Obviously, I choose my #1 favourite girl group for the first post.

YVA

Who are YVA ?

Maybe some hardcore Eurovision fans on this forum heard about YVA. YVA was the most popular Lithuanian group, which known for Europeans as a particapant of 2 National Finals for ESC with "Barbie" (2005) and "I Dangu" (2009).

YVA was a sexy trio of singer Natalija Zvonke (now Bunke) and two female dancers. "YVA" (Ypatingai Viliojanti Atrakcija) is an abriveatura, on English it means Extremely Seductive Attraction.

Formed in 2003, Yva got their big breakthrough in 2005, when their song "Berniukams" (and debut album of the same title) caused mass hysteria in Lithuania, becoming the biggest hit of the summer. Yva based their success on combination of infectious uptempo pop songs and self promotion.Natalija is probably the most recognizable face of current Lithuanian pop culture – she takes part in most of the main music events and never denies an interview.

YVA released 4 albums and a compilation of their greatest hits.

After YVA's split Natalija Bunke is a solo singer and a member of girl group Pop Ladies.

First YVA's song was "Barbie" (Song from Eurovision pre-selection). This track wasn't released on any album, but it's first and last YVA's song on English.

Epic cheesy !!!!

In 2009 YVA did the second unsuccessful Eurovision attempt with "I Dangu".

For peoples, who didn't watch all editions of Lithuanian Eurovision pre-selction in 2015, my favourite was Liepa Mondeikaite with retro style song "Skestu".

Watch from 1.35

This is one of the few songs from Lithuania I know, only because it dates from the first time I discovered the country even existed:

...and then, of course, came this BRILLIANCE a few years later:

Indeed "We Are The Winners" is EPIC song, should be deserved Eurovision winner instead Lordi.

It was my favourite Eurovision song from Lithuania before 2015 entry.

Pop Ladies (maybe most popular current Lithuanian girl group, include ex-YVA singer Natalija Zvonke-Bunke and Liepa too) did good cover version :

It's the one from some their covers on Eurovision songs.

"Tik Tau" (original "Satellite") :

"Molitva"

and even "Euphoria"

More signature Lithuanian girl groups. Now it's a time for 69 Danguje. Three albums were released in period from 2006 to 2008. I'm always prefer YVA and Sokoledas, but this group had many fans in Lithuania, so maybe you will like these ladies.

Best Eurovision song of 2015 on Lithuanian language.

But it's not music paradise, Lithuanians did wrong choice again, "Skestu"'s win was robbed (by Liepa, not by Monika)

But I wish a good luck for the best Lithuanian entry. :cheer:

I love 'This Time', definitely the best Lithuanian Eurovision entry I can remember!

From YVA and Pop Ladies to Natalija Zvonke-Bunke solo material :

Wonderful "Nieko Asmenisko" and "Sirdis Ant Balto Sniego"

Sadly her last single "Idealiste" is very far from ultimate level of quality. :( :(

Brilliant new pop song from Lithuania - the lyrics are a bit crap to be fair but I love the production and her voice is interesting:

^ She is very modern and mainstream for my taste. Even not on charmed Lithuanian language.

Maybe she wants to have some popularity in another countries.

Q: Why I love Lithuanian pop scene ?

A: Mostly because they still have popular girl groups, which sounds like 90s pop groups.

1. It was a successful attempt for ruining good thread.

2. It's not pop.

3. Just read a wise words from Kat McSnatch.

"People are allowed to be idiots, I don't have to care. Personally, I'd rather be laughing"

RULE # 1 : If you hate me, PLEASE don't post anything in Lithuanian pop thread.
