Not much given Tories are a huge disaster and party for fat cats and people have woken up to that

and not much as I doubt most young people voted for Labour on that one issue, it goes deeper than that (though Labour could always reduce costs as opposed to do away with student debt entirely by returning it to the original costs that they introduced - but leave it as a future tax rather than an actual debt).

That's hardly news, yet that doesn't stop people voting for them...

over two-thirds of the electorate didn't vote for them, and most who did were well-off, elderly and/or Brexit frothers :P

That's still more than voted for Labour - and you don't want to get into a voter-stereotyping battle with me. ;)

stereotyping is based on polling or bias. I prefer evidence-based, and I don't get into "battles" with anyone, I just express a view and back it up with evidence. I'm sure there are plenty of Tory-voters who don't fit into those categories, and will vote for them for any number of reasons, but those will be the most-obvious or most-likely-given reasons.

labour didn't get as many votes as Conservatives? Gosh! Turns out the electorate is well and truly fragmented, just like Brexit, who knew!?

The first post-Brexit election should be every interesting...

I dare say by then Remainers will have formed the UKSP (United Kingdom Subservience Party). :teresa:

Oh my god. Stop peddling those ridiculous myths, vidcapper. I would honestly actually PREFER those myths to be true anywya than be ruled by old landed money Tories anyway.

Which specific myths did you have in mind here?

Besides. you just quoted a myth of your own, namely 'ruled by old landed money Tories'. I assume you haven't forgotten this is a democracy... :teresa:

do your own survey on the backgrounds of most Tories, and have a look-see, just pick a few of the most powerful and test your theory. In terms of polticians generally even Jezza is a public schoolboy - though he wont like it shouted about. May is rich, Johnson is super rich, Farage is rich. Show me a senior politican that went to a comprehensive school and didn't have well-off parents (which is most of the population of the UK)....

Dennis Skinner? At 85, there aren't many senior to him...

Who the hell is still supporting that VILE CONTRMPTIBLR bunch of fat cats and THERESA BLOODY MAY??

What's interesting about that latest poll is that Jeremy Corbyn is back at net disapproval rating, having had a bump into net positive since the election. I'm not sure what he's done over the recess to cause such a drop - the only potential negative things that could've played a part were -

a) His response to the Venezuelan crisis and his refusal to publicly denounce the anti-democratic policies of President Maduro, whom Corbyn has previous been rather chummy with (instead taking the "Trump option" by appropriating blame to both sides)

b) the removal of Sarah Champion as shadow minister following her article on the exploitation of women by rape gangs.

People who have a lot to lose if a tax/spend socialist gov't came to power?

c) His 'clarification' on student loans, in that he didn't really mean that he was going to write them all off.

I've always found that a particularly daft phrase. There's no point in levying taxes and then not spending the money. Equally, if a government wants to spend money, they have to raise it. OTOH, maybe people don't want decent schools, hospitals etc.
