Video's here:

On immediate first impression...it's better than the 'Up' video, not as good as the 'Seasons' video was.

I still love the song though, excellent single choice - can't wait for his Britain's Got Talent performance tomorrow!

Now sitting at #42 on iTunes following his Britain's Got Talent performance last night. Was a bit shaky to begin with but not a bad performance overall! Also on B-list at Radio 1 now.

Now languishing at #112 having been inside the top 40 of iTunes three days ago. Quite why his team haven't bought the release of the digital EP forward is beyond me...then again they did this with 'Seasons' and it charted the week after Radio 1 and 2 dropped it like a hot stone. This deserves to be doing so much better than it currently is.

I rather feel at the moment like they're doing b-all promo for the singles aside from one big performance and a couple of smaller promos appearances since 'Up' came out for fear of making him 'overexposed' or whatever with 'The X Factor' hosting duties coming up shortly once he finishes the European leg of his tour. It's incredibly frustrating even though it's helping the album.

If things don't improve with this single in the next couple of weeks I say they leave it at that with this album campaign and concentrate, going forward, on the new album in November - which is looking likely to be a 'best of' with a few new songs added on from what I've heard.

OK. I (partially) take back what I said last week. Now #63 on iTunes, doubtless after the increased exposure Radios 1 and 2 have been giving this and the music channels likewise with the video.

Digital EP's out Sunday with two new remixes - I think this has potentially become the new artwork after Olly Tweeted it the other day:

A performance and interview on 'This Morning' is pencilled in for this Friday...it's better than nothing I suppose but still not ideal. Serious questions need to be raised with both his label and management because he deserves better than this.

I don't think it's doing that bad really and it's not that serious a situation, it's very rare for singles this late in the campaign to make the top 40 - especially for artists that aren't the likes of Taylor Swift, Katy Perry etc. It's basically the same situation as Ella Henderson and 'Mirror Man' or Cheryl and 'Only Human' or even previous Olly singles like 'Busy'. It is just very difficult to break the top 40 with post-album singles without an X Factor performance which is the only show of its kind that has the audience reach needed to have a significant chart impact.

Of course Olly has managed it before with 'Right Place Right Time', but even that had Britain's Got Talent which is the 2nd best thing (and possibly a price reduction too?). A post-album success like 'Dear Darlin' only tends to happen on rare occasions, especially for UK artists.

It may have helped releasing the remixes EP when he was in the iTunes top 40, but it would have old helped by a few places at most and he wouldn't have got anywhere near top 40 officially due to streaming.

Olly performed Beautiful To Me on Britain's Got Talent a few weeks ago :P

This is likely to flop. Hopefully, its the beginning of a major downturn for him given his last single didn't do great but I fear not. He is so irritating and not a great singer by any standards and yet he keeps throwing out the same kind of crap.

Ya think? I disagree - I don't really follow his career as much as other people on here but the tracks I love from him such as Thinking Of Me, Dear Darlin', Up and this song are all quite different, in my opinion anyway!

All his late singles struggle, all his early ones do well, it's not a sign of a major downturn. In fact his profile will raise even more as a presenter on X Factor. That should help sales. Probably a performance from him as well to boost his album sales.

btw did anyone see that Murs has 3 of the top 40 highest selling albums of the century? The lad done good.

I saw that too, so proud :D Just a shame when, with recent articles in snooty broadsheets about album sales being on a downward slide they neglect to mention he's had two million selling albums. And all this from a man who most people have spent his entire career trying to write off when he comes back proving people wrong time after time.

There's no disputing the album's been a success - half a million sold in UK so far, was at #1 as well - but with the singles, compared to the last album it's just been a bit disappointing the way his label and management have handled things with promoting them and releasing them.

This really should've been in place of 'Seasons' and I think it would have done better than that did. Then for Summer he should have released 'Did You Miss Me?'!

I know it's not necessarily a sign of a downturn - but dear darling was third single from his last album and that did quite well and even the 4th single made top40. When you compare to this album, he hasn't performed as well with the third and fourth singles at all and his current album hasn't sold anywhere near the amounts of the last three.

And all this from a man who most people have spent his entire career trying to write off when he comes back proving people wrong time after time.

Olly, as a charismatic, down-to-earth, straight, white male doing radio-friendly pop music is about as mass appealing and accessible as they come! I'm not sure who all these people are who've continually discredited him, other than an insignificant minority of industry snobs and some internet forum/blog posters, perhaps. His sustained success may surprise people but they're generally not actively against it. Arguably his X Factor roots may have cost him some BRIT nominations but other than that, you definitely tend to overstate his 'struggle'! :P

Also, I really think some people's expectations for this album campaign are unreasonable (although fair enough if the current single's release strategy could have been better executed). His commercial peak was clearly 'Right Place Right Time' - unexpectedly huge post-album single with 'Dear Darlin', re-release months later to sustain sales. The fact that he'll have a fourth album easily surpassing double platinum is incredible and with the upcoming X Factor role and media/public goodwill that he continues to garner, I can't see there being any noteworthy 'decline' for his fans to worry about. Also bear in mind that he's at a stage in his career where he's very comfortable and, as a 30+ year old on his fourth album, he and the label may not be particularly interested in him going on extensive promotional trails for post-album singles. He's also got his life to live, other interests/projects to pursue and his success to enjoy so basically...chill your beans etc. B-)
