#6 Forget

Average Score: 8.05

The first song in the Froot rate with an 8+ average is ‘Forget’. I’d probably say this was the most commercial sounding outing that Froot offers. It was bordering on
generic
safe to me for some time (especially by Marina’s standard’s), but the fabulous video (in which Marina looks amazing I might add), fully brought this one to life, at least to me. It may be a quite a simple chorus, but it’s still a big one. This is the last song in the rate to receive a -1 (from Umi this time), but due to generally high scores, ‘Forget’ still manages to secure its place in the more popular half of the album. Its score was, however, not at any point anywhere near taking it to the top 5.

'Better Than That' is now my favourite behind the first three on the album. It really should have done Better Than That. :(

I think 'Forget' is in the right position, it sits about halfway in my order of the album as well.

Shocked at 'Can't Pin Me Down' is in the Top 5 but I'm also glad that 'Happy' is there too

#5 Happy

Average Score: 8.59

Taking the average score up by quite a bit, and starting off a
very strong
top 5, is the beautiful opener to Froot. When I first heard 'Happy' as a Froot of the month, I was slightly disappointed, I felt I wanted more from Marina after how amazingly insane 'Froot' sounded. But in the context of the album, I now feel the strength of this track. It's an honest track that lets the listener really know what place Marina is in mentally and emotionally before continuing with the jaunty tones of 'Froot'. Still, though I've grown to adore this song in more than one way, it's something I have to be in the right mood to listen to. 'Happy' receives plenty of love from Buzzjack, but it gained its fair share of lower scores, too.

Glad it didn't make the top 5!
No way Blue is better than Happy, Forget and Immortal, as much as I love it.

'Happy'

So beautiful and definitely her most open, personal and raw song.

It's not, you must have missed that one :P

Oops, I have NO idea why I still thought it was in

Happy is crap. Or I'm just too miserable to appreciate the sentiment.

#4 Savages

Average Score: 8.63

Beating the average of 'Happy' by a very small margin is 'Savages'. When the full album first dropped, this was the song that seemed to have generated the most positive buzz across message boards and on social media, so I was fully expecting this to go top 2/3 in the rate. In the end, it didn't get
that
many top scores, in fact, 'Happy' got noticeably more 10s and 11s. Savages succeed to place higher because it didn't really get any low scores (apart from that 4 from Kath). Thematically, I think this is the absolute best on the album. I find the lyrics interesting and provocative (especially since discovering she's actually saying 'bomb', and it’s not 'one man can build a barn'). Marina touches on rape culture as well as other controversial themes you'd rarely expect from a
pop
indie song. And I find that the idea of comparing human behaviour to savages parallels nicely with the break up themes in 'Blue' and 'I'm a Ruin'. I especially enjoy when she wails like a banshee at the end.

Savages is good, glad it didn't get higher than 4th though. Blue out next please, an I'm a Ruin and Froot top 2 would be
I got the Top 3 right...then again...it seemed obvious that they are the three most loved songs.

Happy and Savages are both incredible <3

It has to be I'm A Ruin to win with Blue 2nd and Froot 3rd, they're all fab but Froot has nothing on the other two imo - would be about 5th for me ranking all the songs.
