I hate to say it but I don't think there'll be a new album for a while, but instead I can smell a GH album and tour coming up next.

Hopefully Cheryl's team would never be silly enough to release a "surprise album." Cheryl is definitely one of those artists who relies on hype and promotion (as lazy as she is at actually giving us the promotion.) Unless of course I've totally misunderstood the term "surprise."

Cheryl Fernandez-Versini: I want to record with Rita Ora

20th Aug 15 | Entertainment News

Cheryl Fernandez-Versini has revealed she would ''love'' to record music with her fellow 'X Factor' judge Rita Ora.

The 32-year-old singer has confessed she misses the energy of working within a band, as she did with Girls Aloud, and would relish the opportunity to collaborate with Rita in the recording studio.

She said: ''I miss working with the girls in the band, so would love to work with Rita now on something. I know it'd be great. She's so funny.''

Cheryl is currently busy balancing her role as a judge on the reality TV show 'The X Factor' with recording her new album, which she revealed is likely to be released in 2016.

She told The Sun newspaper: ''I am recording and let's just say I'm loving R&B again.

''But there'll be no album this year. It's looking more likely to be next year.''

Earlier this month, meanwhile, fellow 'X Factor' judge Simon Cowell branded Rita a ''diva'', but also insisted the fact she has an ''ego'' makes her a much more fascinating person.

He said: ''Rita is a diva, but adorable. I really do like her. I like people who have an ego and want to do well, it makes them more interesting.

''There is a side to Rita that I don't think people have seen yet, which is funny.''

I would actually like a "3 words" part 2, and more "Ghetto baby"/"All in one night" r&b songs !$

And a collab with Rita would be fab of course !

Am I the only one who thinks, going forward, a greatest hits would be a better move for her commercially? Brilliant though an album 'Only Human' is (her best since '3 Words'), the sales for this have suggested public indifference to a new solo album from Cheryl. Singles, yes, but not albums.

I mean she has 11 hits (OK, perhaps that term can be used loosely for this current single and say, 'The Flood') to her name as a solo artist now - near enough the same amount GA had before they did their first greatest hits.

She's now also in a position that not many solo artists launched from girl groups/boybands get to - enough hits of her own to fill up a hits collection of their own. The only others I can think of who've managed that in recent years are Robbie Williams and Ronan Keating. I'd imagine she has two or at least one albums left on her current solo contract - just put out the hits to fulfill it, tour it and move onto a new label.

I mean I say all this even in the fullest knowledge her idea of promotion these days is just turning up on Graham Norton to look poised and aloof next to Jack Dee and not sing but still.

I agree in full with this. Also, if she leaves releasing a Greatest Hits much further it will be a complete flop. Releasing this year would likely result in it at minimum outselling Only Human which wouldn't be hard to do.

if this ISN'T called Cheryl N°5 it'd be the worse travesty since nicki didn't call her third album minaj á trois

It would need to be pronounced as cher-L number 5 in all the promotion though.

GET BACK TOGETHER THEN.

I really love Cheryl for her current stand on body shaming issues. That's a thing I've said for months now, it's not acceptable how it is ok to shame people with skinny bodies. As long as you're healthy, being skinny shouldn't be a problem.

Do you have to post twice in every thread? :kink:

If everyone does the same this forum won't be half as dead so that might be good thing. :)
