She's doing Broadway in a month, of course she's not selling albums or were we expecting a new album already? :???: She will have plenty of time to record in the meantime. The amount of exposure she'll be getting is huge, I think some fans just don't know how big of a deal this is. Recording a new album has always been so boring as a fan because she literally is gone, but now we have so much to look forward to.

He could easily get any other artist he collabed with on the album who are way bigger in the US than Leona But they need to tie the guest performers back into the show, Cassadee Pope is Country, so that is why she is part of it and Leona is nominated, hence she has been asked to sing too.
