April 3, 201510 yr The minority coalition governments could mean demands for a change of leader!! The Lib Dems didn't insist on a change of leader before talking to Labour last time (although it was clear that another leader such as Alan Johnson would probably have helped) and I think it will be the same this time. Similarly, I would not expect Labour to insist that Clegg goes (assuming he keeps his seat) as a condition of talking to the Lib Dems. The fact that Clegg attacked Cameron more than Miliband last night could be seen as a way of trying to improve Lib Dem / Labour relations.

April 3, 201510 yr Labour - Andy Burnham Conservatives - Jacob Rees-Mogg. I assume your choice of Jack Mogg is an attempt to ensure the Tories never get anywhere near power. For the Lib Dems, Tim Farron is the obvious choice. Andy Burnham's biggest asset could be his response to being heckled at a Hillsborough memorial service. There was nothing particularly wrong with what he said on that occasion, but the mood of the crowd clearly had a big affect on him. That led to the enquiry which finally uncovered the truth. As a result, Burnham can claim credentials as a genuine human being.
April 7, 201510 yr For the Lib Dems, Tim Farron is the obvious choice. Only choice I would say. He's the only one who has consistently stuck by what the party stands for during this debacle of a coalition. Even Charles Kennedy and Vince Cable have come out of it badly. The Lib Dems very much *did* insist on a change of leader as a condition of any deal - that's agreed on by both Labour and Lib Dem sources. I think it's very likely they'd ask for Clegg to fall on his sword if the Lib Dems lose big, given he did the same to Brown after Labour did.

April 7, 201510 yr Stella Creasy really would be the death of the Labour party. She would alienate anyone who wasn't one of the more hardcore-Guardianish supporters. There's just no market for any party which makes feminism its main raison d'etre over economic issues. Edited April 7, 201510 yr by Danny
April 7, 201510 yr I couldn't see Stella Creasy making feminism the focus of her leadership at all, especially given her big thing over the last five years has been her campaign against payday lenders' rip-off interest rates - one of the big economic issues for the least well-off, up there with food banks and disability benefit changes.
April 7, 201510 yr Stella is by far the best and least mechanical person that the right of the party has, mainly because she's not really to the right at all. Don't think she's ready yet but I can imagine myself voting for her in the future.
