<<

'Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel' - $9.6m

Agree with this and it also feels a lot harder than last week, Chappie is the only one I am confident on and that could easily outperform my expectations. I don't have the first clue where UB or SBEMGH will finish with :lol:

Friday:

Chappie- 4.5M

Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel 2- 2.7M

Unfinished Business- 1.8M

 

Oops at unfinished business completely flopping and chappie doing way worse than even my prediction which would have been a bomb anyway

Well, that's bizarre for 'Chappie'! :\ I genuinely thought you'd completely under estimated it, but I think we've both now over estimated it, by some distance! Hmm...
