It probs won't be Frank. He's very particular with who he works with. He wouldn't include an artist just for the sake of it. Nonetheless it would be a dream if they collaborated.

Just give us the full song Leona please! Or at least a date for release! Can't believe this year will be 10 years since her last studio album was released. 🥲

Leona was in the studio yesterday recording her part of a collab for someone else's album!! Thinking it might be Disclosure/Frank Ocean perhaps?

Disclosure would be great! She might get a hit after all - even their Eliza Doolittle collab went top 10!

The Poet - Catch Me When I Fall (Feat Leona Lewis) - Expected September 2015

I remember tweets about them working together last year, he apparently worked a lot with the Black Eyed Peas, can't wait to hear it. Hopefully its a great song. I think he is just a producer, not a rapper or singer, so Leona will be doing the main vocals throughout.

Also I hope this will be a different collab to the one she recorded last week.

Yes leona give me that dance/club song!! Can't wait! :cheer:

We might get to hear a snippet of this really soon.

love u guys, a teaser tonight! I think this song and yes Leona are so beautiful;did about 20 diff versions and 3d print art ..

I appreciate you're reply but you misunderstand. I've watched Leona very very closely for at least the last 5 years. One more step and I'll be classed as a stalker fan. I know through being completely besotted by her for so long how much she wants this to work. But the fundamentals are all wrong. Who she has been marketed as over the past 8 years is exactly what I have said previously. Sometimes she does indeed come out of her shell, but in honesty, it's not regular and it's not 'known' that she has her wacky fun side. Every time she stepped foot on that Xfactor stage (after she won) she could hardly speak, it's like when put under pressure she can't find the words. She said herself she's a better singer than a speaker. Although she has come a long way that hasn't changed people's perception. She has a long long way to go before the British public see her as we do as dedicated fans. Because we only really see that from YouTube clips. I think people get excited for her to sing, because of her incredible voice. But they don't expect a great song and they don't expect or get a bubbly Leona. Mainly because she doesn't offer that out. Look at her singing Thunder on Kelly and Michael America. She isn't enjoying herself she looks like she's terrified. Why?!! What has she got to be scared about? She's singing about coming back with the THUNDER and with Fire under her feet. For god sake convince us and America of that. Otherwise it looks like she doesn't get what she's singing about. Where was the emotion that fits with the lyrics? Sometimes she completely connects to a song. She gets enveloped in it. Like FTEISYF in Dublin. Amazing!! But It's rare. Next. Her depression, which she said in Stella magazine she definitely wasn't depressed as she wouldn't want to offend people who are. I don't want some deep fan interpretation. I take it as it is. She's obviously hurt and felt used BUT, at face value people aren't going to stop and feel sorry for her. And that's what she needs. In order for people to take on her 'empowerment' and root for her they first have to sympathise. That's hard when she makes it quite clear shes not in much pain at all. No one is asking her to break down, but being so guarded doesn't help. All the interviews I've heard she doesn't say a bad word against anyone it's like HAVE AN OPPINION PLEASE!! Get angry, show us enough to believe this drama. Instead it's just all lovely and she still loves Cowell and Syco. Yawn!! Yawn!! This album was her chance to break the mould and she isn't doing that! At all. I'm sure she isn't oblivious to what the general public think. And she knows she needs them on her side to be commercial but she just can't connect it. Song choices in the past have been insanely off point both lyrically and for her brand. This is the break, her to her brand. She's made herself become this limbo solo artist who is still looking for who she is. And even if she does indeed know who she is, it's not believable because she won't make it believable. Maybe I'm wrong and maybe my marketing knowledge is backward. But I believe this won't connect to the public anymore than Glassheart. I'd bet my bottom dollar that if a poll was put out, the public would want a brilliant deep ballad from her. Not just another ballad, a brilliant one! I hope America takes her back because the UK seem to have had enough. I don't need educating. Don't talk down to me. Thanks.

