In other words, what kind of sound out there should Kylie try out? She'll underperform no matter what, so why not give something a go?

Chances are they are going to be piss poor and nothing more than what she's done before, boring dance-pop.

The songs are fine.... its the poor promo and way of doing things that are the problem.........

 

right here right now could easily have got top 40 ......... build streaming up.... then release on a Sunday with a TV appearance/physical CD. it isn't rocket science

So many of her fans are getting bored of her material. I know so many diehard fans who want her to do something different. She takes no risks with her music anymore,

it's all sounded the same. Promo has little to do with it.

they spend their money buying multiple 99p copies to try and get songs to chart but the promotion is all wrong..........

No.... fans are complaining because her music is not getting recognised... not that they necessarily don't like it.......

 

she could shift 5k of CD singles easily if 1 she priced them better (make a little loss if she has too) and 2. makes 2 CDs and stop putting them in expensive bundles.... then lets downloads sell themselves.... have at least some streaming points by releasing it and people adding it to her playlists. and hopefully get some radio play.......

 

STILL hardly anyone is aware of Right Here Right Now for instance.... hardly anyone except hardcore Giorgio and Kylie fans.

She had to re-invent herself to get out of a bit of a commercial pit when she went from the Impossible Princess DeCon stuff (that's right isn't it, I'm not a hardcore fan :P) to the disco eras Light Years and Fever, so seeing as she has nothing to lose I don't see why she shouldn't try something again. I mean it wouldn't be to my taste but she could even do something like Gaga's Cheek To Cheek, she definitely has the tone for it (her covers of Santa Baby and Let It Snow are lovely), that would maybe get her shifting a few albums again at least.

Her Abbey Road album sold because she was on every TV programme going ,and released it at a good time of year to pick up sales.... plus it was like a greatest hits....

 

I agree I am all for inventive Kylie again.... but it is the whole picture that needs to covered not just the song....... she needs to get everything correct........ they still want her on TV shows so get on them........

Currently listening to Hilary Duff's new single and it's not that brilliant but it beats 75% of the stuff on Kiss Me Once.

I don't really agree, it's pretty much mostly down to promotion and airplay which is something she can't get any more. That plus the general public have pretty much zero interest in her regardless.

 

I'd like an album full of stuff like 'Glow' and 'Break This Heartbreak' from the Garibay EP. They're solid tracks and quite different too, but for the album to have a more consistent sound overall.

If she were to come out with something different and fresh, I think the public would latch on. :P I mean, it worked for SEB with Young Blood and Wanderlust.

Not to mention she went to Strictly Dancing and released the album right after her elimination, thereby enjoying the promotion of all sorts.

She needs something fresh and new. Before she released Spinning Around she was pretty much in the same situation she is now, interest in her had waned.That said,i know she was much younger then and radio stations were more likely to pick up her music. She needs to comeback with as statement like she did with Spinning Around or ideally return with another Cant Get You out of my head moment.
