HIYA, I'm doing a special live countdown today but instead of joining the bandwagon of everyone doing it from 40 I'm going to do for my top 20 alone :)

So kick starting the top 20 is Los Angeles sibling indie pop group Echosmith with their quite electro orientated song 'Come Together' which slides a couple to this weeks number 20, still waiting on the tracks ACTUAL impact date here. Not sure what is going on as it was TOTD on R1 a few weeks back. Ellie's FORMER #1 Smash 'Love Me Like You Do' also drops a few places to #19 this week. I think I speak on the majority of the Universe in being very interested to hear what comes up with next... with her 3rd studio album due out you gotta wonder...

Lawson made their return to my top 40 several weeks back when 'Roads' first entered at #34 but after nearly two months it shoots up to a decent new peak of #18. This is the lead single from their forthcoming 2nd album.

At #17 we have one of the songs that will staying around pretty much all charts throughout the summer, 'Cheerleader' by OMI. It was originally a standard RNB track released in 2012 but Felix Jaehm ended up adding his remix to the track which sent to it to the highest of heights this year entering at #2 in the UK and going to #1 in 17 countries. The song however remains here with a peak of #8 which isn't too shabby I don't think. Galantis shoots up seven places to #16 with the surefire hit 'Runaway' and Ed Sheeran's 'Bloodstream' featuring Rudimental dips two places to #15.

So scoring the highest of four new entries in my top 40 but the only one inside my top 20 is from Michael Calfan with his dance anthem 'Treasured Soul' which debuts at #14. The track is on course to score Michael his first top 20 hit tommorow!

At no.s #13 & #12 we have two girls named Ella :P Ella Henderson who famously finished 6th in the 8th series of The X Factor falls four spots to 13 having racked up 2 #1's on my chart with 'Glow' and 'Ghost' and also peaking here at #3 with the wintery ballad 'Yours'. Ella Eyre is along with Henderson my favourite new act of 2014 but sadly has not yet scored an ACTUAL top 10 Official hit on her own, this chart however is a completely different story as all of her previous hits have gone top 10 even 'Deeper' which was a taster track. 'Together' manages to keep rising though and is up two places to #12 this week, with a few more weeks till it's officially released I have no doubt that this will keep her top 10 streak going! The Killers frontman Brandon Flowers sadly slips out of the top 10 after a few weeks with 'Can't Deny My Love', almost certainly my favourite of his solo tracks now. The production on this is IN-CRED-IBLE!

Down three to #10 then, we have the rather fiesty and sassy duo of Iggy Azalea and Jennifer ACTUAL Hudson with 'Trouble'. If this manages to go top 10, Sunday it will become J-Hud's FIRST EVER Top 10 hit :jameela:

 

In at number 9 is Sia with the stunning follow up to her previous big hit 'Elastic Heart', 'Big Girls Cry' which ascends nine places and features the cute Maddie once more in the video!

Marlon Roudette drops to number #8 this week with 'When The Beat Drops Out', a song that has remained stable inside my top 10 for a while now!

Possibly one of the biggest surprise climbs in my top 40 comes from Hozier. The reason why I say surprise is because 'Take Me To Church' only reached #25 back in October and spent 3 weeks top 40. 'Someone New' however seems to have struck a big chord with me partly down the playing it on guitar but also because I couldn't quite get into TMTC because of how slow and depressing it was. This could potentially give Hozier an unexpected Official Top 40 Hit as well as it's making very good progress on iTunes, currently at #34 and #78 on Spotify.

 

Meghan Trainor climbs back inside my top 10 this week to find herself at a brand spanking new peak of #6 with 'Dear Future Husband. I cannot get enough of the catchy popness that she brings to the table each time even though this is marginally weaker than her first two singles for me. Her album is highly recommendable if you're into this Doo Wop type of music. I promise you she can SING and does deliver with the ballads on the album too.

1. NO! It's definitely is WORTHY you mean :angry: It's like you with 'Hold My Hand' for me. I wasn't even a huge fan on it at first listen but it has massively grown into something excellent for me now. Guess it's MØ that's helps it out as I charted 1 or 2 of her songs last year :)