Okay firstly - for every Kelly & Michael performance there are a lot of more lively performances (the US radio tour, the Palladium, the CWL era). Secondly, she was talking about not being clinically depressed - not the natural (if that's the right word) kind of depressed. She clearly was depressed - everyone gets depressed from time to time. She said in her open letter how she never experienced such lows and how she realised its okay to be 30 and to still need to phone her parents at night while crying down the phone. My point is that regardless of what brought on the depression, it's depression. Dismissing it by effectively saying "some people have real problems" is quite ignorant. It's like when someone says "and people are starving in Africa". It's all relative and everyone has the right to feel low.

Thirdly, she does have opinions - just like everyone. She just chooses a classier way of airing them. It's not in her nature to slag someone off publicly and to "get angry". Also, it's hypocritical to demand for her to have an opinion when earlier in the Singles Rate thread you said you're starting to find her infuriating because of her OPINIONS regarding Syco: As my friend put it "Leona went from a 5 million pound record deal to one of the biggest record labels in the world, my heart bleeds for you Leona". He is right. I can't buy into her story because its lacks so much depth and meaning. Yes she might have felt hurt, yes she may have felt lost, but nobody is going to stop and listen to you because it clearly didn't hurt that much, or last that long! She is getting totally infuriating..."

I'm surprised you are a fan to be honest - you're not a fan of the musical direction she's taken for the past 4 years and you seem to find fault with her personality? If you're a fan of "Leona the diva" then I think you'll be disappointed since that's more Syco than Leona herself.

This is just in response to the "Leona Brand Critque' above. My question is, if Adele and Ed Sheeran were able to take off on the basis of their music alone, why can't we accept that Leona can't apply the same strategy re: I AM. What will lashing out at Simon on national tv/print help with? You know, there's always another side of the story. I'm sure 'the mistake's' she references in her songs are things she may have inadvertently done to compromise her success in previous eras.

She is doing fine. Her Thunder performance on Kelly and Michael has been my best so far. Don't like the acoustic dos, tbh. Guitars just don't capture the sentiment of the song in my opinion. My worry with Leona, though, as that she may be to cavalier about success...like it doesn't really matter...like a part of her is too doubtful of her prospects. I hope this isn't the case. I hope she wakes up daily believing millions of album sales for I AM or her singles...WITHOUT ANY RESERVATION AT ALL. Otherwise we are just wasting our time with overeager support of the kind of success we envision for her isn't really a desired REALITY. I think she has her moments of doubt: if someone asks you when your song/album comes out...simply saying September doesn't cut it. There's is something wrong with that, be it behind the scenes second-guessing by her label or 'shyness.'

The release so far may be ok. I haven't looked at enough examples from the past to see how things work in US. If it had all been in my hands, I would have overlapped a lot of promo, including targeting Top 40 and HAC. As things are not in my control, I simply hold out on the hope for success. Hopefully it is in alignment with Leona's wishes.

To success!! :cheer:

