I happily pay an extra few quid for some beautiful artwork and superior sound quality.

I haven't bought a CD in around 10 years (well apart from at a charity shop that is)

Vinyl all the way.

ChartsPlus has carried the vinyl T40 album chart for several years.

It must be over 10 years since I last bought a vinyl record though - they are much more expensive than CD's/downloads, too.

We have indeed, since June 2010 in fact. The up side is the printed issue includes the vinyl catalogue numbers which are not on the OCC website.

"the Official Charts Company are pleased to introduce the UK’s first ever Official Vinyl Charts. "

That can't possibly be true! From around 1962 (the demise of 78s) until 1989 (the introduction of Cassette Singles) the Singles chart would have been an exclusively vinyl chart, and would have been seen as official from 1969 or so, if not before. The album chart would have been exclusively vinyl as well for at least part of the 60s (the introduction of Cassette Albums, and also 8 tracks, being much earlier than Cassette Singles).

Your first foray here for nearly 7 months. :)

I've been thinking of getting into vinyl. I love collecting and it was always one of the best parts of purchasing music in my childhood.

10 years? Must be 25 years for me.

Probably would have been 1990 when I bought my first CD player, never looked back since.