She wasn't depressed Jesus do you know what depression is? It's a huge mental and emotional disorder which ruins people's lives. I don't think categorising her as depressed helps any argument. She was low. She was stuck. But that's all. The public (and this my point) are not going to have any real empathy for her story. The reason being its not relatable enough. It's similar to that idea of someone being rich and then being upset because they lost all their money. People are going to be like "so what?!". She's landed on her feet after not really falling. She has a great family, a great upbringing, quite a privileged upbringing by the sounds of it, great friends, a wealth of 12 million quid and a gorgeous boyfriend. And then she releases an album about empowerment. Huh?!! And she wants the public to connect. It's no surprise there isn't yet a connect. And not yet any sales of any single at all. I love her, I love that she found her strength but that's for a fan to love. Not a marketing tactic (which is what it's being used as) to get people to buy into. The real problem is, and I find this with a lot of fans is the understanding that she is a brand, a business. She wrote her signature on a contract to say she is going to represent a label and bring in the cash. Hence artists being dropped if this doesn't happen. So, with this in mind there needs to be a question of, what's the middle ground between Leona and who she is, what she represents, what's true to her and what do the public want, what will they instantly connect to. What's the theme?! This theme is off, it's story is shallow and it's not really something she can strongly communicate. She does not exude strength, power, fire, Thunder or any of these words. Line up Adele, Beyonce, Ariana Grande, Jessie J, Taylor Swift, etc etc, does Leona own or represent a place in the market which Joe Bloggs wants a piece of? No she doesn't!! I may love her music but I see that she is irrelevant. Leona needs rebranding. Especially for the UK. Also. Aside from her shyness which I find deeply irritating, when I say Leona I'm talking about the brand. Because in all honesty, even a hardcore fan doesn't know the first thing about Leona as a person. she has to be the most guarded person in history. Which is great, but not if you're wanting people to connect to you and but your music. If this is her and she is happy then I'm happy for her. But she needs to openly tell her label she's in it for her own wants and isn't interested in being a brand which will be future proof. Fair play to her, she doesn't want to be a product. The sad thing is, a few fans are yet to realise she already is one. Waiting for a collaboration which helps her and the inevitable ballad that will find its middle ground between her and the public.

Well damn, that is taking ignorance to a higher level. Never have I ever seen someone saying someone can't be depressed because she has friends, family and money. There are so many levels in being depressed, one can so depressed that suicide is their only way out or one can be depressed in life when they for example see no light at the end of the tunnel and don't know what to do. You have absolutely no idea what Leona has been through and it's so disrepectful and disgusting to even read that. Just because you don't see it or read about it in the papers doesn't mean she's been having it difficult behind the scenes. Not everone shows their emotions, you know? It actually affected her vocals and her body.

In the other post you're saying you miss her love songs.. Well who made Leona the relation therapist? What does she know about love or heartbreak when she's happy with her boyfriend for the past 5 years? How should people connect with someone who is singing about bad relationships when she's actually in a healthy realtionship?

Why does the empowerment not connect with the public? Do you think everyone knows her story? The fact you actually think people listen to Leona to connect with her story. No they try to connect with personal stories in their life. There have been so many songs about empowerment and I couldn't give a shit about the artist, if the songs makes me feel happy and strong, then mission accomplished.

Just because you haven't been through enough in your life to connect with empowerment doesn't mean others can't connect with empowerment songs. Really shaking my head to this nonsense.

Ok so you clearly have a desire for her to be depressed when she's clearly said she wasn't. That's fine. And as for the rest of your comments let's see what the sales say come September.

Don't insult my intelligence. Of course I know what depression is. It seems that you are the one who doesn't understand depression - just because she has fame and fortune and a stable family, that doesn't mean she has nothing to be depressed about. I'd dread to hear your opinion on Robin Williams... Soe said it perfectly - music fans generally like songs because they can relate to them - not because they think the artist can relate to them. Using your way of thinking, Christina Aguilera's 'Beautiful' shouldn't have connected with the the public since she was a worldwide superstar at the time and had an extremely sexy image. Well that song became one of her biggest hits ever... Her singles this era haven't done much simply because the big radio stations - Heart, Capital and Radio 1 - haven't given them their support. How can people buy songs they don't even know exist?

Ok so you clearly have a desire for her to be depressed when she's clearly said she wasn't. That's fine. And as for the rest of your comments let's see what the sales say come September.

Not only are you clueless about depression you clearly don't know how to read. Leona said she felt depressed but not as deep like people are. You know the "levels of depression" I talked about in my previous post? I don't want her to be depressed, another disturbing thought of you, but if she said she was then she was and your lack of knowledge won't deny that as you don't know her in person.

The rest of my post has nothing to do with sales but you go girl, it's simply another way to avoid my points.

I appreciate you think Leona is still that big diva that will sell millions with her album, but there is no way she can after 3 years of absence (exluded CWL), and especially in the US where she hasn't released in 5 years. There's no way she'll chart high, it will take long way to get her back out there and they're doing a good.
